Gosh dang, the devs seriously need adjust Gideon's A.I. It literally makes no sense for him to roll towards you and not at least whack you or something. Gideon's 1v1 against Rennala at the end of the first round also made me mad.
The best part about Rennala is that it isn’t even her: it is a trap-illusion created by Ranni should anyone ever try to harm her mother. Sort of an ideal version of her in Ranni’s eyes. As such the real Rennala, in her prime, would most likely be far more intelligent, powerful and dangerous.

Also, did Rogier have his rapier for that matter? The dragon summon appeared to last for an unnaturally long time in the second fight too.

If there's one boss whose "prime" I would love to see in game, it's Rennala. She never fights us at all, technically, and the closest we get to seeing the Queen of Caria at her height is through Ranni's illusion. It's possible that it's a fair representation of her strength but we definitely don't know that for sure.
We "fight" her on the first phase and she can hit like a truck there. In the second phase was solely a illusion but i kinda loved how stronger she was, but the thing is, she have really low HP and that's what's disappointing about it. Also lore wise I completely agree that she was much stronger than the illusion Ranni created. She hold her ground against Radagon and Marika, her variant knights are op as hell too

Maybe idea for next video: I don’t know how it works, but battle between non-invader/supporter NPCs? Like Kale, Fia, Roderika, Turtle pope, Boc. Basically NPCs you don’t expect to fight. I don’t even know if they can retaliate in the real game, though.
I'll refrain from pointing out the misleading title, because the more pressing matter is how close it was AND GIDEON OFNIR THE ALL-KNOWING nearly beating Rennala on the first round.
I also don't understand why they made it so that Rennala can't take damage when casting Full Moon as with every other spell the caster can be damaged while casting it. That mechanic honestly saved her quit a few times since it leaves her so open. It is the equivalent of if Gideon or Malenia were invincible while casting Scarlet Aeonia.
Feel like Ren should have only been allowed to use magic and not summon anything. Feels hollow with most of "her" damage coming from summons the others don't get to have.
These mages fight always make a little upset that Ranni doesn't "officially" have a moveset/AI within the game. Rather than her being a boss within the game, it could have been a bit similar to Melina where she's an optional battle support summon in a boss fight so she does have a moveset/AI people can then later use to mod in these type of videos. The fact that Ranni even have a spell to her name, on top of the game having Cold sorceries which is what she was taught by the Snow Witch when she was younger... Like.... There's just a huge missed potential. Maybe in a future DLC (doubtful, but still)... I reckon she could have performed well here, especially if she had access to Comet Azur (I don't see why not) and maybe even summons just like her mother (Blaidd? Iji? Would have been funny),
I liked this battle of wizards it was very interesting because in it we could know who is the best sorcerer!! . More because in the last round gideon didn't use his life flasks because as far as I know he has about 2 no 🤔? . Hail man and I thought this battle of all magicians against everyone was really cool, the results were surprising but it was pretty cool in the end 🤓😄👍✌️.
Really wish there was an endgame mage boss. Rennala's good but she is only rated for about 1/3 of the way through and the fact that the other mages, even in the endgame, struggle to equal her says a lot about mage bosses.
the problem is that, with the game having PvP, the spells need to be balanced for PvP, which means they can't be powerful enough to give end game players too much trouble, since that would make for an extremely unhealthy meta.
@@windhelmguard5295 Well it's not like they haven't been afraid to Wallmart the boss moves. Just look at our SA vs Malenia's. Either way the problem is stats and movepool for endgame. Rennala and Gideon have near even stats despite being at opposite ends of the game.
It is not that other mage bosses are necessarily weaker then her but that fighting Rennala with magic is the worst way to do it due to here 80% magic resistance so everyone was doing reduced damage to her. Other bosses like Gideon can probably beat a lot of enemies she can't, it is just the fact that Rannala is essentially an Anti-Mage Mage that she looks so strong it this video. Also the fact that her range seems to be way bigger then everyone else allowing her to be on the other side of the map and still hit snipe people with Azur while they can't hit her, as seen in the first battle when her Azur could hit Gideon while his could not from the same distance.
Can you stop giving Gideon a move set that is impossible for him to have normally because I honestly believe that it messes with his AI. Also I think not giving him Rancor was a mistake because in a group fight like this it could have been vary powerful. Azur might have also hindered him because without it he probably would have been more aggressive and less passive. People say it is his strongest spell, but honestly I think he is at his best when he doesn't have it.

