I'll always say this shit until this channel hits over a million. This is the most underrated channel. Dude is a straight goat 🐐 with everything he touches and doesn't make a simple project a 10 video series.
@Lord Humungous exactly u don't need to watch 18 videos that only get put out once a week just to do one job. You can watch one video that will get you caught up and it's always pretty much a full project. Dude should easily be in the millions. Not just the content but the comments he makes to Bobbie has me dying
Watching you use the metabo wheel as a grinder gives me the chills. Have a couple of those mo'fuckers break apart at full speed will do that to a man. Gotta get some flap disks or even a finger sander for the small spots. I'm sure you know all of this. It's crazy how just a little effort can make shit look so much better. I appreciate the fact that even though no one will ever see the welds that you want the wheel wells to look good. Props to you sir.
When welding 2 panels together use wel-through primer (3M or any other brand) on both sides. If you can't reach an area you have to drill a small hole in the panel and use cavity wax to spray on the welded area, otherwise it's going to rust.
4T is for continues long welds ,press the trigger once the wire keeps coming out then press to stop , 2T is for short welds you keep your finger on the trigger let go to stop
Its always nice to learn new stuff. However buy the correct tools, grind with a different blade. It makes life so much easier. Keep on the good work, Sir 😁🤟
Good to see how far youve come bro, from this vid till your newer one like the blue evo you did. Cant wait to see what coming next after bobbies evo x is done
Just a little tip Devin ... disconnecting a battery when welding is recommended as you can damage your ECU while doing that ... never happened to anyone I know but I am still doing it better safe then sorry :) great job with welding ^^
this man is a one stop shop. haha. I want to get into welding too. good on you devin. love how you enjoy learning new things instead of just letting someone else do all the work.
.023 wire for sheet metal and keep the tacks at least 6 inches apart then let the metal cool before going back for next set of tacks. Also look into flapper wheels for your grinder makes prep and clean up way easier and cleaner.
caulk gun has a stabber underneath in the front to poke a hole in the caulk. there should also be a razor inside of a hole on the caulk gun "trigger" you could say, that you use to cut the plastic tip off of the caulk if you don't have a razor handy.
Went to school not long ago for welding and when I tried to use a little dinky mig welder from Canadian tire (Canada’s harbor Freight) was awful but the best advice for using welders like that would just be get a piece of metal and run straight lines and play around with speed and voltage and see if you can get a good weld with a constant thickness and no little holes and you will be good 👍
@@deltan9ne306 you know it!! Got quite a few power fist tools for those odd jobs where you don't want to break the bank!! Also glad to see I'm not the only one self teaching myself how to weld. It's a fun learning curve... I think! Ha
Awesome work there sir one of my most favorite channels, hope you did disconnect battery before welding on the car. Can't wait to see what u have planned for the Sti
Bro!! Who are you?! Mecanic? Painter? Welder? Ddddaaaaammmm ssssoooonnn!! First time welding and you did that?! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Not bad at all!! Keep up with the assomes videos😉😉😉
Quick tip that will really help u with the welding. Keep and air hose and air chuck with ur while ur welding so u can quickly cool down the spot and welding on it. Cus it's really easy to start warping panels cus of heat. If u get that that's opening a hole other can of worms. But good job tho really.
Honestly before you buy something, You should check on the reviews, if its 5 stars and which is the best one out there. Those are my 3 things i look for before buying anything. You don’t want to waste money and time, you want to buy something that will last you for a long time. Saving money and at the same time you being smart.
As someone that has bought both expensive and cheap tools i would advise just buying the good ones once. It will be cheaper in the long run and your experience will be much better
Should of just practise welded some similar thin material to give yourself a good idea how it will react but keep up the good work man your car always look so mental when finished 👍
Instead of using that giant grinder to grind everything down, you’ll get much better/faster results with a 90 die grinder and a 80-60 grit sanding disk with your air tools.
Clean materials before you weld and make sure you have your heat and wire speed and travel speed downpacked. Get that welder to purr like a cat that’s how you know it’s gunna sound and weld nice.

Totally agree with you and the result is 10 times better than I was expected.

Best comment bro love watching his vids everyday !!
agree 👍👍
“That’s my supra you’re leaning on” I wanna say that one day lmao

Yea I was gonna say the same thing. Flappy discs will change your life, Devin
I came to say the same thing.
You know when Bobbi comes in its gonna be a funny video

Use a cutting disc to cut. Use a flappy disc for grinding off.
Agreed! I was waiting for that thing to fly apart on him.
I like how you does try to every thing
🇹🇹?

