This vid has literally saved me a real inconvenience! We’re going away tomorrow and the door suddenly wouldn’t stay shut. I removed the lock from the caravan and the spring fell out onto the floor. Using this video I was able to see how to put it back together. Big relief, thanks for taking the time to post this. 👍 Phew 😥
That’s brilliant, main reason why I started the Channel was to help fellow caravaners. Have a lovely holiday. Please subscribe if you haven’t already and if you have thank you.
Thanks for watching, yes your right Mark, pure wear and tear with mine, possibly worth changing barrel if a van is getting older, preventative maintenance. 👍
This was very helpful. I actually don't have the keys so can I stake it out and buy a new lock to fit in and what exactly will be looking for because when I Google it will give me a lot of locks
Hi providing you’ve got access to the inside of the caravan then your in the same position I was. My lock was broken, you haven’t got the keys so you could drill the barrel out and obtain a new barrel . The Caravan parts supplier I dealt with, ( details in video description ) were very helpful.
Hi Paul, thanks for watching and commenting, I would take a look at the spring it may have become partially unseated. Take handle off and just check it’s seated properly. Failing that see if you can buy a replacement. Link in description to the company I used they were very helpful.

Great job! If mine goes I know where you live. Lol
Knowing where I live could be a problem when it breaks after I’ve repaired it! 😂😂
Hello, it’s my door handle that has become slack but the locking mechanism works
