    You have to use both. It’s not about which one you use more (tho you’ll use what you call phased more). It’s about what you need in that moment. You explained it really well; the later in the round the more uncertainty there is so you need to start hugging the corners of walls more to clear out off angles. But with initial peeks or especially trades you want to treat their location like a hotzone. Any time you’re trying to refrag/trade your teammate you should have looked at your map and then you want to pre aim that spot and go for it.

  • @mikevismyelement
    @mikevismyelement 10 месяцев назад +2

    Completely depends on the situation/round time/info/strat/etc.
    Also, important note about the "phased" style, you should still be focused on giving tight, quick peeks to certain angles. You will lose more fights against the common angles if you clear them like an off angle.

  • @Occy
    @Occy 10 месяцев назад +4

    I see that fake Howl 👀
    One thing I think you could have mentioned is the relation to angle advantage.
    When you have angle advantage, a slower, more methodical tracking the corner approach works better bc you will always see the enemy first.
    If you have angle disadvantage, going slow is not an option because the enemy will always see you first.

      What I like to do when I can't be slow is to shoulder peek or just bait the opponent into revealing their position (they could shoot, run, throw util after seeing you); now that you got their position - you zone them, make them lose their ammo if you can, troll them hard, or in other words maximize your chances of winning the duel (util can help), and that's a free site.
      I watched a demo of one of my games yesterday, and from the perspective of the enemies I was at three places at once, zoning them hard and being all over the map.
      That was hilarious how they were focused on me and hesitant of commiting to site while I was far gone.
      The trick is to allow yourself to switch targets mid-fight, and have three 1v1s at once instead of one 1v3. That allows for more map control which is crucial - they can't flank you.
      Focusing for too long on an opponent who's there to only waste your time allows his teammates to gain more map control, since there's no opposition.
      Another rule is to never hesitate and plan your actions branchingly (meaning having plans for everything the opponent CAN do, not just one linear plan); and adapt the plans on the fly. This will make you act proactively and react to things VERY quickly which will win lots of rounds.
      In other words, make it so that nothing that the opponent does can come out as unpredictable or unexpected on every scale.
      This goes both sides

    • @theseangle
      @theseangle 10 месяцев назад

      Also when entering a site with lots of possible angles, or when defenders smoked your entrance off (imagine entering through Mirage pit), I like to throw a smoke in front of THEIR smoke so that you can leave their smoke without being exposed. Then you can play around your smoke and use it kind of as a wall that you can peek around.
      Everything I wrote is very useful when Solo Queueing, it allows carrying a team of mediocre players, because just frags/aim can't do that; map control does.
      Make the opponent hesitant, make them useless even while they're alive, is analogous to fragging them but with less risks. If they don't kill you they will be hesitant to advance forward and take position.

    I'm phased style. I'm kind of bad on hotzones but for example, I know that on inferno cts have awp. If I'm to pick banana i will try to risk it with wide swing to get awp on car with preaim on that position. I have kind of 50/50, if awp plays car I should get a kill. If he plays near wall, I have a chance of him missing a shot thanks to my wide swing. On the other side, if I want to pick a fight on vertigo on mid as ct I will first take a hotzones like someone is holding an angle from behind a generator but later I will focus more on phased clear, trying to get all off angles

    Are there just not enough things besides maybe callouts to warrant it?

    • @CrusheryCS
      @CrusheryCS  10 месяцев назад +2

      Doesn’t exist in cs because of the battles between regions. In CS, we can’t even agree on callouts internationally (in English)

      @deadfromhell1235 I guess I'm just thinking about it from the fgc perspective, where people regularly play together in person and travel, so different game communities just all use the same terminology so we can all understand each other. For online only games, it makes sense it's way more segregated, and top players don't/won't talk and share ideas cuz they're all on different teams and shit. Tho, ig coaches fill that strategy/game knowledge role in improving for the players

    • @deadfromhell1235
      @deadfromhell1235 10 месяцев назад
