Evil twin and mastermind specify on their character tokens that they overrule the normal good win condition by continuing the game, so I'd argue that no tie occurs in those cases.
There are two types of win cons, character abilities (mastermind damsel evil twin fearmonger goblin saint mayor cult leader etc) which overrule the normal win cons, and the normal win cons (2 alive for evil, all demons dead for good). While good wins ties, it’s only a tie if it’s the same sort of win. If evil triggers an ability win con and good has killed all demons, evil should win. lil monsta creates problems that overwrites the normal rules with respect to goblin claim holding baby and maybe saint.
@@sourwitch2340 this is easily disproven by the evil twin and mastermind (if the demon is dead, good has met its win con so if an evil twin or mastermind win con happens both teams have won at once) and has been repeatedly clarified by people involved in conforming the rules of the game. Specific ability text overrules game rules.
@@emmacone-roddy762 I do have a question now. maybe that'll clear things up a bit. if the Evil Twin is alive and nobody is executed on final three with an alive Mayor. what happens? if there's an extra day from the Mastermind and the Goblin is executed claiming Goblin. what happens? these are win conditions of the same type; how do these situations resolve? and why?
"If evil triggers an ability win con and good has killed all demons, evil should win" If final 3 is the good twin Imp, the Evil Twin, and the Recluse, should evil instantly win? Should the game continue until one team gives up?
When I first used it, I changed some of my shortcuts on the official app to the ones on the unofficial app. I haven't changed them back. Don't worry Emma, you're not alone.
I've heard that any number of conflicting win conditions is a tie, and good wins. Doesn't that automatically cover Lil' Monsta - Goblin ? BTW, it's hard for evil to bluff General with so many styles, so check with your ST before bluffing that.
This is a commonly stated not quite true thing. Good wins beat evil wins of the same type but there are two types of wins: character ability win cons and game rules win cons and character abilities win out, except with some lil monsta nonsense. This is necessary for eg mastermind and evil twin to work-if the good win (demon dead) beat the evil win (execute a good player on a mastermind day, execute the good twin) these characters would be pointless. If a minion damsels guess simultaneously to a slayer shooting the demon, the damsel guess would also win. Lil monsta-goblin would just be unwinnable for good if we followed this though so we make a special exception ad hoc-I’m told this inartistic and inconsistent solution has been the type of problem that has delayed an official guide to lil monsta for so long
@@sourwitch2340 the mastermind ability does not say so. Only the evil twin says good cannot win. In any case, my explanation of the hierarchy of wins has been confirmed repeatedly by Edd when he was with tpi shrug.
Emma is a great story teller. Really fun attitude and knows the game really well
"You start knowing 3 players, 1 and ONLY 1 OF WHICH is evil." - The noble.
yeah, vortox means all tf info is wrong