I fuckin love you two. Two of my favorite people in this world. You make my days better and I appreciate you. Stay real.
so glad to see this subie getting properly restored
Dev, pro tip. The metal Rod on the caulking gun is for poking the hole in the tube 😉
I give you props on doing all your own work and learning as you go. Welding isn't easy but good job.
I am so excited to see supra build series. I know you will make her 🔥bro.
I respect you because you try. You'll only get better.
7:02. God I fucking love this channel more every day.
Here to relieve stress. Thank you Devin❤️🔥

Keep on the good work, Sir 😁🤟
"thats my supra you're leaning on" GOT ME DEAD bro you're a riot, supra things!
Good to see how far youve come bro, from this vid till your newer one like the blue evo you did. Cant wait to see what coming next after bobbies evo x is done
we all know how much we want to learn from Devin and yeah he also don't give up and learn more...
Just a little tip Devin ... disconnecting a battery when welding is recommended as you can damage your ECU while doing that ... never happened to anyone I know but I am still doing it better safe then sorry :) great job with welding ^^
When getting new tools becomes just as enjoyable as the project
this man is a one stop shop. haha. I want to get into welding too. good on you devin. love how you enjoy learning new things instead of just letting someone else do all the work.
Thanks for saving this STI
You make everything looks easy bro
super motivated to sort out bodywork on my project car !cheers 1
It looks a hell of a lot better
New video just in time for break time
Need to see you build a metal wide body kit for the car. Looks nice the repair
Nice work Devin, I've found switching to .025 wire on thin body panels works better for not burning through as easy.
important make sure u always disconnect the battery when welding you can mess up ecu or system of the car sometimes.
great welding by the way 🔥
Sweet vid dude and for future caulking projects there is a poker on your lil gun to put a hole in the tube 😀
Bro I love your GRIND (get it? Welding episode? No?) no shit, you have stuff, you do em', lots of respect
Your videos make me wanna work on my cars lol love watching them keep up the good work man

When Bobbi comes it's gonna be a fun video 😅✌️
Devin about to go deep down the welding rabbit hole … he’ll be TIG fabricating soon

a grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t!
Those playlist be having me zoned out lol love the music choice
Get a flap disc for that grinder to make those welds alot smoother.
daily content 🔥🔥🔥 keep it up devin!
Well done Devin, fixing someone else's mess !!
GOOD EFFORT DEV!
Freakin loving this music haha
Welding is a shit tonne harder than it looks!! I found out the hard way . Wrecked a motorcycle exhaust 🤣
Heck yeah another video by the one and only amazing car enthusiast Devin!!!!!!!!
I would’ve used weld through primer to prevent rust in the fenders
That $400 trip added up quick lol

Canada's Harbor Freight is Princess Auto...

Handled that like a pro
Before your seam sealer dries you can use a wax and grease remover to smooth it out like 🧈butter

Finally something I’m better than devin at.. welding 😆

Love your videos man, they always make my day🔥
Dammm my boi does everything
You should have put some etching primer on then the seam sealer then the undercoating
Best part of my day💯
Your are the Best
You’ve been watching too many big boi videos, that’s a baaaaaaaaad dude right there!
airgun grinder with a small blade woulda work magic on recutting that
Make sure the battery in the car is disconnected but keep it going love the content
Try using a sanding wheel instead of a cutting wheel. It will help smooth out the welds.
Your Evo cold starts are just different🤩 shame you didn't include them😭
You could have used a flap disc on the grinder to clean up the arches. Just a idea.
As someone that has bought both expensive and cheap tools i would advise just buying the good ones once. It will be cheaper in the long run and your experience will be much better
U DEFINITELY Made it MORE PRETTY Devin🤔👌🏻.
Precaution: Always put that guard on the grinder bro....for your own protection♥️💪
Great effort Devin 👌🏼
There is no one else than could make a welder sound sexy 😁😁
Your exedy shirts are fire.
everybody's gotta learn on something at some point!
If your not first your last. SHAKE AND BAKE.
Please use a guard on the angle grinder and ear plugs
Why doesnt it have sti calipers on it? Did the previous owner get rid of them for some reason? Those breaks look like the wrx breaks not sti
Should of just practise welded some similar thin material to give yourself a good idea how it will react but keep up the good work man your car always look so mental when finished 👍
Man when are you and Austin going to collab? You both do nice work
TiGs best left for stainless brother
Nice rides but coming from mini trucks and welding cover your windows even when grinding or those sparks are going to mess them up.
Let's be fair this redone widebody lineis better than 80 percent of the ones you see.
Good Job… Hausss 🔥💯👌🏽

Nice work bro.... you "is a" natural.. hahhaa
There is a different type of gas you us for aluminum so it doesn’t melt and make a hole so it should be easier
Shoulda got a Lincoln mig welder from Home Depot bro
Reach out to Everlast for your welder needs they usually will support larger channels like yours with equipment to fit your needs.
Did you detached the battery before welding?
My cheap wedding helmet works great
Bro that's shit looks amazing
May I ask why this Sti has floating rear calipers instead of brembos lol
He explained in the vid that he bought the car. It had all the STI parts stolen off it so the previous owner replaced with wrx parts. 👍
@@stevekocinski8595 thanks for the explanation I just Ive been busy and this is the first video of this series I watched lol
Time to invest in some fire extinguishers for the shop
Should have block sanded 600 grit before spraying the undercoating.
Should of picked up a hand held cut off wheel, Get into them tight angles a lot easier.
This car needs a professional body shop TLC to get it right. Reach out to Mr Bob see if you can do a collab like you did the last time on Bobby's car.
should've primed before you seam seal
If you guys didn’t know. Devin wants it to look mint, even though it’s under the kit 😂😂
Itsjust6 had the same problem
