I really hope you got as much out of this chatty vlog as I did Brogan. Sometimes it’s better to say things out loud and let the universe help to clear it. I’m a true believer in mindfulness and karma etc. Love LOVE your tattoo ❤️and it’s even more beautiful as it’s so personal to you. Never feel pressured to supply content, I’ve followed you for many years and you’ve always put so much pressure on yourself to make your channel interesting for all shapes and sizes. We will totally understand if you need to take you time. Just breathe and believe in yourself and how Important it is to us that you are fine, so no pressure gorgeous girl xx

It's good that you can talk it out rather than keep second guessing everything. It's hard sometimes to admit that we're not always as strong as we appear.
I'm one of those who watch everything 😊 One of my favourites (and I have many) has to go to Benji on your road trip where you were both doing animal impressions (cows, sheep, chickens) and it was the way Benji laughed when you did the chicken sound 🤣 He was just adorable!

I’m a school counsellor at a secondary school. And how you spoke about the vase and the cracks and how it represented you was beautiful. Something I will be 100% taking into my sessions with my students. Such a sad but simple way of understanding emotions. Thank you for that, thank you for your honesty and how you present yourself. Watch you from the very start and I remember key things you’ve done, but that saying alone will be one of the top things❤

I just wanted to say how much your openess and honesty about the struggles is hitting home with so many of us. It is so important to talk about all the highs and the lows, and I can only imagine that being a content creator brings so many amazing incredible opportunities, but equally also brings so much stress and pressure. Thank you for being you and remember your feelings are valid. Sending you lots of love, remember to be kind to yourself in navigating grief, grief is love with nowhere to go, and beautiful Bonnie was loved so much ❤

  • @maryanndove

You are not alone! You are doing so so well and are so brave for sharing this process with us all. It makes total sense that your brain would be in a space of overwhelm. Grief takes a long time to process, let alone that overstimulation of the biggest and best few months of your life and the jarring jolt of all those happy emotions and all the sadness all at the same time. I know that my brain fog is at its worst when there has been a lot of change in my life and you’ve had SO much change. It’s good to hear you’re giving yourself the space and grace to process it all. In periods of burnout in my life, the song from frozen 2 “Just do the next right thing” really really helped. Each day; just do the next right thing. We’re all here for you xx

    Hi Brogan,
Your vlogs are so genuine and honest, I just wanted to say thank you for that. I have experienced similar losses as you, and sometimes I feel like it’s so hard to describe, but you said it perfectly when you spoke about the cookie jar. I hope that each day going forward you have more smiles than tears, more laughter with family and friends, and more sunshine in every day. Take care!💕😊☀️

Thanks for being so honest! I watch most of your vlogs! You're so natural and kind. Such a great sense of humor you and Benji have and such lovely people. I adored your dog and now i want one even though i have a cat that wouldn't like it at all so i can't...yet! My daughter has autism and i care for her and cannot work. I also cannot travel or visit many places currently so i visit places through watching you guys and it helps take my mind off things however much i love every minute with my daughter. Thanks for all your honest and fun videos. I look forward to many more xx❤

The unconditional love of our dogs is a true blessing that stays with us forever. Your tattoo is a lovely tribute to Bonnie. And I too experienced that “cookie jar” moment. Many years ago during a stressful time I knocked over a ceramic candlestick that I cherished and completely collapsed to the floor crying hysterically. I realized it wasn’t the object that broke but rather how I was feeling broken at the time. I realized that material things can be replaced and I needed to concentrate on my healing. Wanted you to know that I love your vlogs -Disney, cruises, home/hauls. And as a New Yorker, I cannot wait for your UK road trip! I can live vicariously through you. Thank you. Keep smiling 😊

Brogan, I've been a long time subscriber but rarely comment. I just wanted to pop on & say thank you for talking so openly about burnout & how you are feeling. I've been struggling to explain to my family how I'm feeling mentally after giving birth to my daughter & loosing my nan to dementia within the space of two weeks. How you described that Jar was exactly how I feel & I think it's the perfect way to get across exactly what I want to tell family, so thank you ❤

