In 2001 I was on a pilgrimage tour to Fatima and Lourdes and our priest was Fr. Philip Pavich, a Franciscan. He was very emphatic about staying away from Medjugorje. He had worked there for ten years and left because he came to believe that what was happening there was demonic. This stuck with me ever since and I have avoided all things Medjugorje. Sadly, at my parish it is very popular destination and devotion among the laity and the priest.
This is very interesting because so many of the followers of medjugorje Say that you have to experience it first and they completely wash away all of the people who have experienced it and saw it for the negative it was.
Fr Philip left his parish along the Sea of Galilee to go to Medjugorje in the very early days, translating the messages into English: once his eyes were opened he discovered many unsettling aspects of the place. Our Lady is gracious and allows graces to fall on those who love her but the disobedience shown by the ‘seers’ and priests at the very beginning should be sufficient to show that, if anyone was appearing, it could not be her.

I’ve been concerned for awhile about traveling hours away to climb a mountain/ hill to be there when right down the street Jesus is truly present in the tabernacle of the Altar in the Catholic Church . Also in Adoration I can be with Jesus , and the Virgin Mary is there with him as well .

My wife grew up with Charismatic Catholics bc her parents were involved with it. Her experiences were awful and it turned her off to a lot of Catholicism. However when she met me and my more conservative Catholic family she was surprised and learned so much more about our Faith. Thankfully her parents changed too.
Since I started to go exclusively to the TLM, I noted the my friends in the NO are actually always searching for apparitions or people (like Mark Mallet) who have "visions". Experienceing the beauty and truth through the liturgy and Holy Eucharist with true love of the Holy Trinity, is life changing. I travel 2 hrs each way through a low mountain range for Mass, no need to travel around the world to to be converted to a "one world religion". Get in your car, listen to Gregorian chant, pray the Rosary and go to the traditional Mass! 🙏
Our Queen of Peace from Medjugorje brought me to TLM. God works in mysterious ways do not let your heart be harsh but rather pray for those who are still lost and confused. 🙏🏼

@wyomingpark This quote by saint John of The cross actually has to do with meeting spiritual direction and a Bishop. Having revelations is one thing, but submitting them to the church is another. Medjugorje seers have not done this.
I just returned home from two weeks in Medugorje. I am from Tecumseh,Ontario, only two hours from you. We have the same local Bishop. What I experienced in Medugorje was a profound sense of peace. We attended mass twice a day. The English mass was at St.James church every morning at 10:00. There were always at least twenty or more priests on the altar at every mass. Each day a new priest lead the mass and said the homily. Many had become priests after visiting Medugorje only once. And their lives were changed for ever. At communion most priests insisted on giving communion on the tongue. That doesn’t happen in the majority of churches in Canada. The outdoor mass EVERY night had no less than 30 to 40 priests to serve 8000 people. The fruits of this place are numerous. Most apparitions are not approved by the church for many many years, sometimes waiting until the visionaries have passed away. I understand the churches caution. They cannot make a mistake. You really should do your homework. You relied on one Catholic news agency. That’s like me listening to only CBC, or CNN news. Please, do further research and forget the charismatic dialogue, it’s totally incorrect. There are at least 50 confessionals, and priest hearing confessions everyday from 5:00 until 9:00 or until everyone has been heard. The line ups are incredible. My church offers confession every Saturday for 1 1/2 hours or by special appointment if a priest is available. Everyone living in Medugorje is Catholic. Our blessed mother’s message are always the same, pray the rosary, attend mass, go to confession, fast, and keep the five first Saturdays. Pray, Pray, Pray.

If you ever study the montonists, which were a heretical group that Tertullian joined, when he left the one true holy Catholic and apostolic church... Hi, i'm Croatian,ex-medjugorje follower. When a croatian grows up with the gospa (like myself) he learns one thing very quickly: don’t question. You can question Marija Bristria, Trsat, even Lourdes but you can’t question Medjugorje. You can question the holy mother church, priests, saints, even the pope but never the Lady of the Franciscans. If you question, you will get yelled at, they call you names, they become very aggressive and attack you in the most perverted ways. I heard Medjugorje believers use words which criminals in prison wouldn’t use. Only to defend what THEY experienced in Bosnia. „I“ experienced something there so „IT must be true“. Any catholic who truly loves the holy mother church (without her you can’t love christ) and investigates with an open heart, will never believe this nonsense. My eyes were opened when a person i know, an atonement soul told me that the moment she went there her guardian angel told her “here it’s all about Money“ and she never went there back again. At first i tried to ignore such comment but knowing the person and her love for the church and for our Blessed Lady i started to investigate and by the grace of GOD everything made sense. Especially the passive aggressive behavior of the followers made sense. Disobedience and pride at every corner.
I am Croatian too. I went Medjegorje in 1984. And I believed it for a very long time. I am now 74 years old and I am not in a diocese that offers the TLM. AMDG!!! I will do the best I can with the Novus Ordo
Fruits can beheld anywhere the sacraments are provided by Catholic church. There was nothing divine and 4 bishops said no. The best book on Medjugorje was by Michael Davies. Much disobedience during the whole affair. None of the “visionaries” had a religious vocation. Folks should stick to authentic church approved apparitions like Lourdes, Fatima, Akita.

I used to be an atheist before I went to medugorje now I'm a Roman Catholic thanks to the miracles and experiences I had in medugorje all the messages I read and was taught there where to convert read the Bible ,fast, pray from the heart and especially the Rosary confession at least once a month go to mass as much as possible and take the Eucharist all the masses and priest in medugorje are Roman Catholic are you sure you're not taking things out of context

I myself am an example of the fruits of Medjugorie. My return to my faith occurred as a result of what I experienced in Medjugorie. That was over 20 years ago and all the numerous miracles that I have experienced since my visit. I take exception to your personal statements but you are entitled to your opinion. I have lead my whole family back to the Catholic Church. I do not see myself as radical or charismatic nor do I speak in tongue. What I can tell you is that Our Blessed Mother literally saved my soul in Medjugorie.

In the 1980's Pope John Paul II requested Catholics to refrain from visiting Medjugorje since it was not yet approved. So, I went to Fatima instead. Upon reading some of the supposed statements of the "apparition," I thought them to be incorrect dogma and a form of syncretism.
It appears to me that if Medjugorje is from the devil it's not very intelligent of him as there have been millions of conversions back to the Catholic faith. If it were not for Medjugorje my husband would not have converted and I would not have found my way back to the faith I was baptised into at the age of 3weeks. I truly believe we should judge this apparition on its fruits.
Your right judge the so-called apparitions on it's fruits. I'm guessing your husband was not one of the seers, so I doubt it was the so-called apparitions that caused his conversion, nor was it "Medjugorje", I would put it to you that it was the results of the Sacraments and God that brought your husband and millions of others as you put it to come to the faith. The fruits of the so-called apparitions have brought lies, deceit, corruption, greed to name some. Yet people don't want the facts, but they love the feelings.
Not necessarily the catholic faith....Medjugorge people believe in many heresies such as salvation outside the church. Believing in falsities can be very harmful to spiritual life and modern Christians are blind to this fact.
You can say whatever, but I think that something supernatural is happening in Medjugorje, and it has been happening for more than 40 years that is amazing. All of this reminds me of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, there were people that said some pretty awful things about her, same thing with St. Padre Pio. I haven't been in Medjugorje but I believe in What Father Calloway says and his conversion and many others; nothing is impossible for God.

