When I moved to SM in 2005, there were only three Black women who were here full time and two or three men. There were others who came in and out but with few exceptions, Blacks were not choosing SM even for vacations. My soul celebrated to see so many of us at the Black History meet and greet. I love all people but I got a special joy see so many home folks.
Thank you so much Cynthia for gracing us with your presence in Feb. I am so happy you and a few others set the path for courage to move to this beautiful city...my 1st visit to SMA was in 2005 and who knew our paths would cross in 2023 in such a beautiful way opportunity for us to gather and acknowledge Black History month. It's been a blessing living in Mexico, the people of Mexico are everything, but seeing us enjoy this 'abroad' life as well, has been special. Looking forward to connecting again soon.

So happy to see this. I'm a black woman from NY and lived in San Miguel in 2006. There were like 8 black people living there. Lol! I was singing and became a star of the town being the first woman to produce concerts there. I miss the town and hope to return someday soon. This is great. Love seeing the connection happen.
