The defence lawyers are raising very weighty matters of law as coded in the Supreme law of the land (Ugandan constitution). The tribunals' knowledge of law appears to be limited to the Updf Act only. They are neither quoting from the many articles of the Supreme law nor from any precedence from any court of records. Chairman and your team kindly confine yourselves to the barracks to avoid embarrassment. At this rate, my heart goes out to those poor soldiers who appear before court martial and cannot afford legal representation
Can one tell me something, why would someone who is charged never be allowed to sit down while everyone else does. Aren't they innocent till proven guilty. Isn't their health and safety as important as that of every other person in court? Some of these things need to be reviewed. It is extremely unfair.