Oh boy. I can see the comments already that many are defending Medjugorge and some even Garabandal. Both have serious issues and just because it makes you feel good and aids you doesn't mean these places are good. At least one "seer" in Medjugorge has done quite well financially and married a beauty queen I believe. That is from legitimate sources. I don't know why many Catholics are drawn to these places, especially when they are not Church approved. Why go to these places without the approval? Those who are involved in these kinds of places aren't exactly great either. In my situation, I made a comment about Garabandal on social media and was verbally abused by the "representative" for Conchita here. I repeated what was said to my mom and my grandmother, both strong Catholics. They were horrified. My grandmother knew someone who knew about things in Medjugorge. She wanted to go so bad. Her friend told her, through knowledge she had, that going there would not be good and that she would be in danger. She would be exposing herself to some bad things. My grandmother never went. Folks, we have approved apparitions. Stop looking at "seers" and "apparitions" that have no approval. You are treading on dangerous ground and relying on how good you feel and your own judgment.

God is so good. A wayward Catholic brought back to the church through a book written by a protestant who later converted to be a Catholic. I have been to Medjugorje. I hope to live to see the day we have our communities in the United States and worldwide saying the rosary together and going to Mass daily and have daily adoration.
I grew up in a small rural town in Puerto Rico. My mother told me that a group of charismatics join a priest and move to live in some sort of a cave with their families, including children. They were waiting for the end of the world. The priest was "separated" from the church and they stopped going to church. Eventually, when the end of the world did not come, some of them quietly started going to church.
Thank you for this. As a fellow Puerto Rican, it’s sad to say that a great majority of our people mix Catholicism with the demonic. People really need to learn how demons work are allowed to work. Fr. Ripperger’s videos on demons and his book Dominion are excellent. I highly recommend them.

I know priests that are convinced it’s real and taking Catholics from local parishes on pilgrimage to this site and saying miracles are happening there. The parishioners come back from pilgrimage sharing miracles they feel that they’ve experienced. This confused me tremendously, so I didn’t judge Medjugorje as false but what you have shared has convinced me that it’s false.
To knock Medjugorje is a bold but pretty stupid move. I'm from Australia and have been to Medjugorje 3 times. I look at the FRUITS...Those conversion stories are real and lasting. Many family reconciliations took place during or following the pilgrimages. As to why Our Lady still appears daily, well, just look at the state our world is in - abortions, mercy killings, wars of all kinds, immorality. As for the messages that seem to be the same; how many have not heard of these messages and if those who have heard, how many persevere in living out those messages. It takes HUMILITY to appreciate, understand and live those messages.

I was never sure about why the Church has not approved it as authentic. Kennedy has opened my mind to this Truth. Now, that being said, I feel that many conversions and personal miracles are happening to people but it is not by apparitions at Medjugorje but rather God, who can do all things even if a supposed apparition site is real or not. Conversions can happen when a person desires it, prays, or God given grace. I could go to a prayer group and experience healing or answered prayer intentions but that doesn’t make it an official approved happening by the Church because it was not a supernatural healing for all to approve. The Bishop ought to know if Medjugorje is truly experiencing the criteria for supernatural. He does not declare this just by people having personal prayers answered or personal conversions. It has to be SUPERNATURAL.

Medjugorie was a big part of my reversion back to the church. I say the rosary , and fast, and go to regular cofessiin because of the messsges. You neglect to mention that it has been officially declared a place of prayer. It is very different from Fatima, and needs to be treated differently from Fatima because of its duration. You should read Miryannas book My Heart will Truimph for a first hand account from an " alledged" visionary
I believe that Medj is a place of prayer. But not a true apparition site. The difference is that I can go to many wonderful places to pray and make a donation. I would not spend any of my money at Medj, nor would I put money in Miryanna's pocket by buying her book.

Our Lady has a definitely personality. She is quiet, reserved and yet confident and commanding. In true apparitions, she appears, tells the visionary what needs to be said and then she goes way. She doesn't dish about the weather or her best laundry secrets. She isn't redundant. This comes through in Blessed Catherine Emmerich's visions, it come through at Guadalupe, Fatima and Lourdes and all other authentic apparitions. It's ludicrous to think that Our Lady would ramble on to the visionaries for 40 years.
Yes...my experience is she is short,calm,to the point. And she doesn't repeat herself ...she knows you've understood, and nothing more is needed. Balls in our court at that point, so to speak.

The main part of the message was given at the beginning. As I understand it, the ongoing messages are about forming the visionaries, helping the pilgrims, and reminding the rest of us to stay on target.
I wouldn't poo poo Medjugorje. It was part of my radical reversion back to the faith, and I have conservative doctrine backed up by centuries of saintly teachings. Jim Walberg was radically transformed, Father Don Calloway as well as countless reversions. We were well on our way to hell, and something intrigued us about this site. I have been madly in love with Mary and Jesus since.

@@MereTradition There is a difference between quantity - numbers - and conversion. If people are truly repenting, getting to confession, and coming back to the Faith - I'm not going to knock that. As far discernment - I haven't gone, I'm not planning to go, but do know one person that went and can attest that it drew her closer to Christ. I think it is important to be prudent and cautious, but also humble.

I'm amazed and shocked at the number of devotees of Medjugorge in the Novus Ordo church. I'm in my 60s and remember the alleged messages regarding religious indifference. That alone told me it was false. Rosaries alleging turning into gold is dark magic alchemy, in my opinion. Its all very strange.
I certainly wouldn’t want one of my rosaries turning gold. I was able to bring one to Gower Missouri to touch it to the burial veil that was on the face of sister Wilhelmina. Since it is now a third class relic I definitely would not want the beads or the metal to “turn gold”.
Dear Mr. Hall, I was healed At Medjugorje in October2023. After walking Cross Mountain my plantar fasciitis totally disappeared. There is real faith in Jesus there. Our Lord Jesus and His Mother are recruiting an army of prayer warriors. Medjogorje is beautiful. What does Mary say? Pray the rosary, go to confession, receive the Eucharist, fast and read the Bible. The 5 stones seem pretty Catholic to me.
I take everything u say these days with a pinch of salt after u wrote of the Novus Ordu. I was born into the Novus Ordu tradition and never attended attended attended a traditional Latin Mass yet am very Conservative. Remember, even Faustina Kowalska's Divine Mercy devotion was also seriously under attack until Pope John Paul II came along
One thing I’ve always found sketchy about Medjugorje is that none of the alleged seers entered religious life. Obviously, it’s not a requirement for those who claim to have seen Our Blessed Mother to become religious, but historically that’s generally been the case.
That was for a reason. One) they would not have had the apparitions as is.and 2) in world were the Sacrament of marriage is desecrated. To teach us God calls all to sanctity. Example the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux
One of the latest messages from Texas, Divine Mercy mission [heads up] ...Virgin Mary said she was not pleased that people were disapproving or ignoring her messages at Medjegoria. (not exact quote). Discernment. I have agreed with many who have their doubts about Medjegoria, therefore this new series of messages coming from Texas should be careful about authenticity.
When I first began to look into Medjugorje and read the messages, I thought to myself, that doesn’t sound like Mary’s words. Especially since the last message is always, Thank you for having responded to my call!!! I’ve never believed it’s real!

