Just went to their concert. What happened to him is sooo sad, but what he has become is AMAZING. Unbelievable band. Brilliant.
One of the best song writers of our generation and massively, and unfairly underrated
I can only hope this will give him the attention he deserves.
Asuhh Dude which generation?
@@DaneAraux I’d say any generation; his/Airborne toxic event songs are extremely well crafted and written.
What a sweet, full person he is.💜
Healing yourself is Important. Looks like he's found the Way to do that.
Lovingly-written memoir, despite the multi-dimensional abuses of his childhood. As a mother, I wept so many times at both his early deprivations and, in relief, at his later salvations. And you don't need to appreciate the emo bands he loved as a pre-teen (The Cure, The Smiths), to appreciate the harrowing story of his survival.
Best book i have ever read! I loved his dad, felt for the mom but he is a survivor. could,t put the book down.
Painful to read and an excellent book. It is so many people’s story... cult or no cult. Thank you Mikel.
One of the greatest songwriters out there. Bless you 🙏♥
Reading the book right now 👌
The book is AMAZING. Couldn't put it down.
I am born 21st of Mai, same as Mikel,
I also write, also play the guitar
and I lost my Father almost at the same age Mikel lost his...
Love the book!
Sounds like Scientology! Where is Child Protective Services? Jesus!!
Just finished Hollywood Park. Devastatingly beautiful!
A plus book. An amazing memoir
Good for you Mikel! Good for you!!
I love him. His pain is in his eyes.
Good story! Happy ending!❤
Where can I find his book? The first line hooked me.
I always remember ABTE's "Sometime Around Midnight". had no idea the front man grew up in a California cult.
I have more info on this
I've never heard of this cult before.
They became naranon
@@shagwell28 they became The Troubled Teen Industry.
They became CEDU, brainwashing teens.
@@coraje1388 and abusing teens. All possible forms of abuse 💙
my dad grew up here
His music / band reminds me of How I Met Your Mother
I hope someday he and his mother reconcile.
I think it's unfortunately for the best unless she's really gotten some help. I'd hate for them to reconcile only for her to gaslight and demean him.
no need. he has moved on.
Why?? To open himself up to be betrayed and let down once again?? Sometimes you have to “weed” yourself of those relationships that are not beneficial to you, even if it’s a parent.
It’s so sad that this organization was created to give people becoming sober a community so that they wouldn’t be lonely and isolated trapped in the viscous cycle of addiction, yet they perpetrated that crime onto the children of the members. 😢
Heavy book.
This cult made sobriety look unappealing lol
well they did give you lsd to combat your addictions bizarre really
This has nothing to so with being sober. This is about power and control.
The People presented in these pieces had VERY DIFFERENT Experiences than my brother and I.
My brother was there 3 yrs, while I was there for 1.5 yrs.
Synanon was perhaps the most safe and stable place Ive ever lived.
I understand that he will never tour like he used do now he has children.
PsyOps version of therapeutic intervention...😎
Nothing cool about it. As someone that went through the CEDU version of it, its nothing cool.
one has to suspect so -teens were order to join synanon by court order and it received state and federal funding without any financial auditing
the founder received a six year probation without any jail time after he ordered several murders seriously, one wonders about to whos benefit an army of mindless slaves was usefull

Ah! No, we couldn't owe in and we dont run Synanon current just because we hair. Worry. We're too full for ingrowns at this time. Pkys i was born here. We're cheesed by being so far From home. They going home for awhilr. You wont feel pulled by me.
Some who work at CBS PBS valley go well with Synanon. However, Synanon lights stop leaping off their paddies and into horse tables.
So he left one cult and joined another. wow
what one did he join exactly?
