I'm so glad you noticed that! There are so many spells that I forgot to use for some certain scenarios so I decided to arranged them based on their color and elemental type.
@@LordPinder im def doing that in my next run, i tried to arrange them by how often i would use them but i dont think it actually helped so i might as well make it look nice 😂
I accidentally broke it even further. Inside the globe of invulnerability Hope managed to cast divine intervention repeatedly without consuming it. She basically nuked the area each turn (without taking damage frome retaliation of course). I don't know if it was intended to work like this or just a glitch.
For me I was saving the barrel of smokepowder I stole back in act 1, I basically made Gale invisible because he didn't have that good initiative and then cast the globe of invulnerability, convinced Yurgir to join us and he basically set off the explosive, which didn't kill everyone per say but did destroy 3/4 soul pillars, then the rest was cleaned up by my cleric casting divine intervention and Hope too.
@@Dreamsyn I placed it in the center of the room just a little bit down from where Raphael spawns, it doesn't deal a lot of damage to him since the pillars basically give him a lot of damage reduction but it does take out the pillars and some cambions
The Globe is so old I kept using it before Honor mode even existed But I always used Hope as a healer. plus her Banishment spell has a unique side effect. She can banish an unwanted guest from the house permanently, and she can cast it twice. I left the Divine intervention untouched and it was still easy going enough :D
I used barrlemancy to destroy all the pillars and most of the cambions instantly, then I finished the fight by using Shadowhearts Command: Grovel every round. At Spell DC 25+ it's 100% to make Raphael (etc) grovel for the round. He bascially can't fight back. Elixir of Initiative helps here too, making sure you get critical attacks in early.
That's really good! I presume you pick the right answer at the Mirror of Loss for the extra stats, right? As for the barrelmancy, I used it on Ansur since that was the fight I struggled the most.
@@LordPinder Globe is basically a cheat code for Ansur also. Any normal team, like monk + sorc/wiz + cleric + swords bard/fighter/whatever can lay waste to him with impunity. I'm doing a solo honor run now, and I'm inclined to just barrelmancy him also =) But I am giving strong consideration to a fire sorc with globe up also. I'm just not sure I'll get anough actions if focusing on globe instead of haste, and if I use a haste potion I could well go lethargic before getting the kill...Maybe I'll compromise in between with just *some* barrelmancy.
@@garyco766 Strongly recommend barrelmancy if you're going solo. That skinny ass dragon literally zapped everyone in my party even with the Globe (I think it's a bug) but luckily I leave someone behind in camp as a backup plan.
@Maxedd Odd, I did him on my last honor run using globe, and it went without a hitch. When he nuked, my whole party just shrugged. I'm not sure why it didn't work for you.
My usual strategy for Raphael is to just preemptively set up three smokepowder barrels, each topped with smokepowder bombs, around each of the four pillars. Then on turn one, just kill Korilla to stop her Counterspell shennanigans then detonate the smokepowder with Magic Missile- it'll instantly destroy all four pillars and severely damage any of the cambions standing by.
I usually use 6 smokepowder barrels 4 between the pillars , another 2 on top of those smokepowder barrels next to the pillars (6 per side) then I unite them all with a row of oil bottles going from one side of the room to the other passing through where Raphael spawns, at that location I add acid barrels, smokepowder barrels, the runepowder bombs I steal from the gnomes and a few tanks from the Nautiloid , then I cast globe of invulnerability and I just shoot a fire arrow at one of the oil bottles, to make it explode and start the domino effect. 90% of the time the whole place explodes to the point the pillars fall, cambions die almost instantly and Raphael is killed in the process or it just needs a nudge to be killed. I send to camp every single barrel I find throughout the game for this same purpose.
@@garyco766 yeah but in their case they were in the globe of invulnerability and had no reason to try and end the fight as soon as possible. those arrows are way too fucking expensive!
first time I did this fight I had a really high ac party, with two warlocks immediately going to work on those pillars while the astarion and lae'zel quickly wiped out everyone else. it's really fun to see how other people handle it.
This spell makes almost every encounter easy 😭 I had over 20 scrolls on the final boss fight and the bosses move that destroys the standing pads don’t do anything lol
I've saved like 10 scrolls of Chain Lightning just for this fight. Create water, cast lightning spell, max damage with Destructive Wrath and eveything will pretty much explode.
This is my plan on my solo run. I should be able to put down like 6 chain lightning on round 1. Or maybe 4ish and globe or sanctuary, then repeat for round 2.
used it during channeling the crown, however I think if AI would choose to push you out of the radius it could be waste of 6th lvl spell, not sure how AI behaves in higher difficulties (went for mid one, second run will go for highest)
I had three scrolls of this spell as well as having it prepped for Gale and only used 1 scroll and one spell. Also brought tons of smoke powder barrels and saved the rune bomb just for this. Made the fight SO much easier.
I did the same but not on honor mode, the spell is super cheese when fighting boss. Raphael got CC blasted by my elderich blast warlock/sorcerer, Gortash got barrelmancy in the face
Every time i see these kinds of videos i'm sorta a bit jealous. Because i have to restrict myself to enjoy his theme :D I've beaten Honour mode three times, the first attempt Raphael just didn't do anything significant, the second time he instantly vent into Ascended Fiend form and personally bitch-slapped my character with super fireball, and third... Well. He died before his initiative. No glove, no barrelmancy, no cheats, no mods, no illithid powers. Just pure and simple builds that Slap with capital S.
If I played again I wouldn't use Globe because it trivialises the game and I played through on tactician. Removed all suspense from fights. Really overpowered spell until they rework the AI to shove or pull you out of the bubble.
So you didn't destroy pillars, just minions. And then hope you get his hp down before he can heal? Watching on small phone so hard to distinguish it all.
You're right at the first part. I didn't destroy the pillars but I had Gale casted Globe of Invulnerability in the middle of the room and then finish Raphael off. And Hope, well I didn't use her that much since no one in my party took any damage.
@@LordPinder Those 2 and Viconia. She is sneakily one of the toughest fights in act 3. She just has sooo many guys, and they use a nasty darkness spell that they can see through and you can't. And the room is so big it's hard to AoE them all down.
@macvadda2318 there's a lot of videos of people killing him in 1 round. It used to almost always involve a broken illithid power. But you can do it with smites, hold monster, bhaalist armor, or several other ways.
