- The Lakers will heavily explore the trade market this offseason, could they bring back Brandon Ingram? A recent rumor links LA to their former 2nd overall pick; Trevor Lane breaks down what a deal would look like. Plus, is Jonas Valanciunas the guy to target in free agency to play with Anthony Davis? And the mailbag brings plenty of questions about D'Angelo Russell..

The fact that Max Christie is entering his 3rd year and not a big part of the rotation is just criminal. He has the potential to be a 3&D player that we need
Darvin Ham caused that
Great let's trade him too
When have you seen him successful in big time minutes ? Yes part of that is the coach but ive seen him timid and defer often outside garbage time.
@@notatrollllbra he gets put in for garbage time mins or for like 2 mins & took right back out
I think we searching things that we have and can develop like Christie. Soon Lakers will losing for nothing…
Ingram is more injured prone than AD, no shot! No Trae either pls. Markkanen with AD, Bron and Vando would be lethal already, just get depth from that
Your right! Ingram is hurt as much as AD! Trae is midget at PG who is volume shooting scoring guard! You keep Hayes to develop him! The Lakers should have kept a C playing alongside of AD after winning the title in 2020! Nope! They had the formula! They didn't learn anything!
Let the Knicks trade for BI. Another injury-risk wing is just what they need!
Lauri?? Really bro this ain’t 2k . The reason Ingram is being brought up is because he would be a cheap Star. You mentioning Lauri is not even a chance that would happen 😂
Very close. Based on their careers: AD: 61 G/season, Ingram: 59 G/season.
I just learned about Vando injury history and I am starting to think he will always be injured for long stretches'. When you see how his twist and turn on his defense with just a big body, it is quite easy to see why.
Markkanen is the best fit for Bron and AD at the Frontcourt
Keep dreaming
lmao why not just get ant edwards, or giannis? Lakers cant just have whoever tf they want from teams with their dog shit assets, and other teams also just sit back and not trade wayyyyyy better, actually realistic packages, for the players the lakers fans think they can just have. You absolute idiots
He's not available
Seems too good to be true. I can see the Lakers getting Trae Young before markkanen
Bro how is 3 huge guys a good fit?
Markannen couldnt defend the 3 well when he was like 20 pounds lighter!!
D Mitchell is the only 3rd star I would want. Other than that I would just want to get depth
Finally, someone else, who gets it
There is no way people can claim Lebron is the architect of this roster build. Smh.
That’s haters bruh,Lebron didn’t even want Westbrook
@@user-id1gc6sl4nHe actually did tho there are reliable sources that already said Bron and AD wanted him. We can stop acting like players don’t recruit other players all the time. But that doesn’t mean it’s their fault to blame cause its the front office job to say yes or no when the players voice their opinions so most of the blame falls on the front office
@@SupaDopex3 😂
I have zero interest in Brandon Ingram. Zero. The Lakers need 3&D two-way players with size and toughness on the wing and in the front court. Lakers need a defensive-minded rebounding center. Pelinka needs to focus on that.
💯💯💯
You're in a dream world, those types of players are in every team's wish list but I agree Brandon is a sorry ass player
True true, last years team was a strong big back up centeraway from WCF. There are probably near ready quality bigs in this draft. I'd ride with 6 ( 4-5)athletic bigs on roster, at least 3 centers, and a developer
@@christianmendoza8535you most def a casual we don’t want or need him
Plenty of those in the draft, but the Lakers refuse to build through the draft.
I really like that Lari Marrkien trade. I think he'll be a a natural fit next to AD. He doesn't need the ball in his hands good shooter and young.
OFC you would like it lmao its a fucking joke. THe lakers have NO CHANCE at getting Lauri. THey have nothing to get him and nothing even close to beating other teams offers to get him. You think if Utah would take that dumbfuck worthless offer here that OKC wouldnt absolutely destroy it? Or ten other teams? You all are so damn stupid
