    Fantastic video. One of the things I really love on a hike is summit views where you don't see anything like farming or human settlements, and there were quite a few of those sort of views in this video. It is one of the things that makes hiking in Tassie so great, but I don't reckon as many people realise you can have that experience in SEQ.

      @AaronGrayOutdoors  Год назад

      Thanks so much. Yeah, I would have to agree. Summit views into remoteness is so much better. We do have awesome areas in SEQ but TAS will always be my favourite place to walk.

      @@AaronGrayOutdoors oh definitely agree, if I were to make a top ten list of hikes I've done, Tassie would absolutely dominate the list!

    Great video Aaron, you really manage to capture the grandeur of this hike and the 3 themes we’ve had on this. Low water, gympie gympie and broken shoes. Can’t recommend enough to people to not skimp on water on this hike it’s not one you want to run out on.

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors

      Thanks Jonno! Yep, you’re certainly right… Definitely had all three!! Requires a good heavy load of water, that’s for sure.

    haha you seem to be following me! I was there a few weeks ago too. At the Stern lookout. Amazing place, I want to go there every weekend.

      Haha, I promise I’m not 🤣. Yeah it’s a great place, although fairly busy nowadays especially on weekends.

      Yeah on the Friday there was nobody else, but as we came back on Saturday there was a group of 16 or so people coming up! Took some epic sunset shots at the Stern, but sunrise was a bit of a fizzer.

    Hey mate, awesome video, love the drone shots! I was just wondering how you brought enough water up for a trip so long? Or were there creeks and water holes you filtered water with and drank? Thanks.

      Hey mate, cheers! Nah. We both carried about 4-5L each and just had to ration for the two nights. The only water source is the one we crossed on day 3.

    Looks unreal - curious as to whether Funnel or the Mast are climbable?

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors
      @AaronGrayOutdoors  Месяц назад

      Thanks. I know the mast certainly is as I remember seeing a picture of someone tight roping between the stern and the mast. Insane right.

      @joekruger4973 Месяц назад

      @@AaronGrayOutdoors That does sound insane. I’m still just trying to figure these peaks out via the topographic map and in my head. Am I right in saying that in the first frame of your video on the left is where the stern lookout is, the centre but background is Funnel and the point one on the right is Mast?

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors
      @AaronGrayOutdoors  Месяц назад

      @@joekruger4973 correct. In order from closest to furthest is: stern, mast, funnel, prow.

    Hey mate! Looking at just doing the steamers from emu creek road. I don’t have a 4WD but is old mill road walkable to the start of the steamers hike? Does anyone know?

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors
      @AaronGrayOutdoors  Год назад

      Hey mate, yep it surely is. We only had 1 car available for the circuit so we parked at the corner of Old Mill and Emu Creek road and walked in/out. It adds about 2.5km each way of walking on the road. I hope that helps.
