hes literally explaining how hes flying in the videos. theres no set way to fly every game that will offer you good positioning. its all relative to how the enemies fly and what they decide to do. most important thing war thunder players cant seem to grasp is that ideally u wanna be way more focused on defense rather than offense. getting high kill games is as simple as just not rushing in, taking a second to see where everyone is and playing around that. as long as you dont find yourself sandwiched between multiple people, youre generally good.
The worst gripen is I think a stretch. The darter might be shorter range and the loft might make it almost useless beyond 15 kilometers but the presence of it's extreme loft means that if you assume that flying at 30 meters RALT gives an average radar missile a 50/50 pk, the steep semi top attack loft in short range engagements I feel might makes that more like 20-25 meters for a 50/50 pk. Also provided you're only attacking within that range of sub 10 kilometers, the Delta V on the darter being 1150 m/s squared is absurd compared to the 850 of the AMRAAM. The speed achieved while the engine is on is consistently faster across most speed regimes then the AMRAAM. The main advantage of the AMRAAM is it's absurd glide performance but in terms of speed under burn it's the worst of the fox 3s. I still think the range of the AMRAAM makes it better overall on most aircraft, but specifically for a small super survivable and maneuverable plane like a gripen, I'd argue that a punch in the face super high speed short range missile that uses a steep loft even at semi close range makes the missile a better fit for the Gripen than a missile that's preferable at medium altitude medium to long range shooting missile where the aircraft does a lot of the work to give a proper launch (taking proper lead, getting up to speed on behalf of the missile, etc.)
9:59 they may have made a lot of mistakes, but I know few people who would handle this situation as calmly as you do. Your dogfight lines are really impressive
Honestly it has never been more fun - yes getting an uptier is hard, but not impossible to do good - a nice challenge. getting a downtier - playing against phantoms - is just not fair. Almost always get a 6+ kill game when playing it for an hour :)

I really regret going for the british grippen. I got to phantom fgr2 before i decided to ditch and go to germany. Got the mig29g and its awful in uptiers, downtiers its amazing but i needed more consistency, so i went back for the british grippen. Now i have it, i wish i got any other grippen. I love the R-darters i truly do, theyre quirky but damn i wish they'd be replaced by the 120s its just an unfair discrepancy for no other reason than gaijin having a hard on for the british tech tree.
I’ve been struggling to get kills with this grippy, I can survive, but I have to work really hard to get two or one kill, especially when there are many 120s on my team :(

Not really, when I get a 13.7-12.7 I still managed to get 1-2 kills, when I get a 13.0-12.0 I basically hunt every F4S down and easy 3-4 kills
stock grinding it aged me 2 years and gave me 5 white hairs