Lakers' front office and ownership is a joke ! Trying to get players we already had all the time
💯 Pelinka is the weak link, Rob let Javele go, followed by trading away Caruso, KCP, Monk, Drummond. Pelinka has single handedly destroyed the roster every year since the bubble finals win.
It don't matter you wouldn't be able to keep all of them anyway at the time even if they didnt get AD. Yall need to stop thinking you can keep that team pre AD with the way those players are currently getting paid
@@rockyraccoon6861so you forgot about the AD and LB secret meeting with Russ that the organization didnt know about. When they was clearly going after Derozan and Buddy Hield and o one even was talking about Russ. All to please LB and AD
90% of lakers fans wanted these trades. How many wanted the likes of Kuzma and Kcp gone. So many wanted Reaves gone for Murray, and a lot thought it was good to privilege THT rather than keeping Caruso.
@@richards3695but it's still up to the GM to say no, then explain why it doesn't fit...after lossing to Houston in 86 ,Buss & Magic had a deal in place to trade worthy for agguire & tarpley Jerry West refused said he would quit..the rest is History..
knowing def rebounds is one of the big issues for Lakers, playing AD at 5 and Bron at 4 will continue to possess a major problem down the road as Bron is NOT able to help with def rebounds anymore. Hence, I think the #1 priority is a big center who can help with def rebounds and guard Jokic and Towns. Otherwise, we will never have an oppty to get out of West to Final. Agree?
Agree. All these fantastical trade talks--for players they had or "all stars" that in my view won't help--is annoying.
If all of this talk is just heresay and hypotheticals, why not throw someone really worthwhile in the mix, like Jalen Duren, a physical big who actually plays big in the paint?
Or, hell, bring back Dwight Howard or someone who could actually anchor the D.
I'm sick of seeing this team centered around a fragile AD and an aging Lebron's future, and Pelinka crippling the cap with third tier options, just to fill out the roster and put them in another play-in.
Seriously, I would have rather kept what we had. No Lebron or AD.
@@ngarner8308😂😂😂
Agree 1000
Been screaming it for 2 full seasons now
AD can't play the 4, his shot is broke
Problem is bron is getting older and cannot guard wings anymore. Not only that but ADs poor jumpshooting means we would need a floor spacing center
Going to be tough to see what the Lakers can do until we see what’s going to happen with D’Angelo Russell
Obviously his agent is watching all RUclips chats and knows we watching his move 😅
Try to bring back players we lost do James and AD they were all young players in their early twenties.
There’s no remedy for Deangelo
We are fucked
We actually better off if he opts in so we can trade him
Cuz if he leaves like we want
We can’t use his salary to get a better player
We are fucked
The pels ain’t interested in those crap players 💩
C’mon man
the lakers will probably have the same roster next season.
Lakers had a strong team that won the championship, only to get rid of caruso, kcp, dwight howard.
Never should have let Dwight go in 2020. He was a bargain.
They all chase the Bag all players usually do after a championships
He wanted to stay. It’s well documented that Pelinka let him go.
@@user-vs8xl6hl8gDwight did leave for more money though
Caruso left for more money too. But just like Dwight, he *also* wanted to stay and play for less money. I think Pelinka fumbled both of those decisions.
All I want for Christmas is another good big that plays defense and can score and someone that can guard Murry in the 4quarter because they don’t need to in the 1st 2nd and 3rd quarter 😂
Next week they'll be talking about bringing Julius Randle and Lonzo back too.
Honestly nothing wrong with that! That young team they throw away for AD would be top 1,2,3 in the west! Think about it. DLO, BALL, HART, BI, RANDLE, LEBRON, KUZMA, AND THEIR BENCH WILL GO CRAZY. SMH understand basketball

