  • Every Christian should be able to relate to this song "After This". Every one of us has faced troubles, tests, and trials. Many times we find ourselves asking the questions "WHY?", "WHY ME?", "WHY THIS?", "WHY NOW?", "WHY HAS 'THIS' HAPPENED TO ME AT THIS TIME?". One of the reasons Christian people have bad things happen to them is so that they will depend more on God to help them and see them through! God wants us to trust Him more! He wants us to learn patience. Therefore, sometimes we have to wait on the Lord for it is on His time-table not ours! He wants what is best for us and He knows the perfect time for things to happen. He puts us in the fire sometimes to refine us and make us better Christians. God's word says in Romans 8:28 "AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE". Just like the story in the book of Job. Job did not understand why all these bad things were happening to him. Things got so bad that he wanted to die. He felt like God was not hearing him. Even Job's friends were miserable comforters. They tried to make it seem as if all this happened to Job because it was his own fault. Job said, "My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me and they whom I loved are turned against me." It was though all his relationships with people had been turned upside down. They should have had more compassion for him but they did not. They just wanted to blame him. They slandered him. He pleaded for someone to have compassion on him but they just persisted in being cruel friends and cruel kin and continued to blame him. Job realized that God was in control and he kept talking to God and repented of questioning God and he also prayed for these horrible friends and kin that had treated him so cruel. The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before and as my song says, "After this lived Job on an hundred and forty years"! This story of Job is about God testing him and God does see Job through it all and he is twice blessed "AFTER THIS"! Many of us have faced troubles, trials and tests just like Job. We have felt like absolutely no one cared! Even though people say that they are praying for you there are very few people who put action to their prayers for you and actually do something to help you! Don't be a miserable comforter! So, the lesson is if you can help someone in someway, do help them as you pray for them! God will bless you for helping others when you can! Another lesson is that even if no one will help you, God is always there to listen to you and give you the strength to make it through your troubles and trials. He does care and you will live on. If God still has a plan for you on this earth, you will live on! If God is through with you, he will take you to heaven, if you are saved. So, you will still live on eternally! Job's desparate situation should have stirred righteous people to compassion. God gave them opportunity to do good just like He gives us opportunities today to do good and to do the right thing. But, like I said sometimes the only help you are going to get is from the Lord. He will take care of you! He will take care of His own! God wants us to depend on Him. Trust God more!!! Study his word, talk to Him and pray to Him! Obey his commands! Abide in the Vine and you will be fine! He will give you PEACE OF MIND!!! I hope this video will encourage you today to know that our Lord Jesus cares for us and He does hear our prayers! Just know that whatever trouble, trial or test that you might be going through, the Lord will help you! Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding!
