What I don't like about Moncler is that they produce clothings using extremely delicate fabrics, and then putting a high-end price on it. Like the clothing they sell is meant for runway/fashionshows almost. They like don't even recommend you wearing their jackets in poor weather.
Most of SIs garments are highly functional. Of course some pieces are delicate, but for the most part you can wear SI items and not worry if some rain is gonna fall down

There is no way that rivetti will let the stone island heritage die.. Its a business decision so he can sit back and drink some wine etc, etc.. He worked all his life to bring the brand up.. He will definitely still have a major say.. I feel moncler will be the one who benefits most from it..stone island material technology will give them a great excuse charge even more for a jacket :)

Probably my 2 favourite brands but both serve different purposes in the food chain. As long Stone island operate as normal I couldn’t care less. If the designs become more lazy and prices surge there’s a problem

Thanks for your comments. It’s nice to hear someone calm about the move, as there’s been a lot of panicking for sure. I think any changes will be gradual as u say, but if Carlo retires and there’s a new moncler-chosen creative director, then that’s the time to hold your breath and hope stone island don’t take a wrong turn. But since 1982 I think stone have managed to stay popular and healthy and haven’t made any serious mistakes as far as creative output is concerned. I think moncler understands why stone is so successful from there affordable price point and design ethos, so why would they stitch themselves up and end all that? Why try to fix something that isn’t broken? Thanks again for your views and cool jackets, and I’ve just clicked your subscribe button too! Aimee😎

And may be ladies wear added to the seasons as a change of direction
Possible colab between both brands to mark the occasion x

Monclergroup.com have a PowerPoint you can read. "Moncler and Stone Island are highly complementary in terms of price point positioning, covering different segments of the luxury pyramid without risk of cannibalisation" this was on the PowerPoint so my guess is that prices will stay the same. They also have a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats section. Under threats they have "mono gender" would be mad to get a women's line.

I think it won’t be a bad thing if both brands still stay in their own lanes, no different badges/logos just occasionally try using each others materials and ideas. I just don’t want to see the beauty that osti created get ruined by hype beasts and extortionate prices. That’s all I’m worried about. Carlo loved everything he did and wanted us to aswell, and I don’t think moncler have that same passion and love for their pieces. But time will tell could be a good move who knows, I’m not gonna cancel it before it’s started

Stone island was just so unique and did it's own thing; showing us buyers luxery brands at affordable prices instead of something 400-500 quid more expensive for the same quality in Moncler. I just prefer Stone island and now I feel its lost its identity a bit. That being said, I'm interested to see with what they come up with, but I'd rather this didn't happen. I'm certain the majority would agree with me

Stone islands quality has slowly been going downhill last 10 years it is now just a streetwear brand and the prices have been rising year on year. A lot of SI loyal customers will ditch the brand if too many changes are made. I bet the owners at cp are pissing themselves
The brand I think will suffer in the long run as Rivettu was very patio ate and hands on with all aspects of the brand.

Mat's Island strangely enough so would I being a long time fan since 1993 of both brands. Stone Island was becoming too hard to find any pieces for me as the years have gone on that again for me were even worth buying. Last Stone Island coat I purchased was 2 years back and it was the black featherweight leather down which for me personally is the last piece I could find even worth buying upon release and I've purchased many pieces over the years what are seen as key pieces today upon release when stuff was really popping up until 2013/14 after which is when it was a total wrap in my eyes for S.I! So hopefully this move will bring a fresh lease of life into Stone Island on a positive note!
