Hundreds of tractors head to London for IHT protest

Thousands of farmers from across the UK are driving their tractors to London for a third time in four months to protest against the government’s plans to introduce a farm inheritance tax.
The protest today (10 February), organised by Save British Farming (SBF), is expected to attract significant attention and coincides with a key parliamentary debate on the issue.
The demonstration, titled “Change Your Tune, Starmer”, will see farmers converge at Whitehall from 1pm, with speeches beginning at 3:15pm.

Inheritance taxes are the best way for government to redistribute wealth, and these farmers are complaining that they get far more allowance than the rest of us, and only pay half the rate ! If those who just bought land to stash their cash were penalised, the value of farmland would plummet, taking many more farmers out of the IHT bracket anyway.