Mr. Hall, I had a life changing conversion at Medjugorje and know many others who had the same experience as well. By God's Grace, I am a daily Latin Mass attendee, go to daily Adoration, and receive the Holy Eucharist daily, pray the Holy Rosary daily, fast twice a week, and go to weekly Confession.I don't know if the apparitions are happening but I know what I experienced. Say what you will. Your podcast title is not very charitable. Typical of what people say about Traditional Catholics, and I consider myself one. You sound angry!

I read a book before I became a widow, "How to Change Your Husband," from someone who went to Medjugorje, and it was life changing. For over 11 years I have attended the TLM. What does this mean? I realize that modernism in our church has separated Catholics since Vatican II. Private revelation does not have to be followed nor believed in order for our salvation. Once again, I see separation amongst Catholics on this apparition. I choose not to follow this and not fight about it. It's my choice, and I would rather not be confused as God is not a God of confsion. Food for thought, speaking in tongues was used in the early church to be understood by others in different languages to help convert them to the faith. Why do we need speaking in tongues now? Just pray about where this intent is all going in a bigger picture. A NEW RELIGION? The devil will give many truths then throw in one lie, then he has our attention elsewhere. Peace be with you!

Please don't allow Kennedy's lies and slanders to deceive you. He's a theological hack, some recent supposed convert, and doesn't know what he's talking about. The charisms were given to the Church when the Lord poured out His Spirit on Pentecost. You can read about the gifts in St. Paul's writings, mostly in 1 Corinthians. Why the gift of tongues? Paul says it's a sign. He also says it builds up the individual and the Church. He also says we talk to God and we utter mysteries in the Spirit.

I strongly urge people to read Donal Foley’s books on Medjugorje. They will make clear how many problems there are with this place, the “seers” themselves, the corruption there, the money, and worse. One of the former “seers” married a beauty contest winner and lives in comfort (as they all do) in the US. I don’t think Our Lady would want us to follow a pattern of lies.

Here in Pensacola, Fl the Brownsville “revival” happened. Local newspaper was patient and held off any judgement until money got into it. I went and it was awful. The convulsions and head shaking was repulsive. Lots of bravado from the pulpit. Until there is repentance and wailing from a outpouring of conviction in the Vatican the flock will continue to look for help elsewhere they’re so tired from treading water.
Our former pastor is very attached to Medjugorje & makes pilgrimages there with other friends from our parish. We remain friendly bc we are willing to exchange views. One big concern is their promotion of Birmingham Caritas, a classic cult if ever there was one. Mother Angelica cautioned us to avoid it. One of the original Medjugorje girls has gone there several times & had visions on order. Even the Medjugorje people don't like it. What a tangled weave.

The Ruini commission's report, as far as I know, has never been made public. How hypocritical of some of those who now say that any future Bishop there should just say it is of supernatural origin if he feels it is so (follow his conscience) - even though the current document does not allow this. This is hypocritical - as the current and past Bishops followed their conscience and the supporters of Medjugorje didnt like that.
I heard a story from a guy who booked Catholic speakers for a living. He said that he saw a contract sent by Ivan-one of the Medjugorje seers- for a prospective event. Ivan wanted 15k to show up along with various other perks, and he guaranteed an apparition of the BVM at the event for the money. So Ivan bids Mary, and tells her when and where to show up? I heard this guy on a podcast that I don’t remember the details of and so it is hearsay and I cannot guarantee it, but I believe that it is what I heard the man say, and I found him credible. Make of it what you will. It is alleged.

Yes. I get a lot out of Bible study, Jesus' words and teachings, religious books or daily meditations, going to Adoration, Mass, listening to good spiritual talks by priests on youtube, or group rosary at Church once a month. No need to travel half way around the world.
I once knew a priest who was very into both Medjugorie and the charismatic renewal, went to Medjugorie, etc… A few years later I found out that he swung the other direction THROUGH the SSPX and out to the SSPX Resistance.
Father Chris Alar has been to Medjugorje and believes Mary is appearing there. All I can say is, very confusing times and NO ONE has a lock on what’s going on about this and other Catholic things. If I am not mistaken, there was a movie promoting Medjugorie a few years ago that was a success. I never watched it but know of some people who came back to the faith because of it. That's great, but people should hang their faith on what has always sustained Catholics: the example set by Jesus and the Apostles in Scripture, the lives of the saints and the fulfillment of the sacraments.

After a visit she made it a yearly thing, eventually she spent all of her family’s money saved for college, and took out a second mortgage without telling her husband. They lost their house. Brother i dont care about medgugorie but have a rest from havin a shot at charismatic renewal. In sydney Australia the renewal is doing so much good for the church. All renewal members are devout Catholics and the good news is getting preached. People are being healed and set free from bad stuff. And most importantly we are learning to Love God more and more. Do some podcasts on the love of God. Something positive to help your fellow Christians in thier faith. Jesus is alive brother. Not time for sadness.

I appreciate the doubts that might arise listening to only one Patriarch (In this instance, Patriarch of Rome) but when you have all the ancient patriarchs, who were isolated from each other for extended periods of time, the Church Fathers, the Councils, and even Oriental Orthodox Churches who were isolated for most of their history, agree with the Charismatic movement being a modern and protestant invention, it's very likely that it is a protestant, modern invention.
I consider myself a trad and a charismatic and a believer of Garabandal and Medjugorje. But most of all I believe in Jesus Christ and being faithful. Why does one have to cancel the other out? Why are you so so bitter and angry at those that look to be close to Jesus with a true heart? I believe in a God of miracles and his mother of love for her children. People are on different paths of their faith journey and your negativity lacks holiness. You seem deeply unhappy. We are all different parts of one body. Many Catholic saints and theologians who are exegetes of the Scriptures have explained what the speaking in tongues is. The understanding of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal about speaking in tongues is based on Protestant explanations of the Scriptures, and as such is not authentic.

