Thank You Don he is a super entertainer and one of my mom'ma favorite singers. Try his song There's a Stranger in my House.Ronnie is always a great class act.
Ronnie milsap what a beautiful voice he is one of a kind he is blind but he still plays the paino I remember where I was the very first time I heard this song fall in love with the song and Ronnie milsap
Great classic country song! Ronnie was a fantastic entertainer. Thanks for tossing in classics like this every now and then! Another great classic if you will play it is Barbara Mandrell "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool".
love this song and also his song " That girl who waits on tables " i believe you will like this song also , Thank You for this wonderful Country music you are playing!!
Ronnie Milsap has always been my constant; I started loving him in the 20/20 Vision days. Other artist/boy bands have come and gone. I will forever love Ronnie Milsap. As far as I am concern; all I want to hear is Ronnie; being a singer myself I hear how great he is.
Nice Don!! Ronnie is awesome! Love his voice, and his piano playing is beautiful. Please do listen to more of his music you will definitely enjoy it. I love his song called , It Was Almost Like A Song. I know you will love it!
I live and grew up 30 minutes from his home town and my stepfather was from the same town. I saw him along time ago in concert and it was a great show. We live in God's mountain it's heaven on earth here.
Fabulous entertainer! Stranger in my house and It was Almost Like a Song have a little more substance. Thank you for this review. So many of the singers back then have been forgotten!
Don, bless ya. Unfortunately you are hearing a very subdued version for the fist time. It was a 1980 tv appearance, had to be watered down. This is not the original recording. Find it and listen to it, you will appreciate it so much more.
My favorite song when I was little, Still one of my favorites today! Ronnie's vocals are amazing! Beautiful voice! "There's no gettin over me" is a great song well all his songs are great!
Thank you very much for reacting to this. Well said! I don't have very many favorite (or even liked) songs from the 80s, but this is one of the ones I've always enjoyed. I don't even know how I ever HEARD it, because I had teenagers listening to indie music, then the beginnings of alternative, back then, and my oldest boy discovering and thriving on Metallica until they were THOROUGHLY metal, instead of any type of alternative. Ronnie was someone I could listen to to keep my sanity, sometimes! I'm joking, but I'm also serious! My youngest son was a teen when alternative hit its peak, when we were living in Aberdeen, Washington. He was always bringing me things to listen to from, say (with a shudder), Nirvana (Kurt Cobain was born and raised in Aberdeen), telling me had finally found some music that was "entirely new" that I NEEDED to hear. So I'd listen, and then find something on the internet that would totally refute the premise of "totally new." I repeatedly told him, "There's nothing new under the sun, son!" ;-) "Been there...tried it...done it...next?" Yes...Kurt's artistry was great, but...he really wasn't doing anything that hadn't been done before. Seriously...there honestly isn't anything new in music. Music has cycled and cycled through the ages, and always will. By the mid-2000s, my youngest boy (as an adult) and I could at least agree on Adele's artistry. Basically, he had followed through to discover the "totally new" sound of...old-style country! "Rolling in the Deep" (Adele) ruclips.net/video/rYEDA3JcQqw/видео.html "Hello" (Adele) ruclips.net/video/YQHsXMglC9A/видео.html Enjoy! ;-)
As I got older I came to appreciate Ronnie Milsap's music... When I was younger, I would get frustrated scrolling the dials looking for some Outlaw Country and every other station was playing his songs... Heard he has a new album coming out soon?
He has a new album full of duets from what I heard. I just saw a post on Instagram that said he's doing "No Getting Over Me" with Kacey Musgraves for it

If you liked this song I suggest you listen to Stranger In My House. Also due to being blind Ronnie Milsap's mom put him up for adoption because she thought his blindness was a curse from the devil.
To answer your question about whether he finds her or not, go listen to the updated duet version of this song he and Dolly Parton did on his "Duets" Album.
My absolute favorite Ronnie Milsap song, which with his list if hits is saying something. I love when, during the chorus after he sings the title he hits those low note keys making it sound like a storm. And finally, would it have been odd for her to packed up and went to L.A. looking for him
I was wondering if anyone mentioned that. The version with Dolly has an animated music video, and I was personally moved by the truck driver's sympathetic demeanor while listening to the protagonist's story, and while listening to him play the piano at a truck stop. It feels like people don't really just listen to each other's stories anymore, even the ones supposedly closest to us. I prefer the original song but the animated video was a beautiful interpretation in its own right.
Amazing for a live version! I might even prefer to the studio version, which I always liked. Seems like the string instrumental sound is a little less prominent, letting his amazing vocals stay in the forefront as the central focus.
@Barren Fields I just searched and think you're right, it appears to have disappeared from RUclips. That's weird since so many other performances of Ronnie doing this song are still up.

Don a new version of this song was recently released with Ronnie featuring Dolly Parton. Dolly provides the female response to Ronnie.
