Some people build and decorate for themselves and some build and decorate for the a approval of others , your home clearly a labor of love for your family , very cozy and inviting , well done .
Yes, so true! Your home should not be showroom to impress others. It is YOUR calling card based on your personal inspirations, interests, passions, lifestyle, and/or preferences.
Very well stated! Love this.
What a pleasure to see your beautiful house
lovely hostess, great house although sorry to say I dont care for the motherhood painting
It is a lovely house but I wouldn’t say it is unique it looks like many house and garden / farrow and ball Instagram posts. I don’t think we intentionally follow trends but we are all influenced by them subconsciously. The colour drenching in the grotto, strong coloured bookshelves in there and the snug / tv room, cane used on the doors of the bookcase, all very current trends and popular right now.
In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful houses in this channel.
One of the best issues of Homeworthy ever- Very down to earth yet playful, fun and so colorful- so Scandinavian IMO. I am very glad she told us the names of the mfgs. of the rugs and the artists who created the designs. Makes it much easier to find some of the things she has used in her home so we can too. This should be the template for all future videos- have the owners of the home explicitly detail where they got the furnishings or textiles. Thank you so much for this one.
She's a maestro. This is one of my favorite homes. I took so many screen shots. Totally inspirational.
on repeat...
Thank you for bringing us to Sweden!!! Love to see international decor!
I never leave comments on these, but this one was very special. She is also very hip to the younger generation who seems to value their childhood home than previous generations. I have noticed this alot from those 25 and younger, a nostalgia and attachment to the home they grew up in. This woman is really on time and in her time. Good job, it's a lovely home.
I love the colorful and effortlessly stylish feel to this home. It was a pleasure to view it.
LOVE...her aesthetic, her connections, her very personal designs. This home is a testimony that we can each curate our own homes if we dare to be true to ourselves and our loved ones.
Your home conveys exactly what I think ones home should: comfortable, cozy, curated, interesting and eclectic- very well done! Oh! And not fussy or feeling overly precious!
Tout à fait d'accord avec vous 😊tout ce que j'aime ❤❤mon foyer lui ressemble beaucoup,et j'adore les maisons qui vivent qui dégagent tout ce que vous avez cité ❤❤😊
Classic lamps everywhere! ❤ and all on too❤
The banister is STUNNING!
This home style is attainable and beautiful. What stands out the most to me is that it screams “cozy home”. I adore it.
Probably my favourite yet - so warm, welcoming, interesting and cosy
One of the best classic good quality homes! Thank you!
Very warm and charming. I enjoyed that she talked about her background because graphic designers make good textile designers and painters. I can relate and have worn many hats in design, and I like how everything in interiors informs us on the blending of various design elements in a home. I see great taste in the artwork selected and that eclectic mix from traditional to modernist utilized so well in the home. I can see her home is uniquely her families and she is respectful of everyone's needs. I love her appreciation for her grandmother's chair and that's very special. It's what a home is all about and is the soul of a home. There's a presence in that that brings peace and tranquility. We must honor the past. It is so important to recognize what came before us and make those heartfelt connections. I have several pieces in my home that were my parents and it's cool to realize they had really good taste. You get to share in the beauty they saw and lived with. It's a feeling of belonging to something much bigger than ourselves. Homes tell stories and should tell lots of stories. Its why collecting vintage is important as well in a home because it invites other stories into the home. This is another great house tour by Homeworthy.
I’m also a pattern designer and I found her to be such a kindred spirit! I relate to the way she noticed at a very young age that she loved homes that people took the time to decorate and make it so personal and comfortable. I hadn’t heard someone describe it quite that way before. I loved her home so much! Every detail was special and now I need to visit Sweden 😊 thank you so much for sharing your lovely home! ❤
Loved your home for reflecting your authentic self without filters. Its real and so lovely.
The best one yet; she is real… refreshing ❤
I love her definition of home at the end. Well said. 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I love her way of decorating her house..colourful and has vibrant..😊
Over the last few weeks I have searched RUclips exclusively for nordic inspired home content, to no avail. What do you know... Today Homeworthy pulls through with this quintessential heritage inspiration? I want to say I'm surprised, but I'm honestly just convinced there are geniuses working for this team of people, answering the universal call of the viewers lol. Thank you so much for all involved with the making of these videos.
This is a beautiful home! It makes me want to redecorate 😊 I love everything about it, so warm and cosy.
I love all of the color and patterns throughout your home and adore all of your lamps and shades too.
