Elixir is king. It's odd how vastly different a 1 elixir card or even a 2 elixir card will perform in comparison to a 4 elixir card. Name the best 4 elixir card in the game, and many players can counter it with ice spirit and skeletons. Weird that. There are canyons of imbalance between 1, 2, 3, 4, and higher elixir costed cards and never mind the great disparity within specific values. Then there is the joke of rarities in this game, where some cards, like champions, the supposed rarest of rare cards, are unutterably outclassed by cards of lesser rarity. Clash Royale is a game in dysphoric identity crisis.

@ Yes, and I hate that it's both dead, and they're being unreasonable greed pigs about it. They should just try balancing it for once and see what it does to their revenue and growth. I believe they'd be wildly surprised.
