I am one of the fans who enjoyed seeing Bart Starr's jewelry in the Packers Hall of Fame at Lambeau. I am old enough to remember Starr as a player and he is the reason I root for the Packers to this day. He was a class act to the end and he will never be forgotten.
Bart epitomized everything you could ask for in a great quarterback - leadership, toughness, brains, and clutch play. Even more importantly, he epitomized everything you could ask for in a human being - class, dignity, courage, humility, and kindness. This world would be a much better place if there were more people like him.
Thank you mr Bart Starr for donating the championship rings do the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame that video of you scoring the winning touchdown in the Ice Bowl will live forever well as long as there's NFL fans
RIP Bart Starr......Thank you for showing what is best in sports. Always a class act....a remarkable and genuine human being. You make Packer nation proud and we are forever grateful. Prayers to your lovely wife and family.
I've often posted that I'm a Packers fan rather than a player's fan. However, Bart Starr was my role model and idol ever since watching the 1960 championship game. My first book on a sports personality was "Bart the Cool" which I purchased when I was ten. I still have the tattered and torn edition with cribb notes on the pages. The three men I miss most in my life are my father, my brother, and Bart Starr. He is the model all athletes should strive to emulate. RIP, Bart. I still celebrate your birthday on 9 Jan.
From Canada...I had that book! It was from Scholastic Book services, and I'm ashamed that I lost it over the years. Been a Packer fan and a Bart Starr fan since the early 60's.
I met Bart Starr at Clark Air Base in the Philippines when he was part of the USO show touring the Far East Military Bases two weeks after the Packers won the 1st Super Bowl in 1967, I was Packer fan since 1964. Rest in Peace Bart a Very Humble Honest Classy Gentleman.
I was a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan. I started watching pro football in 1964 at 8 years of age. I have to be honest in saying that Bart Starr was the first NFL QB that I didn't like, but It wasn't because I thought he was mean or anything... he ALWAYS beat my Cowboys.😂 When I got a little older & more mature, I realized what a gentleman he was, and along with Johnny Unitas, being the competitors they obviously were, probably the greatest QBs in NFL history. R.I.P. Bart Starr God bless our pro football heroes from a bygone era.🏈
I’m a Rawhide Boys Ranch alumni. I was there as a boy from 1981 to 1985…much longer than most. I guess I needed the help more than some others. Bart and Cherry founded the ranch with my Rawhide “parents” John and Jan Gillespie. Thanks to John,Jan,Bart and Cherry,Rawhide saved my life. I was looking at a few years at Lincoln Hills Reformatory, but Rawhide reluctantly took me in. Bart and Cherry were AMAZING people, and I was so BLESSED to have them in my life…John and Jan too. Jan passed away a few years ago,but over the last 4 decades,I still see or talk to John at LEAST once a week. Thank you to everyone.
My childhood hero. What an amazing player and man of character and integrity. What an era of players. I visit the GB Hall of Fame in October 2015. What an experience! Got a Green Bay Packers football uniform the last year I believed in Santa Claus. Mom promptly sewed a number 15 on the blank green shirt. Number 15 will live forever in my heart. Thanks for the memories Bart Starr!
I met Bart in 1966 at the lincoln-mercury dealer in Joliet, Illinois. I was 8 years old and my baby brother was crawling around and Bart picked him up in his arms and talked to us what seemed like forever. In 1990 a house fire took everything including his autographed picture and a poster of my other favorite Ray Nitschke. As life would have it in 1997 my brother and I got to meet Ray at the Rosemont convention center and I just started to cry. Here I am a 39 year old guy, 6'6". 275lbs. and crying like a baby. Ray came around and hugged me and put his arm around my brother. When I see anyone who is famous and they don't have a moment to share with a fan I just think of that moment.
As you age you really appreciate the no-nonsense guys that don't beat their chest but just go do it. This guy was that! Quiet, efficient, and a true gentleman.
I was 6 years old watching green bay beat the Dallas cowboys for the championship game. I fell in love with Bart Starr and the Green bay packers and been my favorite team all these years. Thank you so much for the memories!! Rest in peace Bart Starr.
What a commitment to an organization! I think it's amazing that the organization held him in such high esteem and I hope will continue to do so for generations to come
Compared to Favre and Rodgers, Bart would be the first to say that he did not have the talent or the physical ability that they had/have. Yet he only lost one playoff game, and was the MVP of the first 2 Super bowls. Thank you Favre and Rogers for your great plays, I loved watching. But the best quarterback, the best player, the best man, to play for the Green Bay Packers was Bart Starr. He did more with less talent.
God bless bart starr and all he does for the boys ranch and all he has done for Wisconsin and all packers fans you forever will be our hero and class act I wish you well
A man among men! Truly, truly a wonderful man, great quarterback, and inspiration for many! He played football, he coached football, but above all these given accolades, a man with deep character qualities! What a honor for me to watch him play during the late 50's and 60's with Green Bay! Those glory years of pro football, never to be seen again!
What a true legend! Thank you to his wife and family for the great gift that is a true treasure! We'll never forget Bart, he is everything Green Bay Packers football is about and strives to be in pursuit of perfection.
Rest in Peace, we loved you, , you gave us so many wonderful memories and we thank your family for your treasures, it is good that they stay in Green Bay.
Love you Bart! For some reason I feel like I can feel your presence watching over me. Thanks for all that you have done for the city, state, and league. You’ve had a tremendous amount of impact on my life, thanks and rest easy!
I don't know why I thought about Bart Starr today. I was thinking about this GREAT player today. I am a real man, but I was deeply moved. If wasn't for my favorite player UNITAS, he would have been the greatest 60's QB. Starr a real man! Bless you brother.
If more athletes in today’s nfl were more humble and like a bart Starr I would love the nfl again but what I see when it comes to on and off the fired behavior and greed of how much money I can make is ridiculous. It’s a pattern you see In society today. I don’t see it getting any better. I really do wish there were more guys like Starr and when you find a guy like this one tell the media to focus on these kind of guys and not the ones that break the law and demand money through holding teams hostage.
Bart Starr had the gentleness of a real man, father and husband. Furthermore,he possessed a warrior like mentality, which enabled him to step up his game in crucial situations to bring about victory for the Packers.God bless you Bart! ❤ R.I.P. Sir!!
When I worked at the airport I met bart star every year he would come in for the Lombardi golf tournament great tipper great guy he made my buddy turn his hat around just to take a picture got his address so he could Send him a autographed picture He was class personified PS his wife cherry was grace's to
His plunge into that frozen south endzone at Lambeau field is to this very day my first memory of the NFL 50-some years ago. Bart Starr was the definition of _Class_ in pro sports, right alongside all-timers like Stan Musial and the few like him. Back in the day when civility ruled.
I had three sports heroes growing up, Bart Starr, Bobby Orr, and Carl Yastrzemski. I don’t think that I could have chosen a better triumvirate. Rest In Peace, #15. ❤

