Re zero is just special and it's not for everyone , the story, the VA, the music, the character development are all amazing and it just fits. This anime changed my life in a good way. You should def try it.
Yes. It grows on you, I almost gave up until the episode this song was in (S01E15 "Outside of Madness"). The episode itself was emotional gut punch after emotional gut punch for all of its 24 minutes. I've read about people curling up in fetal position and being in shock for a couple of hours after seeing it. And it is a turning point in the character arc for the main character, Subaru. I'm not gonna spoil the episode for you, but when the director heard the song, he decided to make the animation around the piece (it plays in its entirety for the last 7 minutes of the episode), and it matches the story so well that until to today, it happens I cry when I hear the song. And other pieces Kenichiro Suehiro has made for Re:Zero, especially season 2, are as good as this one, for example "The Eternal Freezing of Elior Forest" and "The Determination for the Trial"...
I guess I'm biased but ReZero is definitely worth it. It's easily my favorite series of all time after all. If you're looking for most OSTs to react to Signs of an Oath, Rondo of Love and Darkness, and Echt of Sorrow are great.

You know it's sad when he's 10 seconds in and says "Well shit... I wanna die."

Same bro re zero just hits different
the second half of the track that starts when it's building up for the drop is so good
One of the best if not the best ost in Re:Zero. The context of the scene makes it better tho, I wish you would watch the anime.
you are right about this music and holodomor...