DLO is only getting better, he hasn’t even hit his stride yet and I don’t see a better PG options out there.
Man 2 season you deprive AD a helper centre..wth is laker management doing . Wtf !! Literally the guy begged to not be played at 5 yet he was made to play there. The laker jaggernaut was lethal with AD as 4 and centres covering the rim in 2020 .

@dil6413 did you see in the play-off, he did shoot well from mid range
@@dil6413Giannis is a 4 too.
@@binayathapa4046 he shot maybe 50% on low volume. he played well in the series because he dominated in the paint like he did all year. Hard to do if you have another center in the game.
Let's not forget about Alex Caruso! I still do anything I can to acquire him. The West has so many great guards you could throw Caruso on any of them. Also I'm 50/50 on Jonas. Rather go after Andre Drummond who is alot cheaper and a beast on the boards. Another piece I look at is bruce brown. A combination of these players intrigue me more than a third star
I’d love to have Caruso back but I don’t see anyway that happening 😢.
We had Drummond... It didn't workout
LOL even in his contract year, CHI still try to ask you pay for 2 first round picks to get Caruso, do you believe it? That is too expensive.
@@xXFUEGIxXhe was good for the Lakers. It didn't work out because the front office makes everything not workout lol
Drummon is sloppy, no offensive game, butter fingers. No thanks. Unless it’s minimum and he’s off bench like 3rd string
Why not draft a big at 17
I might say, take this team who was working the nuggets most of the series, add Vanderbilt and a rebounding big and we are in the 2nd round…?
it takes Denver many years to build core players, why can not the Lakers be patient, I think our starters are good. Just need a real big and healthy to be champion contender !!!
Can you imagine that lineup Donovan Mitchell, Lauri Markkanen and AD
Why would we want either of them? Val can’t even stay on the court for 25 minutes he gets played off and BI stays injured
How about a video talking about what the Lakers could/should do if Bron goes back to Cleveland.
There’s no way the Pelicans will do anything to help the Lakers and LeBron. I don’t know of any team that’s going to trade with LA unless LA blows them away with an offer.
Getting BI would not help anyway, dude is more injury prone than AD, hard pass!
some of these laker podcast types don't understand no franchise is going to go out of their way to help the lakers get better.

The Lakers traded 10+ years of dominance for 1 ring in the bubble and perpetual playoff losers with “Crybaby” LeChina.
Sounds to me like Valanciunas is the way to go out of these two options. Space the floor and make Joker a little tired with AD at the four to come over and help and also so AD's lite in the butt behind can dominate the fours
JV does not space the floor. Shoots well below league average and shoots just over 1 3 a game.
Yes for Valanciunas. He will help with rebounding and allow AD to scout the other teams 3's and 4's. Also he can guard Jokic allowing AD to shutdown Porter Jr. or Aaron Gordon.
And CJ
gee, it is almost like the Lakers should be patient and actually develop players rather than trade or let them go for the shiniest rock. Ingram, Caruso, KCP, Randle is a pretty good team all by themselves and that is not counting the ones they gave away that became bench players. Keep looking for that magical "third"
Needed to get AD but Caruso and KCP are on Pelinka for sure. Especially since a POA defender in KCP and Caruso are doing tremendous rn.

I just dig it. I say he needs a change of scenario to get better as a player. That’s what usually happens.
What about Lakers going for Zach Edy to pair for AD. I think would be a very interesting duo. Can match up a bit with Jokic.
Reaves should be used as a sixth man, Lakers need someone scoring from bench players
I loved Ingram since he was a rookie. Bring! Him! Back!
Don’t want Brandon Ingram don’t need another injury, prone player
I really, REALLY hope that none of these trade rumours so far come to fruition. Always got love for Trae but I'd argue he is the direct opposite of what we need, and now we're potentially looking at a very injury prone wing who has never turned up in the POs?? Not to mention the money/cap issues involved. It sucks to say this again, but fringe moves for real depth is the only thing the FO should be concerned with. Address the issues of a physical big and decent two way players.
so much to say about this. every year we start with the saying "the Lakers can get outbid" and it never happens. I heard that with AD. Yet, the Celtics, who had all of these assets, never pushed their chips in. Yes, other teams have assets but they never use them and outbid the Lakers. When was the last time that has happened? Lastly, it will cost more assets but I'd rather go after Donovan Mitchell. I'm tired of injury prone players on the Lakers.
Trading for
Ingram would show us truly how bad of a gm Pelinka is
More Azz Pull Trades that's not possible especially by Bum Pelinka who last season pass over Myles Turner and especially Kyrie Irving for 2 First to instead get a Carbon Copy Bootleg Fake Choke Kyrie in DLow, Extremely Overrated Vanderbilt plus to pick in the draft a bust in Jalen Hood-Schifino.
Kyrie or Myles was the Lakers last chances to bring in Perfect Fits for pairing beside LeBron & A.D, but Pelinka Bin mess it up.
So why would the Pelicans trade Ingram to the Lakers when they want to pull a Spurs next season with the Lakers by having LeBron leave for the Sixers, Lakers end up being trash and they get their pick next season? Plus the Lakers have no salary to trade.
The nets over didn’t want to trade Kyrie to the lakers

