Honestly, your videos deserve much more traffic and likes. I'm an old guy who played the original A&A back in the 1980's. Anyway, when did they go cheap and not include the styrofoam piece holders in A&A games? Sure, those had scatter and mix issues (like when you accidentally drop the box--or move it a few inches), but the BYOB (Bring Your Own Bags) thing seems kind of cut-rate.

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but if you're asking if a penny will fit in the circle inside the chips (where the infantry base would sit), the answer is no. The circle is about 20% smaller than a US penny (best guess without having either of them in front of me). Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
The Spin Off game Axis & Allies & Zombies includes an expansion to this game. It is a deck of cards that ports over the Zombie mechanics into 1942 2ndE. It is actually super fun to play this method but you need to buy both games in order to get to play this hidden version of the game.

I love your channel! Might go for the 2nd edition soon. I do have a question for the first edition since an old friend and I that used to play back in the 90s, hooked up and are playing again. My question is If a lone sub attacks a lone ship and hits on the first roll thus taking the sea zone without a counter strike. Does the sub still have it's withdraw option or does it have to take the sea zone? Thank you so much for all your insight!
Thanks for watching and for your kind words! 1942.2 is a great game! Sounds like you have been playing the Classic from 1984. Also a lot of fun! To your question, there are a few things here. First, if the sub entered a sea zone to do combat and a round ended with no defending units remaining, all attacking unit must remain in the sea zone. The "submerge" ability can only be used to avoid another round of combat. The sub would stay in the zone, but leave combat. Second, just to be clear, the Submerge ability doesn't cause the sub to leave the sea zone. It stays were it is, but is removed from the remainder of the battle. The sub could only leave the sea zone if all of the units in the attack retreated. Then, they would all have to go to the same sea zone and it would have to be somewhere that at least one of them came from. (Air units can still go wherever their fuel will take them.) Lastly, no one every owns/controls a sea zone. They are either friendly or hostile and that can depend on a number of favors. I hope all this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions! If you haven't already, please take a moment and subscribe to the channel. We have lots more coming for Axis and Allies!
I have both 1940 Europe and Pacific. I believe they combined have enough pieces to play the 1942 (or 1941 for that sake). It would be nice to have the 1942 (and 1941) board to have those options too.
