How do you have Kyle Klein below Paul Mcbeth in power rankings?!?! Kyle is 4-1-1 against Paul this year and Kyle has a DGPT win...other than that good episode guys
I could see it. Not likely, but it has merit. And give Hunter some credit. He has had takes that are WAY more stupid than this. (I got your back, you Big Hunt.)
Hunter is off his rocker. And he also just likes to troll. Brodie always seems to take the bait and gets worked up, but Trevor just tells him he's delusional.
Finally some recognition for Ohn Scoggins. The Power Ranking is not about potential wins but about results and the fact is, Ohn Scoggins consistently is in the top 5.
I just finished Glass Blown Open at Emporia. I finished +35 tied 50/146 (950 rated avg.). +7 won MA1. It was incredibly windy all 3 rounds. It sucked to lay up at circles edge par putt for bogey… it was a great experience, but it wasn’t exciting golf tapping in pars and bogeys.
The offers being equal, no sane player is leaving 10% on the table. There might be more opportunities available for Innova or Discraft player but 100k more, don't think so.
Last year Paul and Calvin went into a playoff at -25. Every year we see the same thing where scores are lower and lower on the same courses. No one said it was too soft last year though.
I think the combination of Jomez’s expose piece on Kat, the exciting finish, and her emotion at the end make her win the most compelling single tournament story I’ve seen in disc golf. I was pretty dang emotional seeing her get the trophy.
That was one of the most raw, emotional reactions to a win that I've ever seen. I'm glad to see Kat finally notch a major win - she's shown she has the talent but has been up and down in the past. This year she is definitely showing more consistency, and it's paying off.
Krisitn spoke before Jonesboro how she had been so focused and "pedal to the metal" recently, and especially cuz of Champions cup, that she felt tired and drained. She was ready to go back to Estonia for a couple weeks and see her daughter and family. That's really why we saw her "checked out" like we did. We have seen her struggle this season, i.e. Open at Austin, but we hadn't seen her "checked out." Not an excuse for her bad play, just a reason for her lack of focus rerally I think.
The only time I’ve ever seen a copperhead was right after it bit me at Mayflower. I felt a pinch/sting on my leg, looked down and saw the snake, then screamed like a little kid. I was on high alert for the next few months when I played disc golf. I still haven’t seen another copperhead.
Trevor, last year pro tour championship was a last minute decision to move it from hornets nest to Nevin with only a few months of prep if that. New tee pads and hole placements were made too. Thought they did am excellent job for the time they had.
I live in North New Jersey, one of my discs landed 5 ft away from a snake. Eating a frog live. Most intense nature I've ever seen playing disc golf lol I saw like seven in a tournament round two weeks ago, pretty common up here
Living in San Diego, it was always a thing to go play Torrey Pines (public golf course) when they'd grown the rough etc for the PGA tournament comes through. DGPT needs to adopt a similar philosophy.
One time I encountered a snake up in a tree at about eye level at Codorus State Park, Pennsylvania. That was a year or two ago and I still can't go into those trees without intently looking for snakes at eye level
I don’t think the Wind can be the only defense, but I think it’s a factor that a course designer should think about when the course is designed. I think there needs to be more OB on this course
The JC round was great but going perfect even on an easier course is way more impressive. I’d take Paul’s Waco or DGLO all day. The nerves to overcome for perfection is what makes it impressive.
The problem with adding an OB line to a missed fairway just to make the course more punishing is taking away the hype of scrambling. As a fan of the sport, we all like to see tough yet possible up and downs from a heavily wooded lie which is completely fair in my opinion! On a hole like 14 on Jonesboro, not having an open birdie putt from the woods but still having a slight chance of making it, is much more entertaining than watching a par putt a meter in from an OB line.
I have only been playing dg for less than 2 years have seen a lot of snakes probably 20 or more ! Was just standing their on a snake nest lime four or five snakes at once
Ive been playing for over 25 yrs all over the country but mostly in Texas. I never see snakes until last 2 yrs. I saw 15 in one day of the same type. It was during a dry period at the course.
I agree with a lot of your points about Jonesboro, but here's a thought I had while watching the final round...... Eagle and Calvin were neck and neck the entire way.... Match play. I expected they'd both par 18 and push to a playoff. The way they were playing on this course would have made for a super exciting nail biter of playoff. The could've pushed 10 more holes. That would've been some sick golf. That wouldn't be possible on a more technical course.
