McClain didn't choose CU to work with Travis Hunter. Coach Prime made it clear shortly after he arrived CC wasn't going to work for him. Of course he was flip out the mouth most young people are. He needed developing. Coach didn't have time he's on the clock too. McClain should try a HBCU to get an opt to play. Don't forget. Coach Prime started at a HBCU because PWIs wouldn't get him a chance as a coach. Travis and Shedur's might be the first players under Coach Prime to be drafted during the big NFL Draft next year. Stay tuned. The best to McClain. He got caught up in the Prime hype and it just didn't work out.

First of all let me say I’m born and raised in Dallas,Tx. I’m 44 so I was a teenager when the Prime time era was in full effect in our Super Bowl years here in Dallas. So I support everything Deion does. My son is at University of Texas at the moment so my take on Colorado isn’t biased. I’m a fan of Colorado bc I’m a Deion fan first. I remember when Prime started coaching high school. He did so much grass root work to make sure kids got to practice and learned the game even coming out of his own pocket for alotta expenditures. With all that said if coach prime got love for you and believes in you he’s gonna help you in every way he can. If you go watch the first well off media video where Cornani was at practice for the first time. Prime was correcting him on his technique and Cornani got in his feelings and prime asked “wait a minute, you’re not getting in your feelings are you?” And then he didn’t get his high school number #7 that got him in his feelings. And if everyone remembers coach prime never threw him under the bus the entire time the media was asking him”why isn’t Cormani starting..what’s up with Cornani” it wasn’t til like the 5-6 game til prime got tired of the questions about Cormani til he finally said “look he’s missing meetings, late to meetings, not watching film so he’s not prepared “ he challenged him publicly and when he shut down Brendan Rice after the USC game coach prime praised him publicly. Flat out he just didn’t wanna listen to prime. Travis , Shedeur, Shiloh and Cam-Silmon Craig listened and that worked out for them. Cormani is over mothered and under fathered and it shows bc he can’t take hard coaching/direction from a male figure..Talent can get you in the room but character will keep you in it.

Lets be clear!! FILM IS YOUR RÉSUMÉ
Your BIGGEST Advocate is film and your Head Coach. He burnt the bridge with a well respected HC. And the film...?
Prime tried to protect Cormani's résumé (FILM). But overzealous CU FANS and MEDIA pressured Prime, week after week, to play Cormani when he clearly was not ready. Under the pressure, Prime played him and it was not good AT ALL. Now Cormani has this bad résumé (FILM), compounded with work ethic, and character issues. No one wants to take a risk on a headache, when you can select & develop your own headache out of High School. Best of Luck to Cormani. He'll still have a shot, it just will NEVER be the same opportunity presented to him by CU.
P.S: Being the #1 CB recruit comes with HIGH EXPECTATIONS. As soon as you step on a college field all that #1 recruit talk disappears. High School is now irrelevant and 2 year old HS film isn't going to work, now. This is a "What have you done lately" association. Unfortunately, players enter the portal seeking something easier. However, the EXPECTATION never changes! The grass is RARELY greener on the other sides switching programs with little to bad film. I say this b/c coaches are willing to look pass the character issues, as majority of coaches think they have the magic formula to change a players attitude and focus. Prime could've saved this kid by NOT putting him on the field and allowing him get exposed, just to shut the media/fans up. Had that not happen, those 20 something D-1 schools would've thought Cormani is just developing considering they have a Top10 draft pick at CB already. But under the pressure, Prime played him. Which led to Cormani defending his play with excuses and ultimately throwing Prime under the bus. In return, Prime exposed all his habits. Now we know Cormani's work ethics, and we have the résumé (FILM) to confirm it. That's why he's at home.

I totally agree. I believe Coach Prime speech about you having to expire or expel some people in your life was directed at Cormani. All those people kept saying “ where’s Cornani” and “why isn’t he playing” thought they were helping Cormani but ultimately played a big part in his failure. And I suspect Cornani wasn’t being honest with them, when they asked “ why you not playing” which made them come to the internet and speed up his downfall. I wish things could have been different for the kid. It’s sad.

When you enter the portal, you are now a free agent for lack of a better term. You must sign paperwork with your previous school compliance department that you are rescinding your academic and athletic scholarship. The two are no longer tied together if a coach cuts you from the team and pulls your athletic scholarship, you can still attend the school. There are former CU players that had their athletic scholarships pulled by coach prime when he arrived but are still students at CU on the academic scholarship. That is the reason the schools have more say on the student athlete because they are on the hook for the academic scholarship. So, it’s not just a matter of if the coach wants the player. The school compliance office has a say as well because they are on the hook for the academic scholarship if that students does not volunteer to go into the portal. That is why you hear the saying “I am betting on myself” because when you enter the portal you no longer have a academic or athletic scholarship. These kids do not understand its not just about your athletic skills at this level. Don't leave your old job until you have signed the contract with your new job. Disgruntle money is still better than no money.

Similarly, it seems Cormani is struggling with entitlement issues that are hurting his football career. While there's still a chance for him to improve, it might be too late to save his college football career. He will be some where big again but the money he was bringing in won't be available to him and probably why he hasn't landed anywhere yet can't get the same bag or a bigger one to land. He literally is going to have to "work" for it. And now it's out he doesn't have the work ethic to secure the bag he once got for nothing.

What makes it bad is that he done this at Colorado, the school that has the most attention on it, there's cameras all through there, if he were at any other school, it wouldn't be a big deal, but since you went to the spotlight, now everybody knows about you.

Makes a video doing a self Q&A session from Instagram questions. I closed the video about a minute in. My first thought was, he just poured gasoline all over himself. Then set himself a blaze. Wish you the best kid, burns take a minute to heal.

Not playing for clicks is like saying you're not playing to be seen. Then what are you playing for if you're not playing to be seen? Even when that weird Oregon coach said something about not playing for clicks, it was super off. Because what are you all playing for with 100 different jerseys? Lol

Play to win. Not to be seen. If you win, you'll be seen.

It gets kind of annoying that people take his side! I do NOT wish him ill, but he gets either what he deserves or what he works for! I realized this while growing up! There are a lot of boys like him who would make you think that they're an alpha when they're less than a beta!
He doesn't want to play for clicks? So was he saying that they weren't trying to win and picked him to watch him fail and leave? Was he trying to fail because the team was trying to fail?
I took my lumps and told my own mother not to lie for me or stand up for me... I'll become a man! My father was a military man. It made me hate him and men in general! Being super strict doesn't work, but holding your child accountable does!