Why do you Clowns keep pushing that totally Illogical Fake Sport News of the Nets wouldn't trade Kyrie to the Lakers B.S?
The Nets isn't going to turn down 2 first from the Lakers for 1 first plus 2 Seconds from the Mavs. So stop it.
Can the MLE trade exception be used to except addition salary or does it have to be a whole contract, ex can we use Reaves and the exception for Murray and let the 13 mil make up the salary difference
Why would the Lakers have to give away so much for an injury prone player like Ingram? No way they should agree to 2-3 FRP's and a bunch of players for him. Pass.
Career stats:
PG 19.4, FT 78.6, 3P % 36.2, RB 5.2, ASS 4.3, GS 59
just a solid big please who can dominate the boards, offense not a problem securing the ball is =(
Need a guard to handle Murray and Irving also. Shudr?
This would be a DISASTER. WE NEED: all 2 Way Players, defense, rebounding, health, a PG and backup Big. BI is the WORST option I’ve heard yet…he’s literally the complete opposite of everything we need.
KEEP THE DEPTH!! Anybody who can hit a wide open jumper, im good with
The lakers organization is in shambles right now we’re really talking about hiring jj reddick as coach n bringing back Ingram 😂😂😂
I really find it hard to believe it’d be that price for the lakers… there is literally ALWAYS the lakers tax plus the LeBron clutch sports AND rob pelinka tax. ESPECIALLY with the pelicans. I think we need able bodies who can really move laterally and 6’6 and up
Well the Lakers have the Mickey Mouse League tax on other teams too
LMAO, this Ingram possible trade to the Lakers is ridiculous and Impossible especially for Bust Free Agent in Gabe Vincent and Overpaid Vanderbilt. No one wants them.
Also this all goes back to Bum Pelinka/Kobe Agent getting totally robbed by the Pelicans bidding against himself for the 4th Overall Pick, Ingram & Lonzo and control of 6 of the Lakers First round picks for 1 year of AD when Magic Johnson end negotiations with the Pelicans wanted more than 3 First, Ingram and Lonzo for a year plus a half. Meaning if the Lakers didn't fire Magic the Pelicans would got no more than the same deal with Magic replacing 1 of the first with the 4th Overall Pick.
So the Worst GM Ever came to the table after Magic like a Complete Sucker giving them everything they wanted and the Laker is still paying for it.
If we, the fans, agree that the pieces and picks that we have are not good enough paired with LBJ/AD to contend for a title I imagine it’s a hard sell for another team to want to give us anything good back for a combination of D’lo, Christie, Vanderbilt and two picks not in the lottery.
Ingram and Trae may not be the players we want or even need, but the necessary ‘red paper clip’ trade to upgrade the roster.

