In order to bounce back, sometimes you have to learn how to lose in order to win. This is all part of life. This is all part of growing up if you get out in the real world and apply for a job what you say that you are on is good enough to get you through the door once you get through the door they want to see more than just what your words are saying about you. This is the lesson that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. You don’t burn bridges because you can’t cross a burn bridge you gotta go back. You’ve got to apologize. Say you’re sorry to in order to repair the bridges. you may not go back to where you came from once you cross the bridge, but you definitely have to make an effort to try to rebuild it.

It in no way was intended to be a critic of the young adult who scientifically cannot be held to the same standard as an adult considering his brain is still developing. In the spirit of growth and my attempt to convey my opinion I will share with you the implication. By allowing his flesh and blood son to speak on his behalf, it is implied his son is speaking through him. The young man that is upset with Coach Sanders is coping with the fact his football career is over. That is a tough pill for anyone to swallow. I feel for him. He is going through a natural process and later have the ability to introspectively analyze what occurred and the people who I have coached and transitioned into successful adults as neurosurgeons, F15 Fighter Pilots, prolific educators, Army Rangers, relatively well know sports reporters etc. have used their experience in competitive sports and its inevitable end to drive decisions in their future competitive endeavors. In my humble opinion … I aim to coach young men to become adults that happened to play the sport I was coaching. I’ve had many players who couldn’t compete at the level I was coaching … I’ve had a few that played professionally. I don’t stop with anyone I coached if they openly welcome my insight. The pros never need my help in X’s and O’s and the ones whose career ended with me will likely never need to know about X’s and O’s. My biggest concern is how they do the second their shoe hits the ground as an adult. To me, them doing well in “the wild” is more important than excelling in sports and my biggest concern is their transition. This is very important to understand, I can’t tell you for certain if the environment Coach Sanders has created is toxic or not based on the known significant explanatory variables. However, the fact that this is the way Coach Sanders has allowed it to get here and to my Knowledge he hasn’t issued a statement or squashed this yet. That’s the issue I have. This is on the coach and I hope he makes it right. I hope this cleared up any confusion. I will be happy to continue the discussion with you and will be happy to hear feedback especially if you disagree with anything I said. I am open to growth and understand that I am not infallible. I clearly made the miscalculation of thinking the implication was clear which in fact it wasn’t. I apologize for that. If I was a young adult I am certain I would not have understood the implication here which makes it unfair of me to assume any young adult would.

If it’s true that Prime told him to get into the portal, then he had decided that he wasn’t good enough to play there, wasn’t going to play and he should go somewhere where he could play. I’m sure that hurt his confidence but Coach was actually doing him a favor. Sounds like the kid wanted coach to put his arm around him, telling him all kinds of sweet lies to make him feel better about the situation. When Prime treated him like a man instead of a little boy, he wasn’t ready for it. Seems like a maturity issue on his part. Coach Prime gets kids ready to face the real world and he doesn’t sugar coat it. It’s what a young man needs. Trust me at 66 years of age and after dealing with the real world after school for 45 years, you need to be tough and to be able to deal with disappointment. You will experience it many times. When you get knocked down or your confidence goes down, you need to be strong and not let it get you down. It is hard when things don’t work out the way you had hoped but it is good because you get to see where you really are in life. This kid was given the message, you are not as good as you thought. It would be better for you to try elsewhere. He didn’t want to follow Coach’s advice and he found out that Coach wasn’t kidding. He wasn’t good enough and he was not going to get on the field. Reality is a bitch but it is undefeated!
Well considering the kid was a freshman i'm sure he did have some growing up to do. This kid was a FCS All American last year so he probably could have helped Colorado's horrible pass defense.

Regardless of the case, Coach went to him and told him he’d have a better chance to play elsewhere and he should enter the portal. I’m sure he was disappointed and understandably so but I think he might have hurt his chances by doing what he did. Best to suck it up and move on. Trashing a coach and a program as you leave does not make coaches want to come knocking at your door. They may feel that if it doesn’t work out on their team he may do the same thing and no coach wants to deal with that. I’m sure he was all that playing against Presbyterian, MS Valley, Eastern Ky, Murray St., Kennesaw State etc. Coach Prime knows DB’s and he didn’t think he could handle, Oregon, Washington, USC etc.

This year’s NFL Draft-PAC 12: The conference had 43 total players drafted after failing to get more than 28 in the previous three drafts, setting a record for the conference in the seven-round era that started in 1994. The previous high was 39 Pac-12 players picked in 2015. The PAC 12 had 6 of the first 15 players taken in the first round and 8 total in the first round. The Sun Belt conference had 6 players taken and they were all taken in the 5th, 6th and 7th rounds. Comparing records only means something is the quality of players and quality of schedule is the same. Last year the PAC 12 was an A+ conference and the Sun Belt is a D grade conference at best.

