I knooooow; I miss making videos! Life in the current COVID-19 climate is proving to be quite the juggling act, with both work and home, so I've had to pull back on a few things, and unfortunately, creating new videos is one of those things. But I've hopeful I'll be back to creating soon, and your comment helps me know I'm missed! :)

i been having 2x my normal panic attacks. i almost went to the ER it was so bad. I am Terrified. Everyday i fight impending doom and that feeling of we are going to die. This virus situation has exacerbated my mental illness to the point i cant stop crying. I can't eat. I have lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. I have no one to reachout to. I have never felt so alone and so scared in my life.

I'm so torn after watching After Life because it's such a great show, but the portrayal of his therapist is so worrying. I understand the need to dramatically create something but it's possibly damaging to anyone who has never had therapy. Check it out and prepare to be frustrated 😄

Do any of you worry about trying to distinguish between real and fake when it comes to Psychology? Because, honestly there are a lot of gray areas. Whenever I read certain excerpts from manuscripts, whether from patients or psychologists or people that suggest that others should get therapy. A lot of times the things they talk about don't ring true.
Very often there are things mentioned that when evaluated closely seem based on certain criteria that only one person thinks is right.
I read a certain article about a patient getting therapy, honestly, I was extremely confused when the patient talked about it, because some things did not sound right.
I also find that therapy, especially when therapy is suggested is very often more suggested towards women, don't know if that is true. But it seems that way. That women should get therapy when something goes wrong in relationships.
I am not a person that reads the word psychology, therapist, or psychiatrist and believes everything that is done in that career field is done correctly. I have a high respect for any doctor though that does the right thing, I am just saying that we can not expect that everything that is suggested is right in the field of psychology. Similar to other areas of medicine.

Why react to good will hunting without including one of the most iconic therapist scenes in movies?that's the best part of the entire movie, and that has substance in it. Very little is happening in the clips she shows.

I guess this is probably one of the better places for me to post this, considering all of your other posts. I have already seen, online, some videos of therapists critiquing other therapists, or what they may consider misinformation or bad advice, so I hope this isn't to "inappropriate". Which leads me to....this guy (below).
After listening to 5 or 6 different online youtube therapists, this guy seems to be pretty-much a "lone voice" saying quite a few things differently, than many other therapists. And so I wonder:
Would most other therapists agree, or disagree with him? About what? Why? Any thoughts? ruclips.net/video/CG7Cfs7KhRY/видео.html

    • @dm5129
      @dm5129 Год назад

Yeah, exactly, therapists critiquing other therapists. And honestly, when I read about some cases I am not shy to speak out that some things sound odd or seem off when it comes to patient- therapist situations.
Whenever I am extremely confused about psychological measures then I know there is a reason for it. It is instinctual, instinctually knowing something just does not sound right.
And it can be very tricky, because some things are described correctly, but then something goes awry, either the method that is suggested to treat the patient, or the fact that the patient is treated as if the patient has a mental illness when it is apparent that the patient suffered mental trauma. I mean, the list just goes on and on.
Furthermore, I myself have been thrust into many life situations in which I either had to adapt or sink, bend or break, and of course my mindset was completely different during such times. In such times someone can indeed seem like a different person, they had to adapt during such times and were often influenced to lead different lives.
Honestly, a lot of psychological things sound macabre and some of them downright silly.
I have grown personally because I like to improve myself and learn new things. Of course then I am a different person than I was before, especially if the period of my life I was in before was full of stress.
Seriously, I hate so say it , but many times psychological definitions and descriptions are simply bologna.
Common sense describes life situations that can happen much differently.
I would not be afraid to tussle with a psychologist on such issues.

Finding a therapist is all about fit, and thankfully there are therapists with all different personalities, orientations, and frameworks. So while we may not be a good fit, hopefully you can find someone who is. Also, this video is a bit more playful than my usual videos, so hopefully you'll take some time to watch some of the other videos on my channel. There's lots of good info!

I’m about to see someone new for my ADHD issues. It’s created too much regret for a 35 year old lol. Anyway

I dont know what to say but you’re reactions are like a teenagers reactions. Idk if i would choose you to do therapy with because u seem a so impulsive person without a ‘deep’ way of thinking. So in first step you should speak more slowly
and you should try to see things in a deeper way. Also it seems like you’re a material person. (Its just my opinion. The video was not what i expected to be)
