I was there this past May 2 for my birthday. Returning home for the 1st time in 18 years. Left in 85 to join the Army. Retired in 2014. Now, I'm living my best life. Owe it all to Jesus, and my roots. Thank You Brooklyn Bed Sty for bringing me up, pushing me out of your nest to fly high!!!!
One thing I sometimes miss about northeastern cities is you can walk anywhere. Notice all the people seem to be light on their feet and look fit compared to cities in the south.
I grew up in Bed - Stuy lived on Vernon Avenue, thank you for posting this video, I'm already feeling homesick. I could walk to everywhere I need without driving, I walked everywhere and was / is in perfect Health, Now I live in the South and I regret it, but plan to move. Some not everyone in the South is over weight and in poor health. I may get bad hate for it, but it's true, Sorry. If New York City wasn't so expensive I move back, but...as things change, life goes on. Again, thanks for posting this video. ❤
I like the south, I think there’s a lot of good here, but it’s true our cities don’t like to spend money on healthcare or walkable spaces. Or anything that promotes the well-being of the people living here for that matter. The only city I know of down here that you can get to where you need to go without driving is Atlanta. If you go a bit west, you can do Austin. Both great cities but even still the infrastructure is lacking and affordability becomes another issue there too. Then you run into problems regarding public transit, as well as the healthcare and human rights issues the local and state governments don’t want to address.
As I said, I dont mean to bash the South, in fact I do like living in the South, just that you have to drive to where ever you need to go instead of using public transit, I do love Charlotte, and Austin,TX, but its not NYC. . But now even in the south its starting to get expensive.
I don’t know if you ever realized, but every time you crossed Broadway Avenue you went back to Bushwick. So basically you were going back-and-forth Bushwick and bed-stuy
Not a problem. I was a cop in Bed Stuy, Crown Heights, and East N.Y. in the 70's and 80's it was very different. You video is very good.@@NYCVideoTours
I'm honestly obsessed with your intros!!!😍😍 I was kinda hoping you'd walk all the way to Chauncey street and Marion Hopkinson Playground area, i hope one day you'll post a video from there as well! 😊
Haha that’s me at the 1:00 and again at 20:00:00 singing. With DJ Santiago. 21:44 Dance moves are mine. Tag and follow! This is a great video, Brooklyn looks so beautiful.
I can't help it. How interesting all those things in detail may be, I just think that the shabby appearance of the decrepit sleazy infrastructure and those omnipresent graffiti just make the place ugly. Just take those stickers off, derust and paint the pylons, wipe out those disgusting giant letter graffiti and clean the floor. Paint unused grey walls white, and it will already look way better. Paving the sidewalks and putting some green on the ground (since the elevated railway isn't massive, but a grid) will make this a welcoming place where ppl want to live. Maybe. Bc the architecture is just sh¡tty there.

@@redcat900 oh yeah I agree, I totally get that.
Totally different from the 60s and 70s. Great memories.

I didn't realize, thank you for telling...
I knew I'm somewhere around the border of Bushwick and Bed-Stuy
You're in between Bed Sty and Bushwick headed to Brownsville. lol Still
appreciate the views. Thanx.
That’s not Bed-Stuy. It’s the border of Bushwick and Stuyvesant Heights. Bed-Stuy is a bit west of there.
Broadway Ave. is like the borderline of Bedstuy and bushwick
Thats my hood Bedstuy, Bushwick and Ridgewood. 35+ years
Not the Bed Stuy I know. Walk up Nostrand Ave or Utica Ave from Thompkins Ave to Eastern Pkwy. That's the real Bed Stuy
Yeah, it's the border of Bushwick and Bed Stuy.
Thanks for the suggestion, I may do a video around there.

That's not bed-stuy that's Bushwick
Remember back in the days around there they filmed the movie Ghost: actor Patrick swayze
Good old bed sty the saying was back in 80”s Do or Die in Bed Sty😎
That's not really Bedford Stuyvesant you more on the outskirts of Bushwick you were actually walking the wrong way.
nice!
Make one at night
I didnt see Spiderman. Disappointed

Most of Brooklyn is ugly. Uglyville.