Loved this home so much, so cozy and beautiful. Please more Sweden. This was just a fantastic home and decor.
Oh wow, especially love the kitchen and dining nook, and the textiles, and the Art,and and and ♥️♥️♥️
It truly is a cozy and comfy home. I also love that you honour other creators.
Beautiful home I think you are the first person that has ever explained what a true Home is 💗
Great home , thank you for letting us see it
Your definition of home really resonated with me: Home is my kids' childhood... this is their safe space. I feel the same as you. Due to finances and skill, we haven't reached perfection in our home like you have, but I am also a homebody, and I love what we have and love trying to make it better, too.
Love the functionality and simplicity and colors. The painted furniture pieces are beautiful!
I was expecting "tradidional beige Swedish home", but you showed a home I would love to live in - a true elegantly colorful gem - thank you!
This is what "old money style" means to me! Stylish, elegant, heart felt. Just wonderful.
Loved both her and her home! It was such a treat that I made myself ration it by watching little segments over several days. Her style is extremely cozy and classy.
I have only seen 3 Swedish homes that weren't sterile, and hers is one of them. Cozy and so well put together--but at the same time does not scream "designed". Lovely, just lovely.
Sweden was never in my list but now it is! Thank you for representing your culture the way you did. Splendid.
Jätte bra och mycket elegant. One of the very best Homeworthy tours in a REALLY long time. Charming and chic as only the Swedes can do. Fabrics are top notch too. Tack så mycket!
One of the most beautiful homes I have seen! Such a well-designed, lovely and cozy home! A dream home for sure😍 Kind regards from Brazil
Gorgeous gorgeous home! I am so inspired ❤
Such a warm and inviting space! Super cozy and functional. Well thought out and simply lovely. Love the host's style and elegant yet down to earth demeanour. Well done!
I think we all agree...we need to see her summer house!
I love the colors, patterns and texturized pieces. So, so lovely❣️ It’s moody and calming for me. 🤩
Swedish minimalism is decidedly my LEAST favorite style - but this caught my eye as far more interesting, and, YES! Cathy does herself, home, family - and country! - proud. This is warm, inviting, SO inspiring and lovely. Thank you for showing us that Sweden has more to offer in the design world.
Many Swedish homes are cozy. Minimalism sells, but regular people want cozy.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! I enjoyed watching!
Love your home! Love the colors!! So cozy!!! ❤
Beautiful and comfortable! I really like it! Thanks for the tour!
I’m from Canada 🇨🇦; I understand the dark winter’s, luckily I face south and get brilliant light. Your style is very similar to mine, I get things I love, I love thrifting! I’m a professional artist so anything hand crafted and a ton of textiles live in my house.
I’m so glad you choose not to do the typical Scandinavian design, which is way over done and boring. Your home is warm, fun, and I hope other Swedish people embrace more colour like you 🌈🇸🇪🦄
Stay well!! 💜💜💜
I love that she leaned into the moodiness in the grotto instead of trying to lighten it up!
Beautiful. Love the colours and all the textiles. Very original.
A beautiful hostess and a wonderful home. Love all the various fabrics that you designed. So wonderfully designed home. Thank you so much for sharing.
Love this and will watch it again and again. Great videography as well. 😊🌻❤️
Very tastefully eclectic, warm and cozy house. Love it.
Thank you for sharing your home. It is truly special and thoughtfully appointed. 😊
I hope there will be more Sweden this was 👨🍳 💋
absolutfel beautiful home such a good taste, one of yr best so far thanks for Inso
Really lovely home. I would love to see more homes in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, etc. Thank you.
We have so many beautiful homes in Sweden. Far from Ikea and minimalism.
This is incredible thank you
I love the 'motherhood' painting.
Very SENSUAL!🎨🖼
I liked it too!😌
Maybe she should have put that in her own bedroom because it’s in a space where her kids play and watch tv, also she said her kids have playdates in that room so I wonder if that painting should be in that space where kids play.
I like the painting it was really well done, but I just feel like it’s not appropriate for younger kids to be looking at it in their space that they spend so much time in.
Beautiful !
Love every decor piece in this house ❤
I love houses that have books
What a beautiful family home. Full or treasures but not precious in any way. A great example of good taste with enough money to execute that taste, which not everyone with money manages to do.
Beautiful!! Such an interesting home full of personal touches. Love all the textiles.
One of my favorite houses on Homeworthy!!