Rennala isn't much faster, and she attacks far slower.

If Gideon would run more instead of Walking ominously towards his opponents his attacks would reach and hit more. Its so frustrating.

Maybe idea for next video: I don’t know how it works, but battle between non-invader/supporter NPCs? Like Kale, Fia, Roderika, Turtle pope, Boc. Basically NPCs you don’t expect to fight.
I don’t even know if they can retaliate in the real game, though.

That was some B's for sir Gideon she got hit by his bean 3 different times and it did zero damage
I also don't understand why they made it so that Rennala can't take damage when casting Full Moon as with every other spell the caster can be damaged while casting it. That mechanic honestly saved her quit a few times since it leaves her so open. It is the equivalent of if Gideon or Malenia were invincible while casting Scarlet Aeonia.
Looking at this I realise how ridiculous fromsoft games have become.Its like looking at a dodge roll simulator.

Feel like Ren should have only been allowed to use magic and not summon anything. Feels hollow with most of "her" damage coming from summons the others don't get to have.
These mages fight always make a little upset that Ranni doesn't "officially" have a moveset/AI within the game. Rather than her being a boss within the game, it could have been a bit similar to Melina where she's an optional battle support summon in a boss fight so she does have a moveset/AI people can then later use to mod in these type of videos. The fact that Ranni even have a spell to her name, on top of the game having Cold sorceries which is what she was taught by the Snow Witch when she was younger... Like.... There's just a huge missed potential.
Maybe in a future DLC (doubtful, but still)...
I reckon she could have performed well here, especially if she had access to Comet Azur (I don't see why not) and maybe even summons just like her mother (Blaidd? Iji? Would have been funny),
I liked this battle of wizards it was very interesting because in it we could know who is the best sorcerer!! .
More because in the last round gideon didn't use his life flasks because as far as I know he has about 2 no 🤔? .

Really wish there was an endgame mage boss. Rennala's good but she is only rated for about 1/3 of the way through and the fact that the other mages, even in the endgame, struggle to equal her says a lot about mage bosses.
the problem is that, with the game having PvP, the spells need to be balanced for PvP, which means they can't be powerful enough to give end game players too much trouble, since that would make for an extremely unhealthy meta.
@@windhelmguard5295 Well it's not like they haven't been afraid to Wallmart the boss moves. Just look at our SA vs Malenia's. Either way the problem is stats and movepool for endgame. Rennala and Gideon have near even stats despite being at opposite ends of the game.
It is not that other mage bosses are necessarily weaker then her but that fighting Rennala with magic is the worst way to do it due to here 80% magic resistance so everyone was doing reduced damage to her. Other bosses like Gideon can probably beat a lot of enemies she can't, it is just the fact that Rannala is essentially an Anti-Mage Mage that she looks so strong it this video. Also the fact that her range seems to be way bigger then everyone else allowing her to be on the other side of the map and still hit snipe people with Azur while they can't hit her, as seen in the first battle when her Azur could hit Gideon while his could not from the same distance.
@@torru36 Fromsoft for some reason didn't give Gideon Capital of Ash area scaling even though that is where you fight him.

Can you stop giving Gideon a move set that is impossible for him to have normally because I honestly believe that it messes with his AI. Also I think not giving him Rancor was a mistake because in a group fight like this it could have been vary powerful. Azur might have also hindered him because without it he probably would have been more aggressive and less passive. People say it is his strongest spell, but honestly I think he is at his best when he doesn't have it.
Seeing this makes me want to play my Astrologer instead of my Samurai, but my little Glintstone pebble doesn't hit like this, lol
