The one thing that still upsets me the NFL waited till after he died to put him in the Hall. I wasn't watching football in the 70's (I was too young) became a Raiders fan in 1980 (at 9). I've watched so many old Raiders games and read the "Snake" book multiple times. He's still my favorite qb, I even have a Stabler jersey. RIP Snake.
Co-inventor of the two-minute drill with Roger Staubach, and always an engaging, articulate interview. RIP Snake. Thanks for making the Oakland Coliseum “The House of Thrills”
You can’t imagine what it was like to grow up in the Bay Area watching the snake and the Raiders, the game was different, the players were different, the fans were different, California was different, we were blue collar, the team was blue collar, I would see them at restaurants, they visited our schools, that whole era was magical, across the whole country. It’s sad to remember when you see what has happened to this country, different times
Great Interview! I watched him play for years as a kid. I was a loyal Raiders fan because of him. He was the greatest comeback player I ever saw. The Raiders were almost never out of a game because of the Snake. He knew how to win football games and lead last minute drives to victories. Amazing player who was cool under pressure. He was a smooth and confident quarterback who knew how to win. I watched him win games week after week. He was exciting to watch and I never missed a Raiders game back then. And now he is finally in the HOF. They gave it to him posthumously which is ridiculous! He should have been admitted immediately after retiring. RIP Kenny Stabler
Thank you. Spending time with him was a great experience for which I am extremely grateful. Remarkable player and fascinating person. Would really have loved to hear his voice on all that has happened and is happening with college and pro football. But appreciative of all the memories he gave to so many.
Snake was the embodiment of Raider football well beyond stats/numbers. The swagger, the icy look on a final drive....When I see all these new age run option/wildcat/playground sprinters lining up over center makes me wish Snake could come out, take the field one more time and show them how it's done
Im a big old Lsu fan but got a lot of respect for the Snake after I heard Archie Manning explain his greatness. Crazy that Ken Stabler has that exact same fast rolling accent that a lot of people around Mobile still have
Life long Raider fan. Snake all time favorite Raider QB - HOF was too late, sadly, but he is there now with the other greats - the HOF got "greater" with his addition.
The HOF is a joke. Players like Snake, Drew Pearson and many others should have been inducted in their first year of eligibility. Anyone that is selected to an All-Decade team should be automatically enshrined, no questions asked.
I always loved to hear Snake talk especially about his Bear Bryant and John Madden. Listening to Kenny talk you'll hear him say the word win , winning a lot and win he did.

What a coincidence. I was looking for a Snake Stabler interview, and I found Paul Crane, the guy I use to watch on channel 4 in Dallas back in the mid '80s.
You did a beautiful job with this interview Paul. It could not have been done better. Kenny looked very comfortable and happy talking with you. Thank you for uploading this.
Best quarterback in the history of the game. I'm up in Canada and as a kid watched him and thought he was the chillest most skilled player in pro sports. Still do. I was captain of my soccer teams in the 1970s and patterned my confidence and strategies according to him. No one is or will be better.

I agree, it was so f--ked up for the HOF a yr or 2 too late. They should be ashamed of themselves...
He played when the nfl didn't protect the qb like today these soft qb today couldn't play when the snake played tough hard-nosed qb best the raiders ever had
Ken Stabler... BAMFer!!!
SNAKE!!!!
The Raiders would have not been shit without the Alabama kid
Hey Paul. How's it going?
Great! Thank you. How are you? (give me a follow on Twitter so I can follow back and DM there.. @PaulCrane7 )
Nah, Stabler had decent speed, he said he could beat Fred Bilitnikof in a foot race. Steve Young could outrun Jerry Rice.
ROLL TIDE
I was kind of mad when the "Mad Bomber", Daryle Lamonica, was replaced by Kenny Stabler...but grew to love the Snake. What a competitor

He was an informant for the cops. Why would anyone care about this guy.
Were u a cop & Snake your CI? If not, it’s just another rumor. And, it has nothing to do with football or the fact that he is the greatest QB that played for the Raiders.
@doesnot matter sounds like u been taking cough medicine
Used to see him once in awhile at the pink pony in gulf shores. Great guy. RIP LEGEND!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!
At age 60 now and not an NFL fan since Gruden was fired. But I grew up bleeding Silver and Black. I bet $60 of paper route money on Stabler to beat the Vikings to win the first gamble of my life. So sad how "woke-ism" just takes the joy out of everything it touches.
