Totally agree. Thank you for this review. I read so many bad-ass negative reviews of this film and I kept asking myself: why? Why? It was for me a breath of fresh air.
I think there are 3 main reasons that this film got negative reviews: 1. There are some people who have a hard time seeing Peter Dinklage in a leading romantic role. 2. People aren't quite as receptive lately to thoughtful, artistic films that bleed into gray areas where the rules are not as clearly defined. 3. There are a TON of people who need/want clicks. So, they feed the algorithm with terms and phrases that are more likely to generate clicks, views, and reads because it impacts their ability to generate personal income ... and humanity is drawn to warnings, gossip, danger, etc ... and the algorithms that feed us content key into our base nature. This is why there are floods of negative reviews for decent/good films and books. It's maddening and it's something I am trying to avoid doing even if it means that my audience grows more slowly. Thank you for your comment. I am so happy that you watched the film and liked it. There were so many clever things in the film, and the ending ... it just felt perfect and inevitable in such an unexpected way.
This movie instantly became one of my all-time top 3 favorites (alongside “Stay” - an older movie starring Ryan Gosling, Naomi Watts, and Evan McGregor, and “Annihilation”). I’m SO HAPPY to see a positive review haha! Seems a lot of people disliked this movie 😅
It was such a good movie! Funny, smart, quirky...and totally original! It's also one of my favorites. 🙂 I swear I think a lot of reviewers create negative reviews just for clicks and views. I prefer to talk about the movies I really enjoy because it brings people like you to my page who are likely to enjoy them, too!

I kept thinking trhough the whole movie that Woody Allen whould 've been perfect for this film.
More absurd than romantic.
Anyway it was ok 👍🏻
Yeah, I would not have been surprised to see Woody Allen walk on screen. This was an absurdist romance. :-) Thanks for the comment!
Yeah there was no promotion for this film at all. I may check it out eventually at the house.
It's good. It was such a nice break from the so-so movies that have been coming out lately.
Great review, you convinced me. I'm heading out to see it soon. :)
I hope you like it. It's definitely a quirky romance, and I'm curious what you think.
Thank you. You are the sweetest!
