I don't want to say Rot is inevitable but weatherproofing is something that needs to be checked multiple times a year on RVs. I've rebuilt significant parts of RVs due to rot even when due diligence was followed. Weather will eventually win if you give it enough time.
Exactly why you should have a certified RV inspector check an RV before you purchase it, it may be costly but it’s much more costly if you don’t have it inspected.