29 years on I still grieve for my Bonnie, have never not had a dog in my life since I was 2 years old, I am now 68 years old. All pets leave that paw print on your heart they are so loving and feel our emotions. We all need an unwind and to distance ourselves at times to refresh our senses, closing our eyes in the morning and filling our senses while stood outside listening to every sound we take for granted and taking in the aromas, dew on the grass birds singing etc lol. Love the tattoo it’s beautiful x

Either theyre fun and I have a great time discussing Disney with my family as we catch up on your Disney trips.. or plan our next cruise from your vlogs.. or theyre honest and real and remind me that im not alone in what i feel, that its normal.. or theyve got me debating whether i want to branch out from my love of thrillers to try the romance genre of books! First thing that I would like to say is you grieve forever and they will live forever in your heart, our fur babies all lived for over 20 years. I am currently living in a fog state due to all the following happening to me in the one year, my parents passing, our final fur baby passing and I have been diagnosed with a horrible disease. My husband has booked us on our first cruise in October after I talked about you and your cruises seem to cheer me. Sorry for rattling on, if you need time please take it while you can. You looked great so something is working. Please put Australia on your bucket list, your friends from down Under ❤

My sweet girl passed on May 6th. It was so weird because watching your social media and vlogs, I had this sense it was coming. I was watching you grieve and anticipated my own. Nothing really prepares you for how intense the sadness is. I cry every single day. I look at pictures and I have the most vivid memories, and get this feeling of “oh wait, I never get to see her again”
And the wound rips open all over again.

I remember one of my teachers - a performing musician - sharing with me once how annoyed she was with herself that she had allowed herself to get over-committed with concert engagements - and she couldn't get out of any of them. It was going to be a struggle-through-it situation. I was a student in my 20s and she was in her early 60s. It taught me that this is something that can happen to anyone, at any point, no matter how much experience they have. I hope you continue taking time to fill yourself up, rest, slow the pace, and keep AT that until you feel your natural zest for life creep back in. Especially with grief, it's so unpredictable, so up and down - I'm sending you lots of grace and hope you will continue to give it to yourself!! Big hugs!

Happy to see you are doing and feeling a bit better. This was me 2.5 yrs ago I had been care giving for my husband 8 yrs and I was working full time and I was crying every single day. I was beyond exhausted and I had to say I cannot cotinine this. I was declared burn out but I had to still work as someone had to pay the bills. Sadly I had to walk away from a 20 yr relationship a life I had built so hard and had to put my hands up in the air. I got therapy for anxiety and depression and it was hard. I am doing much better now but I had to set boundaries to protect myself. Its okay to slow down, its okay to cry, its okay to say NO. Love watching you from Canada :) and Love disney tooo !!!

I totally understand what you're going through Brogan. We had to deal with grief the same year we got married, and the extreme ups and downs are a LOT. You're dealing with it so well (better than I did...haha!), and I think the best advice I got was to be kind to yourself meaning if you want to lie on the sofa crying all day, just do it! Just take it easy and don't feel too pressured to do too much too soon. Love the tattoo! ❤ x

On another note, we went to the Highlands in April where we got engaged! It was at Glencoe Lochan and it is honestly so beautiful if you get a chance to go. I also had one of the best meals of my life up there. It's a place called The Old Inn in Appin. I don't know if you'll be in the area but it is well worth the visit. Also, you have to stop by The Green Welly Stop on the way down to Glasgow. It's iconic 😂
Oh and we went to Disney World in January 2023. Honestly one of the best times to go in my opinion. Perfect weather and the crowds were still quite low

As a tattooist who's followed you for many years, I'm delighted to see you getting your first one, especially in remembrance of Bonnie. Truly truly special and so glad the experience was such a positive one! You will be very tempted for more and that's down to the dopamine release related to getting them and people realising they're never as bad, pain-wise as they usually think! Really glad to see you're taking some time away to recover from burnout - something I'm really trying to do right now. Sending love

100% get the burn out thing and experienced it pretty badly myself a couple of years ago. Won’t share too much but was a complete shell of myself for quite some time so you are not alone! I still get moments of it here and there but am much better now. It will pass, best to prioritise yourself and focus on what brings you joy ❤

McD's cheeky lunch and a Brogan catch-up.. BEST LUNCH BREAK EVER 😁 I know how you feel with the brain fog & burnout. The way you described it wiping off your glasses, that's exactly it. Spot on! Hope Benji's holding up with the 'strawberry crying' incidents 😂😂 that made me giggle. Gutted after the drum roll, I was praying for California (pain in the bum aren't we, can never please us all haha) Thanks for a great half hour xx xx