Wow, this is extremely sad, are we not all children of God? Are we not all supposed to be brother's and sister's in Christ? Bickering and thinking we know it all. I've been to Medjugorje and experienced great healing there. Mass, confession, Adoration, peace, friendship, and so much love. I know so many young boys and girls, all addicts, travelled with them for 5 years and have seen miracles happen in their lives, a young boy that was wheel chair bound, now walking. I could go on and on. If ye haven't anything nice to say, maybe just say a prayer. So many commenting on Medjugorje, yet have never been. God help us all, no wonder the World is in such a state, when believers in Almighty God can't even be civil to one another. All good right now is being attacked. We just need to keep strong in the Catholic faith and PRAY PRAY PRAY!!! I experienced the same peace and saw my nephew, who was a drug addict, go to confession there and adoration, and the peace in his face was amazing. He now is a deacon. I saw many more miracles there. The charisms are part of Sacred Tradition. Paul teaches on them specifically in Sacred Scripture. The Lord wants to fill his children with the Holy Spirit and empower them to build up the Church.
You are correct, Mr. Hall, the bit about the Holy Spirit guiding people instead of the Church is a lot of nonsense. I find dealing with these Charismatic types is like dealing with the many different Protestants I knew in Mississippi and other Southerners (and absolutely I have nothing against Southerners. I grew up as one.) Me, myself, and I and the Holy Spirit is a part of Protestantism and now the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. And in our United States, we are such a Extended Adolescent people. So much is about feelings. I am 76 and converted ti Catholicism in 1970. I have made a private study on much of this. Another thing, notice our music now during mass. If its lyrics have personal pronouns (I, me, my, we, us) it is usually more about "We, the people" than about God or our Blessed Mother.
The CCR does not teach people to ignore the teaching of the Church. They teach people to follow the CCC. You might want to crack open a Bible and a CCC and learn about the commandment to not bear false witness.
I went to medjugorge in 1995. I've seen some good, but I have no authority to declare anything. I do, however, know many people who follow medjugorge, and all I can say is there is something lacking in their understanding of the faith. A lot of basic things. 😮
I was there in 1995 just around the war coming to a stop. Saw amazing things with others and in our group and so much love when Our Lady the beautiful Virgin Mary was appearing nothing compares. I believe she was showing her love to me because of all the suffering I was about to endure through life. She was telling me I am with you through it all to keep up your strength in God.

I just returned from Medjagorje the end of October 2024. I felt uncomfortable being there most of the time. During adoration of the blessed sacrament with thousands in attendance the musicians actually sang kumbaya🙄ugh.I went to a healing mass but unbeknownst to me it was the slaying of the holy spirit. Which I heard of before but never did any research on it. People were falling over. I couldn't wait to get out of there. My pilgrimage leader described visions she was having and while saying the rosary at viskas apartment, in which she adlibbed some of the rosary and prayed like a pentecostal I couldn't wait until it was over. It was cringe. I enjoyed climbing cross mountain and once during adoration another night it was reverent with thousands praying in silence. That was beautiful. However, I never will go again. I wish I had looked into Medjagorje more thoroughly but I trusted my sister who had been there six times. She is in favor of traditional latin mass but mostly ignores the weird stuff at Medjagorje. Anyways, my take. I encourage approved apparitions for anyone considering a pilgrimage just not Medjagorje.

You cant just decide for yourself whats from God or The Blessed Mother .. I’m sad because of this. I am a young girl who was lost until I was given a small comment about a place where the Virgin Mary appears for about 40 years now….I started reading the first conversations with the Gospa(Mary) and started to cry. Graces starting pouring over me. My life has changed so much since for the better. I can do way more but I have a ton of baggage to let go of. @@eduardofortini4633 It is my dream to go there. I’ve heard there’s confessions in every language. 20 to 30 priests at the altar at a time sometimes. Miracles all the time. Once I wasn’t able to get up from my bed over my head was a ceiling window and I looked up earlier and couldnt keep my eyes open because the sun was too strong. Then I pleaded to Mary to help me start my day and then the sun turned purple, orange, blue red idk how many colors but it was changing beautifully and I was able to look directly at the sun. I didn’t realize until it turned back to normal and couldn’t look up anymore that it was the Gospa reminding me I am loved. And I got up that day. And I get crazy looks when I mention I am fond of medjugorje. I’ve came to stand firm. Thanks to Mary 🙏🙂
Amongst Croats (Croatia) "Međugorje" is a huge subject, to the point people declare one is not a Catholic if he/she says a word against Međugorje. Though Međugorje is in Bosnia and Hercegovina, one should know that Bosnia and Hercegovina is a country with 3 nations: Croats (catholics), Bošnjaci (muslims) and Serbs (orthodox). Međugorje is considered as a croatian/ catholic little town, that is the reason it is a huge religious subject in Croatia. One thing mr. Kennedy you did not mention is the true fact, not so much known, that the true conflict from day one in Međugorje is a conflict amongst Franciscans, those who were excommunicated by the Pope and others who were not. The reason was not Međugorje, but it stayed connected. The Franciscan order was always very strong in Bosnia and Hercegovina. So, during the 90's when communist Yugoslawia fell apart (Thank you Lord) there was an oppinion and still is, that at least one of the Bishops involved in Međugorje was a spy for the Yugoslaw intelligence called "UDBA", and that he was infiltrated from communists/ freemasons, to tell "no" to Međugorje. However, as you pointed out correctly, not one of all the Bishops since then approved Međugorje. So the subject that an anti catholic intelligence service would deny Medugorje is just stupid. But I am telling you how people think to this day about that subject. The general problem is that people think if one says Međugorje never happened - he must be anticatholic. Which is pure nonsense. Međugorje had before 1981 a church and has today. The Eucharist and mass is correctly offered, also all sacraments. And as you pointed out correctly, if God allows miracles, they can happen also in Međugorje, or in everyone's heart, or backyard or wherever. I visited Međugorje during the pandemic, during the time no travelers even were there, I was nearby and told myself "go and see". It was sad to see no candles no flowers, nothing. I spoke to local people about that. And some of them pointed to the church, saying like go to the church and attend mass, forget about these "things", they were not directly saying they do not believe in the apparitions, but it was clear they do not believe. Incredible, people who have souvenir shops a few meter down the apparition hill do not believe in these Međugorje apparitions. Also, I asked the question why the cross down the hill by the entry is painted in blue, it seems like the colour of Međugorje, and one old man told me they picked the blue because they had no other colour in the village (because Međugorje is in fact small) back at the time in 1981., but let people believe that Our Lady picked the colour. Suma summarum: many people there think the apparitions were and still are a fraud. I am a true traditional catholic. If Latin Mass was around the corner I would attend. So I attend mass led by franciscans near the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Ok. There was one apparition in Međugorje at the beginning of the pandemic, when Our Lady, according to Mirjana (leading appariton seer today) said that there will be no apparitions during the pandemic. That was the first time I really laughed, but with sadness, because this is a mockery of Our Blessed Virgin Mary, The Mother of God. As a Croat I can only say I am happy that Pope Francis did not say from the balcony on St. Peter that Međugorje is a fraud. Because it would put forever a black spot on Croats. My mother had a copy of an original 1989 Medjugorje bulletin and I reviewed it about 11 years ago, and it contained a massive error in its theology - I hope I can find it again and distribute it

Surely you cannot ignore the many fruits which came from Medjugorie. Just to name a few: Fr. Calloway, Fr. Leon, Fr. Mark Beard (Eternal Rest Grant Unto him O' Lord), Fr. Dan Reehil. Our dear Bishop Strickland traveled to Medjugorie and has stated, "the controversy for me is gone" "I just believe Mary has visited here".

