I fall more in love with this company every time the more I learn about them! It’s amazing in the warmer weather as well. I spent the last 3 years hiking all over Florida. This was my go to item. I wore it comfortably in temperatures well into the 60s. I’ve seen some say it’s itchy, and I had that experience with the first time I wore it, but after only 1 wear, the itch was gone. My wife and son had no itchiness, but my daughter did like me. I’m telling you, if you don’t own one, get one, it’s more than worth it.
I love my Huddie. It gets a lot of positive comments. It is wearable in a range of temperatures. I am impressed by your bag liners. I like the idea of liner in the winter and as a summer bag. My question is. Can I have the bag liner made, so on one side it is only sewed half way up? This allows me to fold the open 1/2 to the side to uncover on a warm evening. As the night cools I can pull the flap over to cover me. I made a version of this type of bag liner out of microfiber and it is working great. But an Alpaca version would be lighter, have a wide temperature range , more packable and more versatile. Please let me know if this is possible.
I have 4 hoodies & absolutely love them, I have a couple of matching beanies as well. Got my first Watauga when they first came out and have attempted to get in on every color but they go fast. Got my wife wearing them now. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hoodie. If you appreciate quality then Appalachian Gear Company is putting out fabrics that you would really appreciate! Gotta be quick cause they go fast!
I have hoodies, beanies, buffs and a sweater and absolutely love them. I have a question. Why do you not source alpaca wool from US farms? I appreciate your videos. Thanks
GREAT QUESTION ! We tried to source our yarn domestically when we first started, but the US fiber/yarn market, specifically with Alpaca fiber, is still primarily a craft based market and we were unable to source the quantity nor the actual specification we needed. Most people don't realize that we had to come up with our own yarn specification for our proprietary manufacturing process, and we do not purchase "off the shelf" yarn. Our 100% Alpaca yarn used in the All-Paca fabric is made specifically to our technical specs. We do feel like the US manufacturing market will eventually be able to supply some of what we need, as it is a growing market, and we are always watching it closely. Thanks much !
