0:55 The voices of the beautiful people singing the chorus are very harmonious, there is no overflow, it is literally like tying the bridge firmly to the stones! I know I'm too late to write this review, but I still wanted to let you know my thoughts on the song. My thanks to the choir, Mando and you. Lots of love from Turkey

No, this does not describe Valhalla/Valhal, but the end of it... How the series of events, which leads to the end, start...
"Mourn a fallen friend..." refers to Balder, the Aseir/Asguardian of light, killed by his blind brother, tricked into it by Loki.
"...Put his murderer in irons three" tells about the imprisonment of Loki, for his crime.
"Darkness falls" refers to the Fimbul winter, an eternal winter, that casts the world in eternal darkness, which is caused by Loki after he escapes his prison.
"Here begins an age of war and struggle" refers to the "Völuspá" which is a poem and prophecy about the end of Asgard.
"Winter follows winter" again the fimbul winter.
"Hear the howling of the wolves" refers to Fenrir, son of Loki and one of the three Chaos-beasts (the remaining two being Jormungandr and Muspel, possibly another name for Surtr), heralding his return to Asgard and his feast.
"friends turning their backs" i am actually not sure what is referred to with this line.
"The ground heaves..." this most likely refer to the mountain giants, also called "bergrisar" and is one of the three kinds of jotunn.
"Behold as ice and fire draws near" refers to the to other kinds of jotunn, frost and fire giants, the most notable is Surtr, who will burn Yggdrasil to the ground after his battle against Frey (not Freya) which ends in a draw.
"Death stands at the gate of the Gods..." refers to Hel, or Helya, the god of death, daughter of Loki, once again standing on Asgard as she once did, but after denying Odin his son Balders return from Helheim, she was banished from Asgard.

Suicidally depressed guy here, hang in there, man. You're not alone.
Dunno if you're religious or not but the bible says that if you suffer and hate this world, then you shall find peace, as the world is essentially owned by evil and those who lose their lives to an evil world shall find comfort in the embrace of the Father.
Believing in that helps me get by...Just hoping that it can help you too.

V, who wrote the original lyrics? It's a great poem I enjoyed to interpret. Thank you so much for your music!
    *German Lyrics:*
Trauere um einen gefallenen Freund und lege seinen Mörder in Fesseln.
Bereite dich auf den Kampf vor
    Lass dein Horn erklingen!
Dunkelheit kommt. Es beginnt ein Zeitalter des Krieges und des Streites mit
    Schwert und Blut
    Lass dein Horn erklingen!
Die Erde erhebt sich, sie bebt voll Schmerz, zittert überall
    So lass dein Horn erklingen!
Die Himmel öffnen sich kinderweinenden Klanges, siehe, Eis und Feuer
    kommen näher
    Lass dein Horn erklingen!
Der Tod steht an der Götter Pforten. Du, der du alles gesehen hast, weißt,
    es ist zu spät
    Doch lass dein Horn erklingen!