You mention a number of clerics who may be good and devout men. However, I am not going to idolize them, at least not yet, because in recent years, time and time again there have been clerics who were looked up to and even idolized, and who later were revealed to be bad men. What I do know is that certain clerics who played a significant role at Medjugorje right at the start have definitely revealed themselves to be bad men, such as Fr Jozo Zofko, Fr Tomislav Vlasic and Fr Ivica Vego. Of course that affects the way I - and many other Catholics - view Medjugorje. You ask if I know the testimonies of the clerics you mention. I could equally ask if you know the testimonies of bishop Zanic and bishop Peric, men especially appointed by a mandate from Jesus Christ Himself to watch over the spiritual welfare of their flock. Is their testimony not worth anything? And what about numerous other good and devout clerics who have pointed out the problems with Medjugorje? Why should their testimony be ignored? And why should anyone take the testimonies of one set of clerics over the testimonies of another set? If you out of your enthusiasm choose to ignore the testimony of legitimate bishops and reliable priests who have pointed out heresies associated with Medjugorje, sure that's your choice, but you shouldn't hold it against faithful Catholics who take legitimate bishops seriously, and who are deeply concerned that the body of the faithful is being poisoned by heresies under the pretext of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Were not the seers stealing apples when they supposedly had an encounter with Mary? The children of Fatima were praying the Rosary and looking after the sheep. Also, Mary’s feet are never described, for they could not see her feet, unlike Lourdes and Fatima. The deceiver can never completely appear as our Virgin Mother….possible cloven hoof?

If Our Blessed Mother appeared only once in Knock, Ireland and said no words yet conveyed a powerful message how could we accept that the same Blessed Mother is appearing for 42 years with a million messages just to say pray and convert?!! All these comments talk about the fruits which is great if they are true conversions but can anyone honestly explain the meaning of any of the messages besides pray fast convert? What has come to pass? Still secrets being given for 42years. Did it take Our Lady of Lourdes or Our Lady of Fatima 42 years. How can anyone believe this?
Did you know that there were apparitions in France of Our Lady Of Laus, 1664 to 1718? 54 years, fully approved by the church? That's more years than Medjugorjie. You cannot discount an apparition just because it didn't happen like it did in "Fatima" or Lourdes", or because it's happening for very long. I imagine at the time many would have scoffed as well about the apparitions happening for too long or the messages of conversion being repetitive. We clearly need that repetition, what with the way the world is becoming worse. We must be careful that we do not attack something good that God may be doing just because we can't see the full picture yet and prefer to things to go as they did before, meeting all our expectations of what an apparition should be like. If it's not for us it may very well be for the countless who go there needing conversion

Claims of conversion do not make these authentic apparitions , the messages are more then repetitive, they say nothing, Lourdes was about the confirming of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, Fatima was the warning of communism and the consecration of Russia, first five Saturdays etc. these messages serve no purpose, they are so generic and vague so no one can accuse them being against church teachings. In 2001 I was on a pilgrimage tour to Fatima and Lourdes and our priest was Fr. Philip Pavich, a Franciscan. He was very emphatic about staying away from Medjugorje. He had worked there for ten years and left because he came to believe that what was happening there was demonic. This stuck with me ever since and I have avoided all things Medjugorje. Sadly, at my parish it is very popular destination and devotion among the laity and the priest.

This is very interesting because so many of the followers of medjugorje Say that you have to experience it first and they completely wash away all of the people who have experienced it and saw it for the negative it was.
Fr Philip left his parish along the Sea of Galilee to go to Medjugorje in the very early days, translating the messages into English: once his eyes were opened he discovered many unsettling aspects of the place. Our Lady is gracious and allows graces to fall on those who love her but the disobedience shown by the ‘seers’ and priests at the very beginning should be sufficient to show that, if anyone was appearing, it could not be her.

My wife grew up with Charismatic Catholics bc her parents were involved with it. Her experiences were awful and it turned her off to a lot of Catholicism. However when she met me and my more conservative Catholic family she was surprised and learned so much more about our Faith. Thankfully her parents changed too.
Since I started to go exclusively to the TLM, I noted the my friends in the NO are actually always searching for apparitions or people (like Mark Mallet) who have "visions". Experienceing the beauty and truth through the liturgy and Holy Eucharist with true love of the Holy Trinity, is life changing. I travel 2 hrs each way through a low mountain range for Mass, no need to travel around the world to to be converted to a "one world religion". Get in your car, listen to Gregorian chant, pray the Rosary and go to the traditional Mass! 🙏

I just returned home from two weeks in Medugorje. I am from Tecumseh,Ontario, only two hours from you. We have the same local Bishop. What I experienced in Medugorje was a profound sense of peace. We attended mass twice a day. The English mass was at St.James church every morning at 10:00. There were always at least twenty or more priests on the altar at every mass. Each day a new priest lead the mass and said the homily. Many had become priests after visiting Medugorje only once. And their lives were changed for ever. At communion most priests insisted on giving communion on the tongue. That doesn’t happen in the majority of churches in Canada. The outdoor mass EVERY night had no less than 30 to 40 priests to serve 8000 people. The fruits of this place are numerous. Most apparitions are not approved by the church for many many years, sometimes waiting until the visionaries have passed away. I understand the churches caution. They cannot make a mistake. You really should do your homework. You relied on one Catholic news agency. That’s like me listening to only CBC, or CNN news. Please, do further research and forget the charismatic dialogue, it’s totally incorrect. There are at least 50 confessionals, and priest hearing confessions everyday from 5:00 until 9:00 or until everyone has been heard. The line ups are incredible. My church offers confession every Saturday for 1 1/2 hours or by special appointment if a priest is available. Everyone living in Medugorje is Catholic. Our blessed mother’s message are always the same, pray the rosary, attend mass, go to confession, fast, and keep the five first Saturdays. Pray, Pray, Pray.

Hi, i'm Croatian,ex-medjugorje follower. When a croatian grows up with the gospa (like myself) he learns one thing very quickly: don’t question.
You can question Marija Bristria, Trsat, even Lourdes but you can’t question Medjugorje.
You can question the holy mother church, priests, saints, even the pope but never the Lady of the Franciscans. If you question, you will get yelled at, they call you names, they become very aggressive and attack you in the most perverted ways. I heard Medjugorje believers use words which criminals in prison wouldn’t use. Only to defend what THEY experienced in Bosnia. „I“ experienced something there so „IT must be true“.
Any catholic who truly loves the holy mother church (without her you can’t love christ) and investigates with an open heart, will never believe this nonsense.
My eyes were opened when a person i know, an atonement soul told me that the moment she went there her guardian angel told her “here it’s all about Money“ and she never went there back again. At first i tried to ignore such comment but knowing the person and her love for the church and for our Blessed Lady i started to investigate and by the grace of GOD everything made sense. Especially the passive aggressive behavior of the followers made sense. Disobedience and pride at every corner.
I am Croatian too. I went Medjegorje in 1984. And I believed it for a very long time. I am now 74 years old and I am not in a diocese that offers the TLM. AMDG!!! I will do the best I can with the Novus Ordo

Fruits can beheld anywhere the sacraments are provided by Catholic church. There was nothing divine and 4 bishops said no. The best book on Medjugorje was by Michael Davies. Much disobedience during the whole affair. None of the “visionaries” had a religious vocation. Folks should stick to authentic church approved apparitions like Lourdes, Fatima, Akita.

In the 1980's Pope John Paul II requested Catholics to refrain from visiting Medjugorje since it was not yet approved. So, I went to Fatima instead. Upon reading some of the supposed statements of the "apparition," I thought them to be incorrect dogma and a form of syncretism.
It appears to me that if Medjugorje is from the devil it's not very intelligent of him as there have been millions of conversions back to the Catholic faith. If it were not for Medjugorje my husband would not have converted and I would not have found my way back to the faith I was baptised into at the age of 3weeks. I truly believe we should judge this apparition on its fruits.
Your right judge the so-called apparitions on it's fruits. I'm guessing your husband was not one of the seers, so I doubt it was the so-called apparitions that caused his conversion, nor was it "Medjugorje", I would put it to you that it was the results of the Sacraments and God that brought your husband and millions of others as you put it to come to the faith.

