The fritters were great! Chicken curry could have been better, due to my cheap curry powder. Will doctor tomorrow with curry from Caribbean store. It was still good though. Thanks for sharing.
So funny when you were cleaning and cutting the meat. I was thinking the same thing you said. Some people are probably disgusted by it lol. I'm Haitian and Jamaican, and we eat meat, but sometimes we take a break for like a week .
My daughter wants to eat more fish or meatless meals.

I LOVVVEEE Grapenut ice cream! It was my grandfathers fave and living in Brooklyn as a kid, they would have it in the chicken spots...damn what a time lol. They used to have it on ice cream trucks in Flatbush too, truly a classic. I never thought about making it lol

Loved this long vlog and all the cooking!! Also Octavia, I used to hate yogurt and what I used to do is add a tiny bit of stevia or some kind of sweetener and it makes it taste a bit better (the texture and the tanginess). Now I love yogurt on its own!
That’s a great idea because what I don’t like about yogurt is the tangy at the end? I don’t like tangy anything so the granola does help to mask , but I will try the Stevia.

Wagwan Octavia! You must come to the North East Bronx where I live for grapenut ice cream. They're many West Indian markets that sell it, not only that, all kinds of fish parrot, porgie, snapper, etc.. Pig tail, pig ears, makrel. You will have a field day. I shop at the famous SY Grace West Indian supermarket on Boston Road.
Oh you are so lucky. I definitely should make a trip.

I love grapenut ice cream. I haven’t had it since i was like 15/16. I’m 28 now. I think I’m going to try and make it.
I left Jamaica at that age so when I moved luckily I was able to find Jamaican grocery near me but they’ve been out of grapenut for months 🥹

I love this idea of making your own Jamaican grape but ice cream. Im wondering if warmer in up the grape nut in the microwave would give it that soft texture you were going for. Im gonna try making this at home.

That is exactly how I make my icecream with the post cereal without soaking it though. I don't live in the area where I can get my fav so I had to improvise
Hmm I do prefer it soaked for the taste taste, but in appearance, I do prefer the unsoaked version
