Arkansas A.D. was impressed with prime time when he interviewed with arkansas. He said he just didn't have sec experience. He really was thinking about giving him a chance. Gus Malzaun. Came from high school coaching and was successful in the sec. Arkansas has a great coach in Sam Pittman but think about recruiting if Deon would have got that spot. He brought 31 million dollars to a falling city named Jackson. He changed the economic situation in one year. He went and visited regular citizens of Jackson Mississippi talked to them ate with them and asked them of their needs. Stop the hate and congratulate. Prime is in the building.

When FSU was interviewing coaches and Dieon's name was floated I was intrigued, and for one reason. I thought he had natural potential to be a fantastic recruiter and in today's age the best recruiting schools are generally better than the rest. Being a good solid coach is important, but recruiting is a little more so.
Prime has lots of contacts from throughout his career and is able to put together a staff that knows their football and can handle most of the X's and O's while he oversees things and can have more time to devote to recruiting.
All that said, I can understand where FSU was coming from. We were historically bad(by FSU standards) the previous 3-4 seasons and they saw how Norvell built a really good Memphis program with moderate recruiting talent and with his charisma thought he could turn things around faster than someone like coach prime. Not looking to have been the right call so far unfortunately and it's just unnatural to see him in something other than garnet and gold.

Deion was at least coaching high school at a competitive level prior to entering the coaching ranks in college.
I think he's going to stick it out at Jackson State University and take it to some of these FBS schools you look around at some of the coaching hires some schools most schools want a higher that makes them comfortable they want someone that looks like the board of regents that looks like the AD that looks like the boosters, they want to win with their guy that's going to do it their way that they can control that's not going to be bigger than them that's what the majority of the schools want there's exceptions their schools like LSU Penn State some of these rich blueblood universities that have historically been competitive even with bad coaches bad quarterbacks but a lot of these schools want to win with a certain kind of guy who's gonna do it the way they want it to be done.

When there is someone who the athletes will respect and look up to and who is a Seminole, we certainly should consider him as a coach. Perhaps "the powers that be", are waiting for him to gain a bit more "experience", but let's not miss our opportunity!

I think the kid realized Jackson State has more talent than Florida State and doesn't have to do to much.

Sketchy how DS handled Hunter signing. TH showed a lack of character by not informing the school he had been committed to for 20 mos. The JSU NIL had to be in process for months.
Hunter will take the money, dominate inferior completion, then enter transfer portal then end up at UGA; signing new NILs. Play a year, then declare. The blueprint has been printed.