You can say whatever, but I think that something supernatural is happening in Medjugorje, and it has been happening for more than 40 years that is amazing. All of this reminds me of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, there were people that said some pretty awful things about her, same thing with St. Padre Pio. I haven't been in Medjugorje but I believe in What Father Calloway says and his conversion and many others; nothing is impossible for God.

Oh boy. I can see the comments already that many are defending Medjugorge and some even Garabandal. Both have serious issues and just because it makes you feel good and aids you doesn't mean these places are good. At least one "seer" in Medjugorge has done quite well financially and married a beauty queen I believe. That is from legitimate sources. I don't know why many Catholics are drawn to these places, especially when they are not Church approved. Why go to these places without the approval? Those who are involved in these kinds of places aren't exactly great either. In my situation, I made a comment about Garabandal on social media and was verbally abused by the "representative" for Conchita here. I repeated what was said to my mom and my grandmother, both strong Catholics. They were horrified. My grandmother knew someone who knew about things in Medjugorge. She wanted to go so bad. Her friend told her, through knowledge she had, that going there would not be good and that she would be in danger. She would be exposing herself to some bad things. My grandmother never went. Folks, we have approved apparitions. Stop looking at "seers" and "apparitions" that have no approval. You are treading on dangerous ground and relying on how good you feel and your own judgment.

I grew up in a small rural town in Puerto Rico. My mother told me that a group of charismatics join a priest and move to live in some sort of a cave with their families, including children. They were waiting for the end of the world. The priest was "separated" from the church and they stopped going to church. Eventually, when the end of the world did not come, some of them quietly started going to church.

I know priests that are convinced it’s real and taking Catholics from local parishes on pilgrimage to this site and saying miracles are happening there. The parishioners come back from pilgrimage sharing miracles they feel that they’ve experienced. This confused me tremendously, so I didn’t judge Medjugorje as false but what you have shared has convinced me that it’s false.
To knock Medjugorje is a bold but pretty stupid move. I'm from Australia and have been to Medjugorje 3 times. I look at the FRUITS...Those conversion stories are real and lasting. Many family reconciliations took place during or following the pilgrimages. As to why Our Lady still appears daily, well, just look at the state our world is in - abortions, mercy killings, wars of all kinds, immorality. As for the messages that seem to be the same; how many have not heard of these messages and if those who have heard, how many persevere in living out those messages. It takes HUMILITY to appreciate, understand and live those messages.

I was never sure about why the Church has not approved it as authentic. Kennedy has opened my mind to this Truth. Now, that being said, I feel that many conversions and personal miracles are happening to people but it is not by apparitions at Medjugorje but rather God, who can do all things even if a supposed apparition site is real or not. Conversions can happen when a person desires it, prays, or God given grace. I could go to a prayer group and experience healing or answered prayer intentions but that doesn’t make it an official approved happening by the Church because it was not a supernatural healing for all to approve. The Bishop ought to know if Medjugorje is truly experiencing the criteria for supernatural. He does not declare this just by people having personal prayers answered or personal conversions. Medjugorie was a big part of my reversion back to the church. I say the rosary , and fast, and go to regular cofessiin because of the messsges. You neglect to mention that it has been officially declared a place of prayer. It is very different from Fatima, and needs to be treated differently from Fatima because of its duration. Our Lady has a definitely personality. She is quiet, reserved and yet confident and commanding. In true apparitions, she appears, tells the visionary what needs to be said and then she goes way. She doesn't dish about the weather or her best laundry secrets. She isn't redundant. This comes through in Blessed Catherine Emmerich's visions, it come through at Guadalupe, Fatima and Lourdes and all other authentic apparitions. It's ludicrous to think that Our Lady would ramble on to the visionaries for 40 years.

As far discernment - I haven't gone, I'm not planning to go, but do know one person that went and can attest that it drew her closer to Christ. I'm amazed and shocked at the number of devotees of Medjugorge in the Novus Ordo church. I'm in my 60s and remember the alleged messages regarding religious indifference. That alone told me it was false. Rosaries alleging turning into gold is dark magic alchemy, in my opinion. Its all very strange.

One thing I’ve always found sketchy about Medjugorje is that none of the alleged seers entered religious life. Obviously, it’s not a requirement for those who claim to have seen Our Blessed Mother to become religious, but historically that’s generally been the case.

I read a book before I became a widow, "How to Change Your Husband," from someone who went to Medjugorje, and it was life changing. For over 11 years I have attended the TLM. What does this mean? I realize that modernism in our church has separated Catholics since Vatican II. Private revelation does not have to be followed nor believed in order for our salvation. Once again, I see separation amongst Catholics on this apparition. I choose not to follow this and not fight about it. It's my choice, and I would rather not be confused as God is not a God of confsion. Food for thought, speaking in tongues was used in the early church to be understood by others in different languages to help convert them to the faith. Why do we need speaking in tongues now? The charisms were given to the Church when the Lord poured out His Spirit on Pentecost. You can read about the gifts in St. Paul's writings, mostly in 1 Corinthians.
Why the gift of tongues? Paul says it's a sign. He also says it builds up the individual and the Church. He also says we talk to God and we utter mysteries in the Spirit.

Here in Pensacola, Fl the Brownsville “revival” happened. Local newspaper was patient and held off any judgement until money got into it. I went and it was awful. The convulsions and head shaking was repulsive. Lots of bravado from the pulpit. Until there is repentance and wailing from a outpouring of conviction in the Vatican the flock will continue to look for help elsewhere they’re so tired from treading water.

Our former pastor is very attached to Medjugorje & makes pilgrimages there with other friends from our parish. We remain friendly bc we are willing to exchange views.
One big concern is their promotion of Birmingham Caritas, a classic cult if ever there was one. Mother Angelica cautioned us to avoid it. One of the original Medjugorje girls has gone there several times & had visions on order. Even the Medjugorje people don't like it.

The Ruini commission's report, as far as I know, has never been made public. How hypocritical of some of those who now say that any future Bishop there should just say it is of supernatural origin if he feels it is so (follow his conscience) - even though the current document does not allow this. This is hypocritical - as the current and past Bishops followed their conscience and the supporters of Medjugorje didnt like that.

I heard a story from a guy who booked Catholic speakers for a living. He said that he saw a contract sent by Ivan-one of the Medjugorje seers- for a prospective event. Ivan wanted 15k to show up along with various other perks, and he guaranteed an apparition of the BVM at the event for the money. So Ivan bids Mary, and tells her when and where to show up? I heard this guy on a podcast that I don’t remember the details of and so it is hearsay and I cannot guarantee it, but I believe that it is what I heard the man say, and I found him credible. Make of it what you will. It is alleged.

