@ Kyle Hyde Fun idea to headcanon and perfectly find to do so. However I don't think it will ever officially get altered. What I think would be good to do is instead of Leia thinking Sabe was her mother would be her memories would come from stories Sabe told her about her real mother.
I need more of Luke and Leia finding things out about their parents. Them meeting people who knew them is just a heartwarming thought. In Battlefront II the best part of the campaign was when Leia is on Naboo ignorant of how special that world is, she simply wants to free it but never knows it's significance
This book was so good! The conversation between Padme and Breha got me right in the feels, and that ending left me wanting more! I need to know what Bail said to Sabe!
I wanted to know all the new canon updates with this book but I wasn't too keen on buying a Padme novel so ty dude for these videos. Super helpful as always
That's kinda cool about the Whitesun symbol, perhaps the Whitesuns were liberating slaves and Beru knew where to go to save them because Shmi was helping them. I'm very intrigued by this book glad that Padme is getting the love she deserves, I hope the Age of Republic comic with her in it is as good.
@Star Wars Explained Hey Alex one thing that I think might be a fun idea for a video sometime in the future is to do a video about all the Handmaiden's from both canon and legends. What their duties as Handmaiden was and how their story may have differed between the two continuities. And which ones may have been in one continuity but not the other.
**TIP FOR NEW AUDIBLE USERS**: If you have a friend who has audible and wants to listen to this book (or if you use your credit on another book then whichever you pick) you can send it to them with the "send a book feature". If they havent accepted a book before then they get it for free. You can then have them send you a book from their library in the same way and you would also get it for free. This will essentially let you get 2 free books to try out the service and honestly I just think its a really awesome feature that alot of people dont seem to know about
While the Lorridians were already canon (well a species going by that name. We dont know if they are like their Legends counterparts yet) their was a mention of their ability to read body language.
“This shows that the Separatist plot took place 5 or 6 years before Attack of the Clones.” Naturally!! Separatist sentiments don’t just spring up in a year or two. It often has to take a history or generation of misrepresentation. The taxation of free trade systems, as boring as that sounds, was the first domino to fall towards the Star Wars stories of rebellion we all know and love.
If anyone is like me and struggles with remembering names, this book was kinda a nightmare. Theres like 10 characters with similar sounding names that are padmes handmaidens. I kept having to look them up while reading to remember who was who.
That was Corde. She's the one who said "I failed you Senator." and died in the explosion. I've seen the film enough times to remember Padme's running to her and saying her name. Dorme was on the bus when Padme and Anakin were sent back to Naboo. She feared for the Senators life but chose to stay behind to make it look like the Senator was still on Coruscant. I remember her because the outfit she wore at the time makes her look so much older than Padme.
3:14 they had no romantic relationship they were colleagues. Rush only kissed her once and she pushed him away and told him they were nothing more than colleagues
I want to get into the novels more. I've pretty much just kept up with the stories but never actually experienced them myself. I'm hesitant to get into this book, though, because I HATE Clovis with an absolute passion. I cheered when Anakin went to town on him in TCW S6 and even more when he died so seeing him as a prominant character and as a love interest for Padmé tbh actually makes me feel nauseous lol. But on the other hand, I love Padmé's character and the prequel era and I'd like to experience more of both but ngl I'm torn😂
I personally like Clovis. Padme doesn't care much for him in this book so it should be fine for you. I personally think this is a better starting book than Thrawn
What if, in that young leia streaming show we’re supposed to be getting, if Sabe showed up as a guidance figure for Leia. If Kiera Knightly were to reclaim the role, that would be fantastic for both the character and the fandom, mind blowing really. That would be awesome...
Could work. However if they wanted to make everything match up Sabe would probably have to be gone prior to Leia reaching her mid teens since she is that old in the Leia novel and there is no mention of a Sabe character or a character like her as far as I know. I think a streaming service show where Sabe would fit better into would be a show focused on Bail Organa instead of Leia. As Sabe would probably fit better in a story set when Leia was say between 5-10 than it would say in a story where Leia was 15.
In Star Wars explained, he mentions that Dooku was the overheard conversation. However I disagree, the music that was playing in the audiobook was specifically from the opera house in Star Wars episode one were Darth plagues us the wise was mentioned specifically and that music is also played in Star Wars episode seven where Snoke is speaking. I really do think there is a Darth plagues us connection in this series and they just have not revealed it yet.
In star wars 62, when the shapeshifter says to Han that "there's more to acting that a mere likeness", do you think it's a refenrece to Alden Ehrenreich?
Now that Queen’s Shadow is out I have a question: Thrawn Alliances briefly introduced us to Duja, another handmaiden who served Padmé. I don’t think any characters in Star Wars are throwaway characters and was expecting Queen’s Shadow to introduce her and add some weight to her death in Alliances. Since it didn’t, I’m kinda disappointed. So just who is Duja?
Hard to say. I don't think Duja has much background and I think it was a character created specifically for the Thrawn Alliances book. Would have been nice for Duja to be included to some degree in Queen's Shadow but it still easily fits as Queen's Shadow basically all took place about 28-27 BBY while Thrawn Alliances took place probably 21-20 BBY. So there is a good six or seven years for Duja to enter into the story. As far as who Duja was basically whatever was said about her in Thrawn Alliances is all there is since I believe it is the only thing she has appeared in. Edit......thought of a good way to fit Duja in there. A couple of Padme's handmaiden's died in AOTC so she would have been in need of getting a couple new ones. By the way the Wook has Duja dying in 19BBY.
God, this new canon content is so boring. What exactly did it add? I love your highlights videos but I just can't see anything interesting about these books. They're re-doing things that weren't that interesting to begin with. Did it add anything to the Royal House lore? Or to the Gungan lore?

What if the memories Leia has of her mother in Episode VI are actually of Sabe
After all, she was her mother's double
Thought the same thing.
That is my new canon for that. Just like that Rex was at Endor.
@@wingfreedom21 Rex being at Endor was confirmed in the "Rebels" finale.

I like that Padme tried to find Shmi through Sabe.
Would like if Sabe was added more to canon with Leia.
Although, I wonder why she wasn't able to find Watto when Anakin managed it so easily.
@@Compucles perhaps Watto was hiding from creditors
@@emileraikin9442 seems likely by the time of AOTC, Watto seems to have nothing left.

Sabe meets both Luke and Leia at the end of the 2020 DV comic series
I like how Padmé foreshadowed all the problems Mon Mothma would create after Episode VI and also the irony of her role in Rogue One
This book was so good! The conversation between Padme and Breha got me right in the feels, and that ending left me wanting more! I need to know what Bail said to Sabe!

I knew Corde and Dorme, but most of TPM handmaidens are just background characters and easy to forget.
I can understand that. Who was one who was killed at the beginning of "Attack of the Clones" again?
That was Corde. She's the one who said "I failed you Senator." and died in the explosion.

It's not complicated...
Sabé, Yané, Eirtaé, Saché, Rabé; Five Amidala's handmaids.
Dormé, Cordé, Versé; Three Padmé's new cohort as Senator.
Love these slightly longer videos!

Perfect! Put the one who has a life debt (and is not the smartest) so the humans can tell him what to do and Gungans get no say!
Wouldn't the life debt have expired with Qui-Gon's death?
