Sly couldn't tell his ancestors about Clockwerk as it might change future events (more than they already are) to the point Sly himself would change as a result, especially important considering Sly's origin story is directly tied to Clockwerk's previous successes against his ancestors.
I did think Paradox not turning out to be Clockwerk was a missed opportunity as Paradox's origin story is basically Clockwerk's. He was butthurt that the Coopers were better than him and tried to ruin them as revenge. It would've been neat if as a result of fighting Sly and the destruction of the blimp that Paradox might be fling into the past like Sly was but was injured and made some cybernetic modifications to repair himself using whatever he could find. Having failed to simple ruin the Coopers he aspired to simply killing them and over time performs more cybernetic upgrades to himself until he resembles the giant mechanical owl we know as Clockwerk. The idea of Clockwerk originally being an owl was guesswork by the Coopers over the years and I think the idea of Sly being the cause of his own rise as a thief and cause of his ancestors demise would add more nuance to his character and origin story.

I know this is a bit of a trivial nitpick to some, but I really wished that they wrote the whole amnesia plot a bit better; like, they could have implied that both Carmelita and Sly came to a mutual agreement that his memory loss was bullshit, so they kept it as a coverup for their own little secret so they could be together.
Then again, Carmelita is the same character who couldn't recognize Sly in the second mission from Sly 2 just cos he took off his hat and wore half a tuxedo to a ballroom dance, sooo yeah.
TLDR Thieves in Time was kind of a sinking ship that took a physical assault on my OTP.

I have a few things I'd like to bring up about this game. A few theories it created I guess that I have thought a lot about and need to share somewhere. Don't know if anyone will care or read this but I still feel the need to get out my thoughts.
First is if the games really end with Sly being stuck in Egypt what are the odds that Sly is actually his own ancestor that started the cooper thieving line to begin with? That he is Slytunkhamen. This isn't counting people like Bob for instance who was not intelligent enough to start any legacy or plans. But if Sly ended up stranded and needed to start a new life there...could be. It would explain the 'Sly' at the start of the name. Also if I am not mistaken aside from Bob, Slytunkhamen is the furthest back we have seen.
Now an interesting prospect evil Penelope creates this: We can see clockwork in the back pictures in Slytunkhamen's entries so that means Clockwork goes back that far. In those past times how did he turn himself into a robot to start with? They didn't have the tech, however with Penelope's genius, time travel and new hatred for Sly it could be argued that she went back and helped Clockwork become a robot to start with.
Also I don't think Clockwork managed to kill any of them, like you said. I think the line we are seeing in Sly Cooper is Sly's direct family line and if they had all died he wouldn't have been born. They all had to survive long enough to have kids at least. And if clockwork killed them, he continued to be unable to kill their kids over and over. What I think is more likely is that Sly's line wasn't the only cooper line. After all, are we saying none of the coopers ever had more than one kid? Is it some rule to only have the one? I think Clockwork is the reason we only got Sly left in the cooper family now. He failed at killing the one line but may have others.
And lastly not really a theory but I would love if a game went more into Clockwork. All we know about him is he was so jealous of the Coopers that he made himself into a robot so he could hunt them to extinction. Why though? Why so jealous? It would be interesting to later learn If Clockwork had more of a reason to hate them than we originally knew. Something the cooper family didn't pass down for unsavory reasons. It just seems so small a thing to got to such great lengths. I'd be into more of his story.
I know some holes here or there but still fun to think about

To be honest, I did like Thieves in Time, but they could improve greatly. Thw prehistoric level, but I strongly expressed that it needs the most improvement. The story of the gang being sent to prehistoric Australia then finding the Grizz by sheer luck was weak. Also we don't see a clan of cave raccoons and the story of Bob's capture was also weak, even just giving him a bland name like, Bob, didn't sit too well. Carmelita was also a big issue. Not only her design, but her gameplay. You can megajump right off the bat and what happened to her megakick? One you ability you have to buy, the other is completely removed, she's one of the BEST characters in the series.

Very True man, well structured I can agree that the Prehistoric Ice Age Chapter needed more polish, especially the whole thing with Bob and yeah Carmilita Fox was dragged in the mud in Thieves in Time a bit more than needed, I can agree with that.

