Thank you for the suggestion of using a plastic divider for a mixing area. I would have never thought of that, but it looks like it works great. I love your sketches!
Any plastic piece that doesn't have sharp edges can make for a mixing surface in a pinch, and I love the tag or divider because it's super easy to carry :)
Wonderful video Eve! I enjoyed it very much. I don't have this particular set, but I have a larger, metal tin set of Sennelier, plus I have made a small travel set using a mini mints tin. I love Sennelier paints - they are so beautiful. Have a blessed day Eve!
Thank you, Eve! I am using the Sennelier 5 tube Test Pack, and I think that these might be the most luminous paints I have ever tried. The Lemon Yellow is a staple now. I have never seen one with such transparency! Thank you for the sketchbook demo, I enjoy your channel very much!
Your review and sketches convinced me to buy an Aqua-mini palette with its lovely, vibrant colors. Lining the lid with sheets of Yupo creates a useful, white mixing area that the tiny kit is lacking. At my desk, a rectangular white porcelain sushi plate makes an excellent mixing tray. The colors mix very well either way.
I have the 8 color pan set and just ordered the 12 tube set for studio work. Thanks for your review of the set. You seem to share my opinion of the mini set.
The colors are so beautiful, it's hard to dislike the Aqua Mini (even with its shortcomings). I hope you'll enjoy the tube set, it seems really nice! :D
Thank you! That was very interesting. I bought the Komorebi paints a while ago and gave been eyeing the Paul Rubens set for a while now. Your thorough review made me kick the Paul Rubens paints off my wishlist immediately. I guess they are great too but I don't need both. Thank again, Eve, and keep up the good work. 👍
this video is so helpful, I just got this Sennelier set and really wanted to use it for this travel friendly purpose and your video gave me a lot of good ideas on how to go about this. Thank you!
Bonjour du Nouveau-Brunswick ! The lid of that tiny palette is thin enough that you could clip it onto your other page (or your support board if ever you use one), and the plastic window in the lid would act just like your mylar, to be able to judge how the colours will look on the very paper you are working with. Not as large a work surface, but sometimes there are just not enough hands! I like those little water pots that have clips on them, but if you use two then the kind that has two pots on one clip is better than two separate pots. When I am sketching outdoors, I go straight to the pen like you did in your first sketch. Otherwise I spend too much time erasing. This little set achieves some beautiful colours and the sky is to cry for! That fountain pen looks like good value, too. Do you have a review of that? Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork and knowledge. Merci aussi pour les poissons !
Bonjour!! :) I think you're right, I really made my life harder by using the extra mylar, when I could've just clipped the box like you suggested. I have some little pots-on-a-clip, they are for oil painting originally, I think? Mine has a rust spot and that's why I don't want to use them. Also, I know I'm gonna end up with water all over my painting... It's a really good idea though, I'll try to keep an eye open if I can spot a less rust-inclined set of pots-on-a-clip, or perhaps some slightly deeper ones. I have not done a review on the fountain pen yet, but it's on my to-do list to have a video about waterproof pens eventually and I'd definitely include this one. It's a really good value pen (about 12$, perfectly waterproof ink, doesn't' clog easily, portable and light). Thank you so much for taking the time to share your ideas and write such kind words, I really appreciate it! Merci beaucoup! ♥
@@EveBolt I have those metal clip-on water pots (a dual set) also, and when mine started to develop a tiny rust spot, I first wiped off any rust that would come off. Next, I gave the spot two coats of clear fingernail polish (with drying time in-between.) It has worked perfectly, and no more rust spots have shown up. Hope this helps you Eve. Have a great day!
The Aqua Mini set is a ridiculous price at Jackson's at the moment. I bought one in Spain two weeks ago for €9.90 which is just over a third of what Jackson's are selling it at. It was in an actual art shop too, not online. Shop around!
Lovely sketch! I like the plastic idea. I often make laminated sheets to act as a barrier - I put it behind sketchbook paper when using markers that might bleed through. It also works as a palette if needed :)
Thank you for this. You are a skilled and thoughtful artist and you have shared some great ideas here. If you don't mind though, can I suggest that you choose better reference photos? They don't do justice to your talent. I guess you usually work on location, painting from life :-)
Eve Bolt - Bolt's Vault I did. I got it on offer for £30 at Curtis Ward, so couldn't resist! I have added 3 colours to it, one is indanthrene blue, a red and a turquoise green. I must admit though, despite the different paints, my "reliable" comfy slippers are winsor and newton artist. I know those paints inside out. I want to try Schminke but from all accounts, they are similar smoothness/workability to Mission Gold, I have MG so I won't be buying Schminke until I have a little spare cash. 🙂
Love your sketches and they turned out just like the pictures. Very clever using a piece of plastic for your palette. Sennelier professional paints are beautiful, but their student grade are horrible.

I'm so amazed this is the very most realistic and best review I've seen so far
Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful! :)

I love the Sennelier aquamini. It was my very first watercolor paint. I was enchanted by it and I still love Sennelier.
That's is an awesome set to start with! High quality and lovely, smooth colors :)

Ce n'est que du bonheur vos vidéos. Merci
C'est vraiment gentil, merci beaucoup! ♥

I agree! And I'm really happy you like this set!! It's a lovely little thing :)

I have this palette. Not my favorite, but it’s the closest I’ll ever come to Sennelier. So a good buy.
They are great paints, so any palette or pan or tube you can get is indeed a good addition to one's options :)
Thank you for sharig! The plastic tag is a great idea!
Thank you for watching! Have a great day! :)

Montreal botanical gardens!
Like your style, keep going! :)
Indeed! It's a beautiful garden :)
And thank you!
Wow, your sketches all look amazing! Are you going to make a sketchbook tour once you`ve finished it?
Thanks! :D
I think I will! I should draw more in it though, so that not all drawings in the tour are also in other videos :)

Thanks! :D
Oh, good idea! I usually just put a regular sheet under my page so absorb the extra ink XD
Wow this is incredible 😍😍
Thank you! ♥ :3

Great video!!
Thank you! :)
I don't have this specific set, I do have an 18 set of sennelier artist watercolour pans though, and I love them, they are great paints. 🙂
They are indeed! Did you get the awesome 12+6 set? That one is such a good deal!

which mecanical pencil you used? beautiful this yellow!
It's actually a ballpoint pen from Zebra! Their "F-301 Retractable Ballpoint" in black :D
Thanks a lot

I see you use sennelier in the hahnemule sketchbook here. Hmm. Try it again, I guess its user error on my part. How strange.
This is not the Hahnemuhle sketchbook, it's probably a small Moleskine for watercolors :)
