Have always used 89 in my 05 and 2020. Every 4th tank gets 91 or 93, pending what’s available. I’ve heard talk of the winter blend equals worse fuel economy. But you also need to take into account that during the winter, most people start their vehicles to warm up before they start driving, I know I do. And that idling equals worse fuel economy. When I left for work yesterday, the truck read -7 degrees outside, but the truck and heated seat were perfect !

Yes the ideal time on these trucks suck up some fuel. I’ve noticed that just sitting in line to pick the kido up from school. This is the first time I’ve run 89, All of my reviews have been on 87 octane. We’ll see if it makes much of a difference.

@@MOPARRAM-bd9zk I run 89 because I believe it burns cleaner and helps reduce build up in the engine. But I also installed a catch can to collect blow by from going back into the intake.

@@jimlove3795 I’ll be installing a catch can as well. It’s coming in the near future.

@@MOPARRAM-bd9zk I went with a Mishimoto catch can. Easy to install and it attaches right to your radiator mount, so it’s easy to maintain from that position. Looked at others but was not a fan of putting a bolt into my aluminum cylinder head.

Live in Mn our winter gas Sucks. Most people see Neg -3 to Neg -6 per gallon Mpg. My new 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn. I always use 89 in it. My now shows only 12.1 Mpg in city. In the summer it got 16.5 mpg.