Honestly, something I didn't like is about the ancestors being kinda watered down down in Thieves in time compared to how they were referenced in the previous games. And this isn't in Sly's imagination where he has a skewed view of them, these are written accounts of a lineage of thieves who are masters of their skill and develop new ways of thievery each time... THEY HAVE A VAULT BUILT WITH SPECIFIC BOOBY TRAPS BASED ON EACH ANCESTOR.
The villains weren't all that memorable in Sly 4 either aside from that one villain who is a huge spoiler. They don't seem all that intimidating to me, take for example, El Jefe who is the first villain in Sly 4 and the first boss.. He's presented as a tactical genius who was a mercenary commander who was able to conquer smaller weaker countries then sell them to the highest bidder. That's a good backstory, but you don't see that play into anything when we actually come across him instead he has a giant statue of himself and that's the big plot point he's centered around along with locking up Ryoichi Cooper for allegedly poisoning the Shogun with bad sushi.
Meanwhile you have Rajan in Sly 2 who became a rich and powerful lord for creating and selling illegal spices or Don Octavio who pumps tar into the waters of Venice and sink buildings for anyone who didn't come to opera recital. Sure, there are some villains in the past where it kinda stretches the imagination like Sir Raleigh having a weather machine that creates powerful storms to sink ships or whenever Dark/Black Magic was involved, but there was still the underlying tone of intimidation that these were legit villains.
This isn't a bad game, but it lacks impact that the previous ones had or that was too afraid to actually have some dark undertones involved.

Sly already has a strong ancestor (Sleigh McCooper) without having to create a whole new character. The first Cooper should have been something amazing to witness, like watching the story of the first Avatar in Korra... but we didn't NEED to see the first Cooper. Not if he's going to be a bad character and take 1/5 of the screen time.

  • @CooperGal24

As much as I loved the Sly Cooper Trilogy, the Thieves in Time just wasn't cutting it.
I'll give it props though. The gameplay was fun, the animation and voice acting were top notch, missions were replayable, the music was nice, they brought back the Clue Bottles, Carmelita became a playable character instead of just once in a while, the levels were beautiful, Mini/Side Missions were fun and the arcade gameplay was worth playing again.
    The Cons though...
The storyline was a huge mess up, the characters were written so poorly, Penelope was made as a villain with THE worst excuse of WHY she became a villain, the main boss looked and felt more like this sidekick minion to a bigger boss than ClockWerk and Dr.M, we got a cliffhanger that's STILL left unanswered a decade later, no DLCs for the game episode wise, characters that were in the Sly 3 game were not brought back (Exception for Dimitir and Penelope) or made playable...
I'd play the game again, but not on certain levels, like Penelope's Boss Fight. (After I beat it I mean.)
The game felt as though the writers at Sanzaru tried TOO hard and just made it a completely different alternate Sly game that nobody liked.
Like, with the Spyro and Crash games, at LEAST the storylines made sense, the characters weren't written poorly and the gameplay was worth playing the game again.
The writers for TiT, just didn't put the thought, love and care into this game like the writers at Sucker Punch had. I guess that's why everyone loved the trilogy, but most fans just didn't liked TiT game.
Also, the fans that has theories that "Penelope became a bad guy after listening in on Dr.M's conversation with Sly's friends, became bad because of doubts, blah blah blah!" They MIGHT be on the right track, but some theories aren't flying by.
My theory, is that Penelope could've had a twin sibling (As an example), who got bitter and jealous of Penelope and her overall achievements and accomplishments. So bitter and jealous, that she decides to work for Le Paradox and use her sister to build the time machine, maybe even going so far as to blackmail Penny to build it, or she'd hunt down Bentley and threaten his life.

Technically speaking, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric was done by Big Red Button. Sanzaru handled the 3DS Sonic Boom games. Which, they tried fixing the problems Shattered Crystal had, with Fire & Ice.

I'll just say again that Sanzaru made the Sonic Boom games on 3DS, not Rise of Lyric. As for Spyro 3, I can only imagine they were brought on board because some higher ups wanted to put the game out that holiday, and one team just wasn't enough in such a short window of time.