I’m Croatian American and everyone in Croatia knows it is a Mafia Organized scam! Italian journalists have done an in-depth TV investigation on it 10 yrs ago and it was bad. When did Our Lady ever say to build a Spiritual Center and not a Church? It’s a matter of time. When it will be found as a fraud it will be used as a way to destroy the Lourdes and Fatima and even Guadeloupe Shrines. With younger Catholics who no longer believe they will look at the lies of Medjugorje and turn their backs on all the approved Shrines. I pray not!
Yes. I get a lot out of Bible study, Jesus' words and teachings, religious books or daily meditations, going to Adoration, Mass, listening to good spiritual talks by priests on youtube, or group rosary at Church once a month. No need to travel half way around the world.

I once knew a priest who was very into both Medjugorie and the charismatic renewal, went to Medjugorie, etc…
A few years later I found out that he swung the other direction THROUGH the SSPX and out to the SSPX Resistance.
Father Chris Alar has been to Medjugorje and believes Mary is appearing there. All I can say is, very confusing times and NO ONE has a lock on what’s going on about this and other Catholic things. If I am not mistaken, there was a movie promoting Medjugorie a few years ago that was a success. I never watched it but know of some people who came back to the faith because of it. That's great, but people should hang their faith on what has always sustained Catholics: the example set by Jesus and the Apostles in Scripture, the lives of the saints and the fulfillment of the sacraments.
I agree that the Charismatic movement is not from God. I know from experience that the same methods are used in spiritualism, Santeria etc. it’s calling on spirits to bring divinations and luck. It’s all bad. It’s taking me 2 years working with a priest to rid myself of those unholy attachments. To be safe, stick to traditional Catholicism. God does not speak jibberish. 🙏🙏🙏

I've seen some of the golden rosaries. But to me they did not look like real gold just a more golden color like a cheap coating on the metal of the links has worn off.

I had a dear friend who got into the Charismatic crowd and she started going to Medjugorje. After a visit she made it a yearly thing, eventually she spent all of her family’s money saved for college, and took out a second mortgage without telling her husband. They lost their house. She ended up seriously mentally ill. It really is a cult.

Brother i dont care about medgugorie but have a rest from havin a shot at charismatic renewal. In sydney Australia the renewal is doing so much good for the church. All renewal members are devout Catholics and the good news is getting preached. People are being healed and set free from bad stuff. And most importantly we are learning to Love God more and more. Do some podcasts on the love of God. Something positive to help your fellow Christians in thier faith. Jesus is alive brother. Not time for sadness.

I appreciate the doubts that might arise listening to only one Patriarch (In this instance, Patriarch of Rome) but when you have all the ancient patriarchs, who were isolated from each other for extended periods of time, the Church Fathers, the Councils, and even Oriental Orthodox Churches who were isolated for most of their history, agree with the Charismatic movement being a modern and protestant invention, it's very likely that it is a protestant, modern invention.
I consider myself a trad and a charismatic and a believer of Garabandal and Medjugorje. But most of all I believe in Jesus Christ and being faithful. Why does one have to cancel the other out? Why are you so so bitter and angry at those that look to be close to Jesus with a true heart? I believe in a God of miracles and his mother of love for her children. People are on different paths of their faith journey and your negativity lacks holiness. You seem deeply unhappy. We are all different parts of one body.

Wow, this is extremely sad, are we not all children of God? Are we not all supposed to be brother's and sister's in Christ? Bickering and thinking we know it all. I've been to Medjugorje and experienced great healing there. Mass, confession, Adoration, peace, friendship, and so much love. I know so many young boys and girls, all addicts, travelled with them for 5 years and have seen miracles happen in their lives, a young boy that was wheel chair bound, now walking. I experienced the same peace and saw my nephew, who was a drug addict, go to confession there and adoration, and the peace in his face was amazing. He now is a deacon. I saw many more miracles there. We went to Medjugorje in 1991 my rosary changed to gold my husband bought 5 and mine only changes which i asked her to do so and she did in 1 hr many other miracles happened to our family we saw the sun spinning big orange cross in the sky also as we were coming down from the big hill my coat was drenched and when we got to the bottom my coat was completely dried .

The charisms are part of Sacred Tradition. Paul teaches on them specifically in Sacred Scripture. The Lord wants to fill his children with the Holy Spirit and empower them to build up the Church.

You are correct, Mr. Hall, the bit about the Holy Spirit guiding people instead of the Church is a lot of nonsense. I find dealing with these Charismatic types is like dealing with the many different Protestants I knew in Mississippi and other Southerners (and absolutely I have nothing against Southerners. I grew up as one.) Me, myself, and I and the Holy Spirit is a part of Protestantism and now the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. And in our United States, we are such a Extended Adolescent people. So much is about feelings. I am 76 and converted ti Catholicism in 1970. I have made a private study on much of this. Another thing, notice our music now during mass. If its lyrics have personal pronouns (I, me, my, we, us) it is usually more about "We, the people" than about God or our Blessed Mother.
The CCR does not teach people to ignore the teaching of the Church. They teach people to follow the CCC.
You might want to crack open a Bible and a CCC and learn about the commandment to not bear false witness.
I went to medjugorge in 1995. I've seen some good, but I have no authority to declare anything. I do, however, know many people who follow medjugorge, and all I can say is there is something lacking in their understanding of the faith. A lot of basic things. 😮

I was there in 1995 just around the war coming to a stop. Saw amazing things with others and in our group and so much love when Our Lady the beautiful Virgin Mary was appearing nothing compares. I believe she was showing her love to me because of all the suffering I was about to endure through life. She was telling me I am with you through it all to keep up your strength in God.

I just returned from Medjagorje the end of October 2024. I felt uncomfortable being there most of the time. During adoration of the blessed sacrament with thousands in attendance the musicians actually sang kumbaya🙄ugh.I went to a healing mass but unbeknownst to me it was the slaying of the holy spirit. Which I heard of before but never did any research on it. People were falling over. I couldn't wait to get out of there. My pilgrimage leader described visions she was having and while saying the rosary at viskas apartment, in which she adlibbed some of the rosary and prayed like a pentecostal I couldn't wait until it was over. It was cringe. I enjoyed climbing cross mountain and once during adoration another night it was reverent with thousands praying in silence. That was beautiful. However, I never will go again. I wish I had looked into Medjagorje more thoroughly but I trusted my sister who had been there six times. She is in favor of traditional latin mass but mostly ignores the weird stuff at Medjagorje. Anyways, my take. I encourage approved apparitions for anyone considering a pilgrimage just not Medjagorje.

I’m sad because of this. I am a young girl who was lost until I was given a small comment about a place where the Virgin Mary appears for about 40 years now….I started reading the first conversations with the Gospa(Mary) and started to cry. Graces starting pouring over me. My life has changed so much since for the better. I can do way more but I have a ton of baggage to let go of. It saddens me that most of the RUclipsr Catholics I listen to ignore or diminish Medjugorje just because it is not approved. How it saddens me.

