Oh neat. I know exactly where you were fishing. I just realized I skipped the intro where you literally spell out the spot with the name of it. I thought that island across the way looked familiar! I was one of the OGs from that beach. Part of the first group of fly fishers off that beach. No bragging or a some kind hero. Nothing but amazing memories on that river and river mouth. Early 80's. Not much there at the time. Except TONS of fish. I'm sure people fished there years before I did but let's say it was before it was popularized beyond just the locals up there. Last time I went up there I literally ended up driving to Port Hardy in order to catch fish. That was well worth the drive. Not a fan of the water situation there unfortunately.