@@BloomsArchitect people be high AF lol, that lineup means no bench and another 1st round exit in the playoffs.
Yea that's not possible
AR, Max, BI, Lebron, AD
Sounds like a great starting line up to me. Comes with risk but yeah.
Murray should be at the top of the list of stars, or borderline stars, to get. I'm not a fan of any of the other possible trade candidates simply because everyone else is injury-prone. Murray has shown he is not afraid of big moments and that he has the ability to play good to above-average defense. On top of that, he has a fair to undervalued contract, which is why a player like Reaves is so sought after.
Murray for 2x 1st Rd Picks + Max Christie (Sign and Trade) Rui + JHS. Likely a three-team trade.
Reaves for 17th pick for Caruso and Torrey Craig.
I’m a big fan of both Reaves and Christie, but if the Lakers are trying to maximize LeBron's possible last year of playing at an elite level, they need to go all-in on creating a starting five that can play well with one another and has very few holes. This is under the premise that the Lakers do not re-sign DLo, allowing them to aggregate contracts, and it opens up the MLE of about $13 million, which will allow them to bring in another good role player. Hopefully, Isaiah Hartenstein (wishful thinking) or Valanciunas to fill that backup center position, which the Lakers have been desperate to fill since Dwight and McGee left. This would be my ideal outcome.
Starting 5:
-AD
-Bron
-Vando
-“The Bald Mamba”
-Murray
Bench:
-Hartenstein
-Wood
-Torrey Craig
-Vet Minimum Player or Bronny - Not likely to play much in the playoffs.
-Vincent (which I’m expecting a bounce back year)
Jonas can play the Dwight role and No to Ingram, he’s a ball stopper and we have Lebron already
Really Trev that’s what we doing now picking up the players the pelicans don’t want
Have we learned nothing? Rui bring size and length which is of utmost value right now. I know you need his salary to make big trades but I don’t think it’s smart to ditch him unless you get a very strong 3&D guy.
They need a True number 1 scoring option, 3D Guard , and a True center
Lakers don't need another "last one in the gym first one out" because it's sunny outside Ingram.
DLO will not opt in and help the lakers in no trade unless he getting a 4 year or 5 year deal for DLO on a sign and trade !
tell me who's stupid enough to give DLo 4 or 5 years
Exactly.
Unless DLo is getting 30 Million a year for 3 to 5 years from the Lakers making him almost untradable, then he's going to the Magic or Spurs for 25 to 30 Million a year for 3 to 4 years without them giving up anything to get him.
DLo bet on himself against the Worst GM Ever in Bum Pelinka/Kobe Agent and easily won like expected.
I bet Pelinka Bin wish he got Kyrie Irving or Myles Turner for those 2 first instead now.

Why not give Dwight Howard or Javell McGee another shot. Two of the best defensive players that the Lakers have had in a long time.
I'm not sure if Brandon is worth it with all his risks, but the truth is I would still give more for him than I would young
DO IT!!!
While woods isn’t the best rebounder hes averaged 10 boards a few seasons already. He’s also still a bigger body and can hang with Gordon and some of those guys. Davis showed he can defend Jokic. I wouldn’t be opposed to him even being the starting 4 with AD at the 5. You get vando or reddish at the 2 to defend and reeves at 1. Woods is a versatile scorer and can play in the low post. He’ll consistently be going against the second best post defender since ad is starting
He was already here with LBJ and it didn't work as he was shipped out in the trade for AD.
So why would it work now?
Needs
1 a sturdy big that can rebound, defend those like Jokic and Embied in regular season, and a plus rebounder.
2. With that big as a back up to AD you need a 3 that's a solid 2 way wing.
3. A SG that is a 2 way player you can start and move AR to a 6th man role if hes not traded.
4. Is G Vincent capable of being the starting PG if Dlo leaves?
5. With Wood, Prince, Rui (if not traded), Vanderbilt, AR (not traded) makes the bench better.
6. I still prefer a reset to youth of current players and this year's draft pick as core.
C. 17th pick this year
PF Vanderbuilt
SF Rui, signing, or asset from trading AD
SG M Christie
PG JHS
6th man AR
Then vet mins, Trade assests coming back in AD trade (J Kuminga from GS), FA from cap space by letting LBJ walk or sign and trade.
Reason being most of current West Conference teams are young and ascending, while Lakers are aging and on decline as the bench is weak currently.
If you go young now you change your window of opportunity to be in a few years from now when those teams have reached there max potential while Lakers should be improving at that point.
If he wants to be bought out by the Pelicans and then sign for a minimum for the Lakers as a buyout, sure. Otherwise, hells nah.
Valencianas and CJ MacCollum should be the pair to acquire from the Pels

SG - Max
SF - Vando
PF - LBJ
