Crazy stuff. My parents live on Ocean Pkwy and I saw one of these old trains waiting on the layup track right before Ocean Pkwy station out their window. I did a quick Google search and saw that they were running from Brighton. I got dressed and walked to the Brighton stop and took two trips on different trains including a wooden one. I was very happy to enjoy the experience!

I rode on the BMT standards during their final two years of service on the Canarsie line. I still remember how they would go, "tchhhhhhh" as they came to a full stop.

Where were the "D" Types this year? How come no Low V cars or Slants? I rode gate cars on the Myrtle Avenue Elevated years ago. I'm almost 80 years old. I remember the 15 cent fare !! I was in the old Pennsylvania Station. I rode vintage buses on Fifth Avenue, also for 15 cents. The Staten Island Ferry was a nickel. I rode the old cars on the Staten Island Rapid Transit and old electric MU cars with 'openable' windows on the PRR, Erie-Lackawanna, the LIRR {MP-54 cars, Ping Pongs and double deckers} and old New York Central electric MU cars up the Hudson River to Croton-Harmon. I rode in the cab of the last GG1, then in service for N. J. Transit.
I rode on the NYC Subway 100th Anniversary Low V train with Mayor Michael Bloomberg operating it. We boarded it in the gorgeous City Hall Station after the ceremony. I have video of the event, speeches and ride. I rode on many "firsts" and "lasts" over the years, including the first BART train in San Francisco, first PATCO train in South Jersey, first PRR electric VIP Metroliner, first VIP Atlantic City Rail Line train, first Washington, D. C. METRO-RAIL subway train, first Baltimore subway train, first VIP PATH train to the re-opened World Trade Center Station, lots of last rides of Pittsburgh and Philly streetcar lines, etc., etc., etc. But sadly, I'm quite ill now, on oxygen 24/7, home bound. My days of rail fanning are over. Videos on my computer screen are my 'windows to the world' now.

Thank you for sharing. You have some wonderful memories.I guess they operated what they could. The only IRT cars I ever saw on the "Parade of Trains" were the R-36 Worlds' Fair cars before the pandemic. The Lo-V's were never a part of this event.

5:05 I was in that group of kids and to clarify what happened with the standard the throttle kept getting stuck when they were operating and the thing is, they just didn't know how to operate the train because it was a feature that wasn't being cooperative, but can be easily fixed