I think there should be much more hazard play on the Pro Tour, forcing players to not only take the stroke penalty, but also get creative on how to mitigate the damage.
Calvin doesn't play for second and same for Eagle. The great thing about having a nice contract is being able to be aggressive and not having to worry about the difference in pay between 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 3rd, etc. I totally agree, for pros the rating is irrelevant.
You've gotta pay a lot of money for the rights to do so. Jomez paid a quarter million just for post production rights. It would be really cool though... Maybe they could get a guest spot commenting from time to time
So pros do make all these pro level courses look very easy compared to what they actually are. We need some average guys at different levels play these pro courses the monday and tuesday aftet the pro tournaments so people can see how hard they are and how good these pros really are. The levels of average guys should be: 1- ma3 level player (max distance 350) 2- advanced level player (max distance 450) 3- under 1000 mpo player. This should make it more obvious for how hard the course is. Secondary to that i do think pros are way bettet than the average player and i think they requite a bit harder of a standard of play. One if the biggest things is that unless there is some pretty bad wind, every top pro should be capable of making every put inside circle 1 and every top pro should be able to land in circle 1 in regulation. So where ball golf gives 2 puts to make par, i believe in disc golf peos only need 1 put to make par. So par for pros should be: # of shots to get to circle 1 + 1 put is what oar should be. The only other option is keeping par as is and making baskets the "correct" size for disc golf discs rather than the current size that was designed for larger catch discs.
the further down the season we get the more the course at The Open at Austin is getting vindicated, I really hope we get to see a cleaned up version of it on the tour next season
"Kristin really struggles at courses that are easier and thats why she lost." Kristin won this exact same course by 10 strokes last year. Foundation has some of the dumbest and most short-sighted takes in the business
I think a -16 by James Conrad in the final round would've been more impressive than the -17 calm day. Maybe that's why ratings are still useful to show the difficulty?
I think the pro's maybe could use their own, seperate rankings. I think if i understand it, the am's and the courses pros dont play are causing theirs to be pretty inaccurate
Hunter (and the DGN guys talking about whether James round would be 1100 as if that means anything objective) keeps talking about PDGA ratings as if they are criterion based. They are not. You can’t compare a 1098 now to a 1098 from any previous year as any kind of basis of comparison because the rating is based on a set of players at a specific course on a specific day. The PDGA rating, as a norm referenced rating, is more similar to a ranking system (which is also norm referenced), and not at all similar to a criterion measure. “Being rated 1035” doesn’t mean anything, other than as a general prediction that you will tend to beat players who are 1010 and lose to players who are 1050. Which is true. It’s not the rating number itself that matters at all, just the “ranking” of the players by their ratings which is mostly accurate and close enough to be meaningful when making predictions of who is likely to beat whom.
I honestly think gannon will get more money staying with prodigy than any other company after this early leaving contact situation. These disc golfers are marketing, and any golfer who doesnt respect there contract is a risk, but when they are also willing to say the product is bad is a terrible marketing decision. Imagine a company trying to project the value gannon gives you, if you dont keep Gannon happy or he jusr decides he doesnt want to honor your contract, he will say the plastic is bad and the new disc are worth buying, and make other disc golfers hesitant to sign with you. Prodigy knows how much gannon is worth, and they can offer a big amount, just something to consider when companys are gonna want to lock gannon down for a long time. In 5 years if disc golfers are making 2 or 3 million and he wants that instead of the 700 thousand, is he gonna blame the plastic again, and can any company pay that much to have people stop buying there disc.
Hunter, I KNOW you see this comment and WE KNOW that you're bullshitting for interactions. You DO NOT believe that gannon actually would take less money LMAOOOOOOO. reply to this or NO BALLS.
This course had the same winning score as a ton of other events. Why is this being called soft when it matches several others relative to par? It averaged -10 just like the rest of them except Memphis
Kristen did say pre round interview that she was mentally exhausted from the hardcore focus at the majors 5 days prior. Might be why she didnt perform as well. Do you guys listen to fpo interviews because the infos there.