Thank you for another lovely chatting blog. Since I found your page on RUclips at the end of last year I have enjoyed so many of the videos and other content that you have posted on here and Instagram. What you said here about the vase really got to me, as to be honest it accurately describes how I feel at the moment. I didn’t realise that was how I felt until you said it. I am hoping this will improve, although probably only with big changes in my life. Fingers crossed when I get there. Thank you again for being so lovely and looking forward to seeing your adventures this summer. Xx

I'm one of your watch everything followers :) I eagerly look forward to every video you put out. I just wanted to let you know that what you shared about the hard days, the fog, overwhelm with decisions, and not having the capacity for a lot of things are all normal parts of the grief process that we don't talk about enough. We hear about things like anger and denial, but not the smaller stuff. Our family went through a major life shift almost two years ago, and it's taken me about 18 months to start feeling like myself again. I struggled with decisions, felt overwhelmed, didn't have a high capacity for social things because it just felt exhausting, and the grief would hit out of nowhere and I'd burst out crying. Be gracious with yourself, know that what you're experiencing is a process, and it does get better :)

Thank you for opening up, i feel we all have struggles in our own way. You didnt get to say goodbye to your Bonnie girl and coming from a massive high from your Wedding and Birthday it is going to take some while to process. Grief has no time line, i still grieve my mum (18years) and my dad (13 years). We are all here and continue to support you both. Keep shining bright xx

I think you almost needed to crack that jar so you could really understand what you were going through and how important it was for you to give yourself grace and take time to heal. I hope you’re feeling better, and remember, it’s not always a linear process recovering from grief or burnout. Sending you lots of love. Can’t wait for the UK road trip series when you’re ready to share it. 💜

That's normal to feel that; the set backs. She was a heavily a part of your life. I know many people don't say their pets are like actual 'human' members but to me they are. I'm sorry you are going through this... it hurts a LOT before it gets better (especially the things you associate to the one you lost) whether it takes a few months or years. I think your openness and personality is what draws me to your vlogs. Yes, I get to experience the many places you go too but even your home vlogs or chats are lovely!
    Take the time you need

I’ve had that burnout! It was when I was working, taking care of kids and husband, making and selling jewelry in the side, etc etc. It does get better! Always take care of yourself!
Hubby and I just got our first tattoos in 2022 after walking 550 miles across Spain! Camino de Santiago. We were 64 and 74 years old 😅.
I always have trips planned. It makes me so happy. I’m booking a lot with points lately. Anyway, going on a few road trips soon and then a cruise. I then booked flights to Italy and Austria for next year and another cruise. Also we go to Maui every year. Can’t wait!

Cutting them all off has made me feel a million times better. I know that isn’t going to help you but everyone needs to just take a step back sometimes. You are a fabulous human you and benji both please take care of yourself.

Bless you Brogan, I can totally empathise with your burnout. I had to leave my job in the New Year due to experiencing very similar feelings. I was working in a digital marketing role, constantly creating content, colleagues not realising how long it takes to shoot/edit the lovely reel I produced for social media, editing photos or writing a script for a new promotional video. Managing the company’s social media channels also meant I never felt I could switch off. Well done for recognising the signs and taking steps to give yourself some space. It’s understandable with everything you’ve had on this year but I do think it’s something that is more common in the creative industries.

The cookie jar is a perfect example! I've often felt, especially during my illness this year, that I looked fine, but was completely covered in cracks. We all go through that, but it's how we recover that's important. It's very brave of you to share your journey. My middle daughter is obsessed with Taylor (and I like her pretty well myself). seeing her in concert would be amazing!!! The tattoo is so sweet!!! It's a lovely tribute to Bonnie!!! 😍😍😍 I've been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo myself, but I'm not sure yet. I have a pretty big scar from my surgery this winter, so I'd like something to make it pretty. Has Benji thought about getting a tattoo to cover his surgical scar? I really need to get over to Instagram more often! I just kind of forget about it. Your road trip sounds wonderful!!! Wow, Disney World in January!!! What fun!!! Continued love and health from across the pond!!! 💜💜💜