@@eduardofortini4633 It is my dream to go there. I’ve heard there’s confessions in every language. 20 to 30 priests at the altar at a time sometimes. Miracles all the time. Once I wasn’t able to get up from my bed over my head was a ceiling window and I looked up earlier and couldnt keep my eyes open because the sun was too strong. Then I pleaded to Mary to help me start my day and then the sun turned purple, orange, blue red idk how many colors but it was changing beautifully and I was able to look directly at the sun. I didn’t realize until it turned back to normal and couldn’t look up anymore that it was the Gospa reminding me I am loved. And I got up that day. And I get crazy looks when I mention I am fond of medjugorje. I’ve came to stand firm. Thanks to Mary 🙏🙂
Amongst Croats (Croatia) "Međugorje" is a huge subject, to the point people declare one is not a Catholic if he/she says a word against Međugorje. Though Međugorje is in Bosnia and Hercegovina, one should know that Bosnia and Hercegovina is a country with 3 nations: Croats (catholics), Bošnjaci (muslims) and Serbs (orthodox). Međugorje is considered as a croatian/ catholic little town, that is the reason it is a huge religious subject in Croatia.
One thing mr. Kennedy you did not mention is the true fact, not so much known, that the true conflict from day one in Međugorje is a conflict amongst Franciscans, those who were excommunicated by the Pope and others who were not. The reason was not Međugorje, but it stayed connected. The Franciscan order was always very strong in Bosnia and Hercegovina. So, during the 90's when communist Yugoslawia fell apart (Thank you Lord) there was an oppinion and still is, that at least one of the Bishops involved in Međugorje was a spy for the Yugoslaw intelligence called "UDBA", and that he was infiltrated from communists/ freemasons, to tell "no" to Međugorje. However, as you pointed out correctly, not one of all the Bishops since then approved Međugorje. So the subject that an anti catholic intelligence service would deny Medugorje is just stupid. But I am telling you how people think to this day about that subject.
The general problem is that people think if one says Međugorje never happened - he must be anticatholic. Which is pure nonsense.
Međugorje had before 1981 a church and has today. The Eucharist and mass is correctly offered, also all sacraments. And as you pointed out correctly, if God allows miracles, they can happen also in Međugorje, or in everyone's heart, or backyard or wherever.
I visited Međugorje during the pandemic, during the time no travelers even were there, I was nearby and told myself "go and see". It was sad to see no candles no flowers, nothing. I spoke to local people about that. And some of them pointed to the church, saying like go to the church and attend mass, forget about these "things", they were not directly saying they do not believe in the apparitions, but it was clear they do not believe. Incredible, people who have souvenir shops a few meter down the apparition hill do not believe in these Međugorje apparitions. Also, I asked the question why the cross down the hill by the entry is painted in blue, it seems like the colour of Međugorje, and one old man told me they picked the blue because they had no other colour in the village (because Međugorje is in fact small) back at the time in 1981., but let people believe that Our Lady picked the colour.
Suma summarum: many people there think the apparitions were and still are a fraud.
I am a true traditional catholic. If Latin Mass was around the corner I would attend. So I attend mass led by franciscans near the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Ok.
There was one apparition in Međugorje at the beginning of the pandemic, when Our Lady, according to Mirjana (leading appariton seer today) said that there will be no apparitions during the pandemic. That was the first time I really laughed, but with sadness, because this is a mockery of Our Blessed Virgin Mary, The Mother of God.
As a Croat I can only say I am happy that Pope Francis did not say from the balcony on St. Peter that Međugorje is a fraud. Because it would put forever a black spot on Croats. Thank God he was moderat angry while giving a reporter a few years back answers during his airflight, while asked about Međugorje.

My mother had a copy of an original 1989 Medjugorje bulletin and I reviewed it about 11 years ago, and it contained a massive error in its theology - I hope I can find it again and distribute it
The error was related to false religions worshipping the same God.

Surely you cannot ignore the many fruits which came from Medjugorie. Just to name a few: Fr. Calloway, Fr. Leon, Fr. Mark Beard (Eternal Rest Grant Unto him O' Lord), Fr. Dan Reehil. Our dear Bishop Strickland traveled to Medjugorie and has stated, "the controversy for me is gone" "I just believe Mary has visited here".

@@marypiorodrigues8973 There have been saints who made mistakes. That was seen for example in the times of one of the antipopes when two saints stood on opposite sides. You mention a number of clerics who may be good and devout men. However, I am not going to idolize them, at least not yet, because in recent years, time and time again there have been clerics who were looked up to and even idolized, and who later were revealed to be bad men. What I do know is that certain clerics who played a significant role at Medjugorje right at the start have definitely revealed themselves to be bad men, such as Fr Jozo Zofko, Fr Tomislav Vlasic and Fr Ivica Vego. Of course that affects the way I - and many other Catholics - view Medjugorje.
You ask if I know the testimonies of the clerics you mention. I could equally ask if you know the testimonies of bishop Zanic and bishop Peric, men especially appointed by a mandate from Jesus Christ Himself to watch over the spiritual welfare of their flock. Is their testimony not worth anything? And what about numerous other good and devout clerics who have pointed out the problems with Medjugorje? Why should their testimony be ignored? And why should anyone take the testimonies of one set of clerics over the testimonies of another set?
If you out of your enthusiasm choose to ignore the testimony of legitimate bishops and reliable priests who have pointed out heresies associated with Medjugorje, sure that's your choice, but you shouldn't hold it against faithful Catholics who take legitimate bishops seriously, and who are deeply concerned that the body of the faithful is being poisoned by heresies under the pretext of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Were not the seers stealing apples when they supposedly had an encounter with Mary? The children of Fatima were praying the Rosary and looking after the sheep. If Our Blessed Mother appeared only once in Knock, Ireland and said no words yet conveyed a powerful message how could we accept that the same Blessed Mother is appearing for 42 years with a million messages just to say pray and convert?!! All these comments talk about the fruits which is great if they are true conversions but can anyone honestly explain the meaning of any of the messages besides pray fast convert? What has come to pass? Still secrets being given for 42years. Did it take Our Lady of Lourdes or Our Lady of Fatima 42 years. How can anyone believe this?

Did you know that there were apparitions in France of Our Lady Of Laus, 1664 to 1718? 54 years, fully approved by the church? That's more years than Medjugorjie. You cannot discount an apparition just because it didn't happen like it did in "Fatima" or Lourdes", or because it's happening for very long. I imagine at the time many would have scoffed as well about the apparitions happening for too long or the messages of conversion being repetitive. We clearly need that repetition, what with the way the world is becoming worse. We must be careful that we do not attack something good that God may be doing just because we can't see the full picture yet and prefer to things to go as they did before, meeting all our expectations of what an apparition should be like. If it's not for us it may very well be for the countless who go there needing conversion
@@tinashemadzingaidzo1589 you just mentioned one key fact “ fully approved “ , if you watched the video you would have heard the information about two local bishops whose responsibility it was to oversee the investigation and rule on the authenticity, they debunked these apparitions as not supernatural, unapproved, even Francis has not given approval. The whole thing operates in disobedience, many alleged things the visionaries claim the Blessed Mother to have said is out right heresy, this is not from Heaven but preternatural. Claims of conversion do not make these authentic apparitions , the messages are more then repetitive, they say nothing, Lourdes was about the confirming of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, Fatima was the warning of communism and the consecration of Russia, first five Saturdays etc. these messages serve no purpose, they are so generic and vague so no one can accuse them being against church teachings. The wealth of the visionaries is scandalous as all the scandals associated with Medjugorie, you must not have heard what Kennedy said.