Might be a hot take about Eagle but this talk that he "doesn't look like himself" is nonsense. We are feeling like this because the last time we saw him was European Open, where he and Paul looked like they might never lose again. Calvin won last year shooting -22 which would be one of the lower winning scores this entire season… now it’s soft when it matches several other final scores relative to par???
I just think kristin was just mentally not in this tournament. Could be a bit to fatigue after the major. 4 rounds of the dominance she had during the major probably took more out of her then we think
You guys have gotta be trolling at this point when it comes to ratings. What was the field like at fountain hills for that -14? What was the weather like?
I don't like the take on the hole ten make it OB for the little wood area. Players should be rewarded for being able to softly pitch out of woods onto a fast slanted green. Plenty of players go in there and don't get out. Also the wind wasn't just down r1 and r2... it was non existing. I'm a local and the only local that played this year(could play) and I have never been on that course in 8 years where the wind was that dead. Not just 1 but 2 rounds. You put a tiny bit of wind 5mph it drastically changes the difficulty of hitting c1 with all the open and elevation change of the course. I do thing we need more OB but it should be like hole 3 right side or hole 4 right side a s hole 7 right side where the Fairway needs to be more narrow and reward accurate drives and not let someone just smash a drive even if it's 100ft right of line. And still have 300ft in for 2nd throw on these par 4s. As a local I can also inform everyone that the course will be very different next year.
I think Hunter is correct... Gannon go back to prodigy because he would be comfortable IF everything gets squashed and they can all move on. Even with a little less money. Caveat is if greed takes over~
If the best players in the world have never shot a perfect round, even in perfect conditions, playing essentially the same layout for multiple years, it’s not too soft. That is part of the thrill as a spectator and a player; thinking you might be witnessing a “perfect” round. When that happens, then raise the bar and make it harder or change venues. Also increases chances for playoffs, which everyone loves. Who cares if they are shredding it??
Conservative play would work if everyone else also played conservative. But people are good so when they go aggressive they’re going to gain strokes. Do you have to play aggressive, and you have to be good.
Paul and Ricky have such a high reputation, but I think they should just be booted from the Power Rankings. They are so many other good players moving up.
Not gonna lie it seems like you guys are complaining about the course every week. I don't think there's a course in the world you guys would like. No matter what happens i feel like you'd say its either too easy, too fluky, too much ob, not enough OB etc.
I have never agreed to Nate doss but you guys are very wrong. You got to play smart. Calvin bogeyed hole 5 and running that putt after eagle played up. Calvin played dumb and made his win harder than it needed to be.
I think as content creators, we're broken. Because I had the same thought as Trevor about getting bit by a snake for content... maybe we need more therapy lol
How do you have Kyle Klein below Paul Mcbeth in power rankings?!?! Kyle is 4-1-1 against Paul this year and Kyle has a DGPT win...other than that good episode guys

That is part of the thrill as a spectator and a player; thinking you might be witnessing a “perfect” round. When that happens, then raise the bar and make it harder or change venues. Also increases chances for playoffs, which everyone loves. Who cares if they are shredding it??
Oh how nice it would be to throw 475' line drives with a super overstable 9 speed cough cough Eagle.
Hunter… 300K…. No way you were serious, you had to be trolling.
Hope you guys rally from the hack
Is it just me with no sound??
I hate hackers
Hunter should just slap some sense into that blonde dude !!! Hunter is dead on with Gannon taking less to stay at prodigy
Ratings are important. I don't care what yawl say.
Loser has to have a disc stamped with their face on it with the words “I was wrong”.
One of their putters, so they have to use it a lot.
I'd buy a disc like that. It's got my name all over it. I'm also in "moron" and "ironic." Which is literally, iRONic.
I have never agreed to Nate doss but you guys are very wrong. You got to play smart. Calvin bogeyed hole 5 and running that putt after eagle played up. Calvin played dumb and made his win harder than it needed to be.
Just food for thought; James Conrad twice has finished better than Simon Lizotte.....
I think as content creators, we're broken. Because I had the same thought as Trevor about getting bit by a snake for content... maybe we need more therapy lol
"Hey guys, if I shoot under par with a snake around my neck I have to give the snake away" 😂

I vote konner gets to dump the bucket on loser 😂😂😂