Rest In Peace Bart! A true class act and a life well lived.
Rest In Peace to the legend Mr. Bart Starr. Your legacy will carry on forever, sir.
wow, what a humble guy, wish their were more like him today!
Oh what a wonderful world this would be, if we had alot more like him!
Hes gone now :(((

Well said..#15..forever..from a life long Boston/New England fan!!
When you look at Starr in his final years, remember, that's life. But also remember his best years. Not just as a player, but a man of his community.
Rest in peace, Mr. Starr. A true champion, NFL icon, and grace and class personified. Tell Coach Lombardi I said hello.
He passed today. Rest In Peace
Bart Starr is the reason I became a Packers fan. He will never be replaced.

Bart was my all-time favorite player. A great leader, winner and gentleman. I was fortunate enough to have known him. RIP Bart!
I will admit to being a life long Lions fan. But I must say that Mr. Starr is a class act all the way!
The players were much smaller than today but the game was vicious and it shows the impact on so many 1950's to 1970's players.
Jack Smith
You mean the players were
less fattass... right?

Bart Starr a great player and a greater human being. RIP...
Packers are the best operation in pro sports. My team was moved to Indy by a drunken fool and now a coke addict son.
What a human being. Absolutely a class act
Bart Starr, a great quarterback and a great human being.

Probably the first player I remember.
Ive always wanted to meet him...Only saw him for 3 secs at a cold raining game against the Saints.
$100,000 for Bart Starrs ring? Definitely priceless 💎
RIP Bart.
I remember Bart quite well when he was in his prime, but time marches on.
Great generation of Americans.
It’s amazing, if the think about it.
A resume that included 5 NFL Championships.
And not once did he, or anyone associated with his team, have to cheat to collect them.
... unlike the New England Cheatriots.
GREATEST QB of all time!!!

Seven Thumbs Down??? Gotta Be Brady Fans...
Classic
This man is much better then Aaron rogers
Getting old is not for the squeamish...
Do you mind if I "borrow" your quote?
The Roy Rogers of football.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Too bad the HOF got sucked up under the same umbrella as corporate. The new HOF has no character, no feeling of tradition - just big business.
Bart Starr is part of the Green Bay Family what Bart Starr is the Green Bay Family
Those are beautiful rings. I would rather have one of those than the goddi looking ones they make today.
We love Dinty Moore Beef Stew!
That ring is a symbol of 3 staight championships. Not even tom brady has that ring. No other QB has that ring.
No one will ever profit from his jewelry - how about some charity?
So conmen can scare old ladies into giving away family jewelry to charity.
It's the Starr families possessions, just on lone to the Packers, so the fans can enjoy them when they visit. A very unselfish act.
@@Wdroster that's too bad they felt unable to keep the Super Bowl ring, because of the theft