Looks like he was redshirted his 1 year at CU and then transferred and played his freshman season. People transfer all the time because they got redshirted and didn’t get playing time. It in no way was intended to be a critic of the young adult who scientifically cannot be held to the same standard as an adult considering his brain is still developing.
In the spirit of growth and my attempt to convey my opinion I will share with you the implication. By allowing his flesh and blood son to speak on his behalf, it is implied his son is speaking through him. The young man that is upset with Coach Sanders is coping with the fact his football career is over.
That is a tough pill for anyone to swallow. I feel for him. He is going through a natural process and later have the ability to introspectively analyze what occurred and the people who I have coached and transitioned into successful adults as neurosurgeons, F15 Fighter Pilots, prolific educators, Army Rangers, relatively well know sports reporters etc. have used their experience in competitive sports and its inevitable end to drive decisions in their future competitive endeavors. In my humble opinion … I aim to coach young men to become adults that happened to play the sport I was coaching. I’ve had many players who couldn’t compete at the level I was coaching … I’ve had a few that played professionally. I don’t stop with anyone I coached if they openly welcome my insight. The pros never need my help in X’s and O’s and the ones whose career ended with me will likely never need to know about X’s and O’s. My biggest concern is how they do the second their shoe hits the ground as an adult. To me, them doing well in “the wild” is more important than excelling in sports and my biggest concern is their transition.
This is very important to understand, I can’t tell you for certain if the environment Coach Sanders has created is toxic or not based on the known significant explanatory variables. However, the fact that this is the way Coach Sanders has allowed it to get here and to my Knowledge he hasn’t issued a statement or squashed this yet. That’s the issue I have. This is on the coach and I hope he makes it right.
I hope this cleared up any confusion. I will be happy to continue the discussion with you and will be happy to hear feedback especially if you disagree with anything I said. I am open to growth and understand that I am not infallible. I clearly made the miscalculation of thinking the implication was clear which in fact it wasn’t. I apologize for that. If I was a young adult I am certain I would not have understood the implication here which makes it unfair of me to assume any young adult would.

When Deion came in a told those kids to hit the portal, I said it then and I’ll say it now, it was a classless act. It was not what he said but how he said it. Go back and watch the video and if you think this was an appropriate way to handle a bunch of college kids trying to live their dream, then you weren’t raised properly.
Shedeur being the quarterback of the team and saying he doesn't remember someone being dismissive like that is a bad look, it sounds entitled and the culture situation in Colorado needs to be talked about more. Almost 20 young men leave the program and all their work ethics and characters have been questioned but not the Head Coach .... We can not just give Deion a pass because we like him.

If it’s true that Prime told him to get into the portal, then he had decided that he wasn’t good enough to play there, wasn’t going to play and he should go somewhere where he could play. I’m sure that hurt his confidence but Coach was actually doing him a favor.
Sounds like the kid wanted coach to put his arm around him, telling him all kinds of sweet lies to make him feel better about the situation. When Prime treated him like a man instead of a little boy, he wasn’t ready for it. Seems like a maturity issue on his part.
Coach Prime gets kids ready to face the real world and he doesn’t sugar coat it. It’s what a young man needs. Trust me at 66 years of age and after dealing with the real world after school for 45 years, you need to be tough and to be able to deal with disappointment. You will experience it many times.
When you get knocked down or your confidence goes down, you need to be strong and not let it get you down. It is hard when things don’t work out the way you had hoped but it is good because you get to see where you really are in life. This kid was given the message, you are not as good as you thought. It would be better for you to try elsewhere. He didn’t want to follow Coach’s advice and he found out that Coach wasn’t kidding.
He wasn’t good enough and he was not going to get on the field. Reality is a bitch but it is undefeated!
Well considering the kid was a freshman i'm sure he did have some growing up to do. This kid was a FCS All American last year so he probably could have helped Colorado's horrible pass defense.
@@brettkuykendall1508 That may have been the case last year but at Colorado this year, Coach didn’t think he was going to make it or maybe he had some guys he thought was better. Regardless of the case, Coach went to him and told him he’d have a better chance to play elsewhere and he should enter the portal.
I’m sure he was disappointed and understandably so but I think he might have hurt his chances by doing what he did. Best to suck it up and move on. Trashing a coach and a program as you leave does not make coaches want to come knocking at your door. They may feel that if it doesn’t work out on their team he may do the same thing and no coach wants to deal with that.
I’m sure he was all that playing against Presbyterian, MS Valley, Eastern Ky, Murray St., Kennesaw State etc. Coach Prime knows DB’s and he didn’t think he could handle, Oregon, Washington, USC etc.

This year’s NFL Draft-PAC 12: The conference had 43 total players drafted after failing to get more than 28 in the previous three drafts, setting a record for the conference in the seven-round era that started in 1994. The previous high was 39 Pac-12 players picked in 2015. The PAC 12 had 6 of the first 15 players taken in the first round and 8 total in the first round.
The Sun Belt conference had 6 players taken and they were all taken in the 5th, 6th and 7th rounds. Comparing records only means something is the quality of players and quality of schedule is the same. Last year the PAC 12 was an A+ conference and the Sun Belt is a D grade conference at best.
