An escape to Brisbane's ultimate remote campsite - Point Pure
An overnight adventure out to one of Brisbane's best remote campsites. Point Pure is located close to Brisbane in the northern section of the Main Range National Park, near Glen Rock.
Join us as we tackle the challenging 6 hour hike from the Glen Rock day use area, following a mix of fire trails and open grassy ridges to the summit of Point Pure. The campsite is a flat open grassy area with a magnificent view into the surrounding valleys.
I celebrated my 40th birthday atop this peak with some friends.
Shot entirely in S-Cinetone with the Sony ZV-E1 (16-35mm F4 PZ) and DJI Mini Pro 3.
Some of the gear I used (not sponsored) is as follows:

    Looks like it was a wonderful campsite! I've been contemplating this one, wondering how it compares to the Glen Rock summit and ridge traverse if you've done that. Were there any sketchy bits, or was it just hard uphill and overgrown? Did you carry all your water in?

    • @AaronGrayOutdoors
      @AaronGrayOutdoors 11 дней назад

      It’s a special place. I haven’t been up Glen rock yet, but no there were no difficulties. Just one really scrubby / overgrown descent from the ridge to the creek. The creek is 20min from camp so you can fill up there.

      @@AaronGrayOutdoors That does sound insane. I’m still just trying to figure these peaks out via the topographic map and in my head. I call places like Point Pure 'old country', as they remind us of how the entire country was before European settlement. The Mt Mistake Range was logged during the twentieth century and is now regenerating, however the western side around there may have been spared. It certainly looks pristine.