Hmm, I'd say my thoughts on this game are just about the same as yours. I throughly enjoyed playing as Rioichi Cooper and especially Tennesse 'Kid' Cooper, liked the idea of Caveman 'Bob' Cooper being the oldest ancestor and ever time Cyrille Le Paradox opened his mouth I find it difficult to hide a smile plus Miss Decibel was pretty amusing too. Other than that I agree with just about all your other points especially about Bob, Sir Galleth Cooper and Salim al-Kupar not being as unique as the other two ancestors and I too am disappointed the this game ended where it did with nothing to follow.

Just because he does not like the ancestors doesnt mean its uncreative and boring through the whole chapter. Also you just play as each of them for like 30 min each. Go cry about it. It still has great bossfights and good mission design.

I loved Rioichi, Tennessee, and Galleth.... but holy shit did the game get so sloppy as it got closer towards the ending... ESPECIALLY with the ending. On a scale of 1 to 10... I'd give it a 6/10.

I pretty much agree perfectly. The game started off extremely good, but around the half way point of chapter 3, the game just runs out of steam pretty fast for me...
I agree that making Bob, Galeth, and Salem all having more unique functions would be really nice. Imagine Galeth having more unique combat functions to tie in with his more brash and reckless nature, while not being nearly as good at sneaking around and such. Or Salem's carpet not losing height over time, and functioning as a straight line glide so he could reach places Sly couldn't

    I like Sly Cooper 4.
But I know that the direction it took was not the best one.
I still can't get over Penelope's betraysl. That was the part where I finally said: "GOD DAMN IT THAT'S IT!"
And the secret ending OH! I was like:
    "...WHAT?! IS THAT ALL?!"
I mean, I really enjoyed Sly 4, the story was really interesting and had it's great points during the pace of it, like the fact that Sly tried to apologize with Carmelita but she didn't listening to him after his facade.
    Or him meeting his ancestors.
The time travel thing was something risky, when it comes to it, it must exist a consistence in the story and how the time travel works in that universe to make sense.
At the end, I liked the game, and still hoping Sly make his comeback one day.

  • @tabreezsiddique
    @tabreezsiddique 3 года назад +4

As for my take on the game, as long as we're around offering opinions on it, might as well throw in my two cents into the mix.
The game is OK, not a completely bad game for sure as it does show a whole ton of promise as a direct follow up on the original trilogy as far as Gameplay goes. Sticking with what the last two games were going for wasn't a completely bad approach for sure and I do appreciate the effort they made in trying to add more to what was already there like an expanded hideout, special abilities with each costume for Sly and having the much talked about ancestors from the previous games become playable themselves, that alongside the in-game graphics are all I can appreciate for sure as well some jobs here and there. The problem comes from being inconsistent with the many choices they made, with each good to come, there's always a bad to go along with them. Whilst I like the in-game graphics and the mostly stable 60 FPS, the animated cutscenes just completely miss the point of what they were going with in the previous games' ones. Having an expanded hideout, whilst it is a pretty dope, just adds to the loading screens' length in between going in and out, especially thanks in part to the ping pong table that serves literally no purpose. Whilst I like the return of treasures as well as how all of them add to another reward, the amount of coins you get from them doesn't make it worth getting over pickpocketing and the clue bottles should've just stayed where they were in past games(for those wondering, I liked these in the 1st game's linear levels, not so much in the 2nd game's open hub worlds so yeah). Whilst Sly himself controls fine enough in this game(for better or for worse) Bentley and Murray don't have as much mobility as they did in the 3rd game which isn't helped much by the expanded size of the hubs themselves, not that it matters anyways as you hardly play as them that much in the game. Whilst the ancestors being playable is a great idea, they all control basically the exact same way as Sly just with a new move to go along with them, Caveman Cooper being the only real standout and not even for any of the good reasons. As for the jobs themselves; I will be fair and say there were definitely jobs I never liked much in the previous games, TNT barrels, turret sections and a lot of other vehicles here and there with a few exceptions, but in this game; I can only really say I liked about 21 (give or take) out of all 42 jobs/heists in this game and that includes stuff that's fresh and has to do with the core Gameplay or is just stuff I would be doing in past games, with only a few standout jobs that actually got my mind racing in a great way which sucks.
So yeah, overall the Gameplay and presentation was a hit and miss for me but maybe I would've considered this a good game if the story was good, and unfortunately the less said about that the better.

