I'm an admirer of José Saramago as well and have allso read The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis. It was a book I couldn't fully appreciate because I didn't have enough knowledge about Fernando Pessoa (still don't) and his so called heteronyms. In short, Pessoa made up over eighty pseudonyms that all wrote in their own style and had their own ideas and opinions. Ricardo Reis was one of those heteronyms. Interesting that you mention the short story The Chair, especially after using the term Satire to describe his work. I wonder if you know how the reign of the former Portuguese dictator António de Oliveira Salazar ended in 1968.
Thank you for your comments. I have to admit I wasn't aware of how the reign of Salazar ended and so I just looked it up. It certainly put a whole new spin on The Chair and a greater appreciation for the brilliance of Saramago's satire.
Actually, that's true and not true. I did record all of the award videos before releasing any of them but the rest have been mostly as I go along. I think you're probably looking at the date on the upper corner of the video but that's something I never bothered to set when I bought the camera, so it's whatever was set by the manufacturer. Honestly, my only qualification for doing these videos is that I've lived enough years to have read a lot of books. Otherwise, I'm totally incompetent. My technical skills are only slightly better than my speaking skills which are abysmal. My daughter-in-law taught me how to operate the camera but only the on, off and record buttons, the rest I don't touch.
You seem very well informed and well read. I enjoyed your video. Keep continuing to make videos!
Keep it up

You seem to have filmed most of these a while ago. Just how many do you have waiting to be released?
