I have the ability to add a DRO in my quill (I have a anilam z quill ball screw setup) can I use the DRO to help the controller know exactly where the quill is? I’m having issues getting my quill accurate.
You could use the dro to map the ballscrews movements but as far as hooking it up to the acorn no. It does not have any inputs for scales, centroids bigger and way more expensive controllers you can add feedback to.
0:51 6400 step rev. 5mm lead 6400/5mm =1280 step mm. its so easy its EXACT number. motor turn 0.2/mm *25.4 = 5.08 rev/inc. math say its EXACT 5.08. use it. its not 5.07???????.your hig priced measure suck.if not happy USE mm when you have mm ballskew it will EXACT and mm is more acurate based on 0.001mm and 0.0001inch display. 0.001mm equal 0.0000393inch. so using MM you have more acurate display. you cant even see last digit move.when you move 0.0001inch its 0.00254mm. get it and 1 step in your setup is 0.00078125mm = 0.00003075inch. you need 4 step to see last digit change. i need 2 step. get it yet xD even you will see change in 2 step, but its allready rounded up
Dude, if its so easy make your own video about it. The cheap ball screws i had in the machine needed to be comp regardless, I use inch display cause thats what I work in. But enjoy shitting on my videos by all means if it makes you feel better.
Awesome. Doing this tomorrow on my X2.

Your swaying constantly back and forth makes one "sea-sick". And it distracts from an otherwise good video.
For whatever it's worth.
