RUclips finally decided to play it. Yep, a good hobby is one that makes you want to dedicate that time & even when it's hard work... it's too darn enjoyable not to do it some more! That cat is adorable, cats do that because they love to know you love them. Don't do a good deed for a reward you'll never get anything. Do it because its the right thing to do and you'll get all kinds of things later....

Good deal, thanx for the info. I like the divers belt set up, and the info on melting as you pierce through the fabric to seal it from abrasions. Double-D.
I have that 2nd bag you showed, it works great I use it on land, surf, and diving.

No problem! Started out as a 5min + video & before loading changed to a .01 second video. Other videos here are working for me. BTW - Many thanks for posting these. ALWAYS interesting! The only metal detecting I've done was with a unit I got as a kid (still have it) but I really enjoy watching you dig up history. Looks like fun! If I wasn't up to my eyeballs in model railroading it would be tempting to get another detector...

Rewatching (as I do with many of your videos) and realized that is BoiBoi. Wow. You both look good. Sorry for his passing but he couldn't have been in better hands. Love that you and Lindsay give these "misfits" a good home. I don't believe they make them any better. Thanks, Beau.

I have a friend, an ex-combat infantry officer in the Israeli Army, who told me the Israeli soldier is taught: "if it ain't broke, improve it." One shouldn't expect to have a piece of equipment fail, however one must be able to envision how it can...and what will happen if it does. You're definitely of that anticipatory mindset.
what a good ol' Boi!! ..just lost a small piece of gold the other day cuz just ONE TIME I was too lazy to bring out a good bag with me into the water. lesson learned!! north face makes an awesome waterproof lumbar pack that I use...has small removable dry bag and mesh/zip pockets...great for keeping down water weight. can be more $, but worth it in my case. excellent vid!

I admire your video and ideas, but I have to say, as a seasoned water hunter, the real deal is the mesh bag that goes on a weight belt. No need to punch holes, they are very strong and well made, and several varieties exist with various pocket configurations. Just look up "mesh bag" on the established detecting supply sites.
COOL VID...I am using the mesh bag from Kellyco now... works great underwater..drains out good $17 and change ...not too bad !!!!
I also just received my new Garrett 350 thanks to you. It came with the bag you displayed Thanks for showing how to make the drain holes. It also came with a black tool bag and a trowel. The problem I see id the trowel wants to fall out of the holders on the side.I need to put either some snaps or straps on it. By the way I went out this evening just to play with it. I got readings where I never got them before. It was cloudy and getting dark so I had a hard time reading the gages. I did make my first find, a 2 1/2 " bolt wit a washer on it. It is very rusted.

Great idea's Beau. Since I just started detecting today, I'm using whatever I have on hand for now. It's a ammo satchel from when I was a reservist. I will upgrade as I go & you've given me great idea's.

Beau, you should check out the Maxpedition Rollypoly folding dump pouch (medium). It's fantastic and built amazingly well. It even has a drain hole grommet. I've been using mine for years. HH
Your cat wants to be famous I guess, you should do a video with him in is. Perhaps he is good at helping you find nice things! For land hunting I was thinking of using a militairy belt, easy to put on more pockets, flashlight etc. Plus it wont pull down your pants if it gets to heavy.
Do you take in all misfits? I'm sure there's a waiting list! Boy is a handsome guy!

The cat clearly loves you, as i am sure off camera you spoil and fuss him. As for goodie bags....Just use chest waders and drop the goodies down your front :D
