I have a question regarding a statistic which Dr. Wu mentions at 17:00 minutes: only 0.5 percent of cases go on to metastasise outside the Thyroid gland. Dr. Wu seems to be talking about metastasis to either or both the lymph nodes or to other parts of the body. However, I have read elsewhere that lymph node metastasis from papillary thyroid microcarcinomas occurs far more often, in around 50 percent of cases. Would it be possible to clarify what Dr. Wu means by 0.5 percent, or whether there is a difference in numbers of cases of lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis from papillary thyroid microcarcinomas? Hi I am 35 year old male. I am diagnosed in incidentally with thyroid Papillary carcinoma. I am asymptomatic. The size of my nodule is 1.8 cm. My blood test are ok. No involvement of lymph notes etc. Nodule is near isthmus on right lobe. No outside lump visible but becomes little visible only when swallowing. Can I remain on active surveillance.

Over 1.5 cm they usually recommend surgery probably a lob.
