This is one of those games you can’t forget.. so many storylines. Both former Chicago players scoring (debrincat and Kane.) Petr Mrazek a former Red wings goalie facing his former team, Chelios jersey being hung up in the rafters, list goes on
It was the worst game in Hawks history. Chelios' jersey should never have been retired, and a stadium full of Hawks fans cheering for a Redwings player has made me so disappointed in my city and my home team that I don't think I can ever root for the Blackhawks again. Kane should be given no love. He lost his home here in Chicago. He should be hated for the rest of his life. Nothing he did with this team matters anymore, his three Cups are worthless now. And for thousands of Hawks fans to be cheering him? That's treason.
Then you're not a Hawks fan, you're a fucking liar. True Hawks fans hate Kane. He should be despised, and given no love. This is not his home anymore. Nothing he did for the Blackhawks matters anymore. The dynasty era is meaningless now, the three Cups he won are worthless.
I'm a lifelong Wings fan, I have hated Patrick Kane for so long because he's so damn good. But now that he's wearing the Winged Wheel and having this awesome comeback post hip resurfacing, I obviously love the guy now. This game was truly surreal to watch. From the triple lap to then 30 seconds later the Chicago crowd chanting "Detroit Sucks" (ahhh, rivalries) to the Cat goal that had absolutely no business going in, to watching Showtime himself with that OT breakaway storybook ending....I was almost in tears. Such a special sports moment.
This one's gunna go up there with McCarty vs. Lemieux in terms of all time Red Wings lore for me for not only the OT winner but, all the storylines surrounding the game. The crazy thing is, the Wings were having an off night but you felt like SOMETHING was gunna happen eventually and when Debrincat scored it was like "...ok here we go". I never thought I'd see the day where Wings and Blackhawks fans were both cheering for a Patrick Kane goal in a Red Wings jersey at the United Center.
Its not fcking fair..Wings were the worst team in league for yearssss and best we got at the draft was a #5 pick. Hawks going fro Toews-Kane to Bedard and possibly Celebrini is not fcking fair! They better get screwed at the draft like we always do!!

No, YOU'RE awesome for making this certified beautician of a video about an absolutely historic night. Hats off to every single person who was smart enough to be there. Best Wishes (the rest of the way this season), - A Stars Fan
Game was just epic. So many Chicago and Detroit storylines intersecting. As a Wings fan, I feel super fortunate to be able to watch what Kane does on the ice to a much greater extent than I've been able to before. He's so incredibly talented, smart, and driven! Good on the Hawks fans for retiring Cheli's jersey and welcoming Kaner back in style. That said, suck it Hawks!
the coolest part is on the replay from behind Chicago's net you can see that as soon as DeBrincat throws the outlet, James Reimer in goal for the Wings bows his head for a second or two in prayer.
I'm HUGE Blackhawks fan and Bedard fan. That being said he needs to change it up more. I watched most of their games this year and id say minimum 80% of his breakaway/open in front of net shots are high glove hand. That might work at lower levels when you have the release he does but it won't against NHL goalies. Riemer was absolutely sitting on that shot waiting for it.
yup. Kane's biggest asset as he's gone on isn't his hands or his eyes or his feet but his brain. he out thinks the goalies. Bedard will have to start thinking the game offensively and not try to get by on raw skill so much.
He’s been on the wings for months now and it’s still hard to believe my favorite player growing up is on my favorite team. If he resigns I’m for sure getting a jersey
I went to this game. It was an amazing experience. I was worried a while back when Bedard got injured that he wouldn't be back for this special day. Kane will always be loved by the hawks and I wish he would come back to the hawks. We need a Veteran player to help the new kids learn. Sure we got Foligno who is more of a Veteran, but I feel Kane would be more of a fit given his reputation with the hawks.
You couldn't have scripted a game with these storylines any better. The entire game was just poetry.
Exactly what I said when it all happened. Literally couldn't write something this incredible
Meh.
Very strange that during Cindy Crawford shot everyone was standing beside the net. Imagine if she missed the net.

I grew up in Chicago and watched Kane take us to the top from age 12 to 17
I was just as excited to see him score this OT goal as I was watching the Flyers goal in 2010
No, YOU'RE awesome for making this certified beautician of a video about an absolutely historic night. Hats off to every single person who was smart enough to be there.
Best Wishes (the rest of the way this season),

The atmosphere in that building was electric, this red wings team never disappoints we are so back!!
I think the octopus are often saran-wrapped to the body. Like, thighs n shit.
Nasty. Legends.
as a Hawks fan I was hopin Kaner would win it in OT more than I was hopin the Hawks would win, and I think most fans were in that boat
fuck the hawks
Scriptwriters went crazy wit dis one 😂
Game was just epic. So many Chicago and Detroit storylines intersecting. As a Wings fan, I feel super fortunate to be able to watch what Kane does on the ice to a much greater extent than I've been able to before. He's so incredibly talented, smart, and driven! Good on the Hawks fans for retiring Cheli's jersey and welcoming Kaner back in style. That said, suck it Hawks!
It was a very entertaining day/game.
I was wondering why Johnathan Toews wasn't there? That seemed pretty odd to me.
as a die hard wings fan kane is a huge impact and im glad hes in hockeytown
Hey blackhawks fans! You guys are a class act! Cheers!
That look over the shoulder right before the shot was like "WATCH THIS" !!!
the coolest part is on the replay from behind Chicago's net you can see that as soon as DeBrincat throws the outlet, James Reimer in goal for the Wings bows his head for a second or two in prayer.
Class act from the Chicago fans, that was pretty cool to watch.
I was there in redwings gear, best game I've ever been to. Shook hands with Chelios
Thanks for the content.
2:12 is that kris letang😂😂
Never seen a crowd cheer louder for an opposing teams game winning goal
It was a great ending to a great day! It was sweet!
This was one for the ages.......
2:24 a nightmare sight for video coaches
I can proudly say I was at this game and boy it was wild
He’s been on the wings for months now and it’s still hard to believe my favorite player growing up is on my favorite team. If he resigns I’m for sure getting a jersey
Miss Kaner so much man
you gotta plastic wrap the octopus around your body to sneak it in lol shows the dedication wings fans have
This was epic!
poetry on the ice
I went to this game. It was an amazing experience. I was worried a while back when Bedard got injured that he wouldn't be back for this special day. Kane will always be loved by the hawks and I wish he would come back to the hawks. We need a Veteran player to help the new kids learn. Sure we got Foligno who is more of a Veteran, but I feel Kane would be more of a fit given his reputation with the hawks.
Loved that Lalonde gave Kaner the A tonight for his homecoming, gotta cop a kAne away wings jersey
Perfect ending. Kane does it Again!