I totally agree on the minimalist and scandi point. I'm from Sweden myself and it really perplexes met that this is the general consensus.
I've always wondered myself. Swedish ceramics, Norwegian and Finnish textiles are all well known for their vibrant colours and patterns. Ceramics by Nylund, Lindberg, Triller; textiles by Isola and Ratia for Marimekko; Roros tweeds from Norway - none of them could be considered minimalist. Quite odd actually.
@MTMF.london I wonder if it's a case of the styling? It's never really about print on print as you see in maximalism. The prints in Swedish styling are typically main features and not accompanied by competing pieces. It's never busy, lines are very defined. But I'm perhaps thinking more 1980's onwards.
@@yas_makkSwedish homes represent the whole spectrum.
Generally, Swedish homes are nicely decorated, and feel home-y.
Wonderful family home❤❤❤
One of my absolute favourite homes. Saving this to look back on later.
this home is just so beautiful
Beautiful colours and design. Very comfortable and homely. Love your home 😍
This is one of my favorite homes- love it
Super cozy..love the dark rooms the best
This is a beautiful space !
Beautiful, inspiring home
From the USA. Love, love your housse. Thank you for sharing.
Love the use of color!!! Favorite is the kitchen!
The kitchen is so beautiful.
Beautiful home and lovely hostess. The only person in all these Homeworthy videos who oronounced Schumacher in the right way😉 Al the best to her and her family🍀 Greetings from Germany 😊
The lamp in your entrance looks exactly like a Manises lamp, which are made in Valencia, Spain. The shape, the little flowers, the golden base, everything about it is very "Manises". Beautiful lamp and interior!
really love dining rooms with libraries
Very cosy home! Much love from South of France
Fabulous home!
Beautiful home, and I love to see European homes on here now!
I love it so much 😍
Love this beautiful home
LOVED IT
A pleasure to watch this 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ episode!🤗 A different design for what we know as Scandinavian Style, but really beautiful! A very inspiring home!🏡 I'm going to look for the book this lady recommended: ,,Tommorow and Tommorow and Tommorow,,- by Gabrielle Zevin📖 Thank you!
Yay! My homecountry!
Please do more Swedish homes
This isn’t my style, but find it really beautiful! So well done with the colors, so much warmth and personality. ❤
Now I want to go home and redecorate :D
Super like for those rugs done in Ukraine 😍
I LOVED IT.! I only wish there were more written referances to the different brands to explore.
Wow! So nice...
As a new mom, i find it very heartbreaking that her kids find the stretchmarks "disgusting" when they are the reasons they are there in the first place.
8 years ago white walls were in style. Now colour is in style. So her taste has evolved with fashion.
superbe
I am a mother of 4 so I can relate to stretch marks, I just wonder why you don’t have it in your bedroom since you love it so much and have it in the boys hang out room and they don’t like it. Just curious, not judging. I have a canvas of a woman I looove as well but have it in my bathroom, she just seemed perfect there and I see her every day. It’s of a woman from behind though. Our bodies go through so much during pregnancy and delivery and I know everyone does not get stretch marks but in general I think we should because to feel beautiful regardless and men should because to find beauty outside of what airbrushed magazine photos teach them is beautiful.❤I love that you have your grandmothers chair in her favorite personally chosen fabric. That makes it more special. I would love to design wallpaper and rugs. I love color and texture and mixing different prints and styles. It’s fun and adds interest. I am the black sheep of my family, my siblings homes look like a magazine where Everything matches. I lived in Japan for 3 years and have 4 pieces of furniture I bought there and 3 Japanese wedding kimonos which are colorful as are 3 of the pieces of furniture are colorful and my family tells me throw out the furniture and sell the kimonos or throw them in my closet. I won’t ! Why blend in when I was born to stand out ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have 4 paintings my great aunt painted on my walls too and my siblings never would. It’s good and fun to dance to the beat of our own drum and be happy doing it. I think people that do that and not conform are people who can find beauty in the most simplest and unexpected places. Hugs to All ❤❤❤❤
Your house is very colorful & beautiful dear . I love your dress & shoes . God bless you & your family 💞. Sorry to say this but please remove the ‘nude’ painting from the study / book room if it disgusts your kids . I don’t understand how some artists can call a nude painting as ‘mother’ !
I’m more of modern/contemporary but I like to see how the other half lives every now and then 😊
Just a little FYI - you misplaced the dots over the O in her name in the caption, and you basically changed her last name from Northstream to Nerdstream... The correct way is Nordström!