I hate the twist in the medieval level. They even had another villain who was a hypnotist, and didn’t do anything with that. Trying to break the mind control might have made an interesting side plot, but no. No, she is actually part of team bad guy of her own free will. I call bs.

  • @samflood5631
    @samflood5631 Год назад +2

What about Penelope being the Black Knight as well as being in liege with Le Paradox (worst sly Cooper villain in my opinion)? That was total character assassination on her part. If you played the third game, Penelope had a crush on Sly in the China level but when she realized that Bentley had feelings for her in the Pirate level, she ended up with the turtle because they both had a lot in common, such as being smart, good at tech and help getting the Cooper Gang out of sticky situations. But due to the logic of the fourth game, Penelope hates Sly because she feels like he's getting in the way of her relationship with Bentley and wants to kill him by siding with a Skunk Art Thief, who just let her get arrested and took all of the credit for stealing Sir Gallath's Lance when she did all of the hard work herself.
I would like to say that Le Paradox is the worst part of this game as well as the worst villain in the Sly Cooper series. He wants to get revenge for his family because they were overshadowed by the Cooper Clan, which was Clockwerk's backstory. He also wants to kill Sly because his dad got his dad sent to jail for trying for stealing the prized Ruby, even though Le Paradox's dad was gloating that he was going to frame Conner for the Ruby Theft. Le Paradox just sat on his ass in his fancy blimp while his time traveling lieutenants stole the canes from Riorichi, Tennessee Kid, Bob, Sir Gallath and Salim Al Kupar. And when his lieutenants gave him the canes, Le Paradox just leaves them to get arrested and take all of their credit for stealing the canes from the Cooper Clan. There's also the whole making fact documents that established his family as royalty which is both stupid and nonsensical, why would he be interested in being King or Emperor when his main goal is to wipe the Cooper Clan for overshadowing his family.

Not to mention, the long abandoned SIXAXIS controls were used for this game for some reason, despite it being the end of the life cycle for the PS3, which made this game unplayable with a third party controller. This forced me to go out and buy an official DualShock 3, which proved to be easier said than done smh At least for a decent price anyway. I thought the story was garbage, and Le Paradox (awful name for a villain in a TIME TRAVEL GAME!) Was a bottom of the barrel Saturday morning cartoon villain.
Clockwork said in Sly 1 "You Coopers ALWAYS find a way to beat me." I don't think he killed any of Sly's ancestors before his parents, but he did face them all and get defeated by them all. What if someone went back in time to create Clockwork (how else would a robot cyborg bird exist in 3000 B.C.?) And Sly goes back in time to help all his ancestors defeat Clockwork.

I actually like Thieves in Time tbh. I will admit that there are some issues, such as how some gameplay elements felt more tacked on than others like the sabertooth costume. Rioichi is my favorite ancestor and I enjoyed Tennessee and Galleth. I can’t say I remembered the remaining two that much though. That being said, probably the gripe I have with the game the most is the plot and how it portrayed some of its characters.

Personally for me, Sly 4 is a great game- one of my favouritesin the series in fact. I didn't even mind TOO much the plot twist in episode 4 (which I saw coming a mile off BTW, when I saw the name Black Knight). Though I think it's a shame it happened, it wasn't exactly completely out of character for Penelope. They met her on a shady online chat room for a start, and she had already proven in her episode in Sly 3 that she was willing to play dirty to win the ACES competition. Maybe she thought joining the Cooper gang would set her up for a lifetime of getting riches, and was secretly disappointed when they disbanded. Don't get me wrong though, I was hoping deep down that by the end of Sly 4 it had turned out she'd just been hypnotised or something

So I know this is a Sly Cooper video but I have a theory about Crash 4. So in the original leak image (the one where Toys for Bob was doing a charity thing and the crash 4 designs got leaked.) I noticed the N. Trophy looked very different in his costume. I also noticed in the opening cutscene of Crash 4 inside the machine N. Trophy was using there was some device thing that looked like N. Trophy's helmet in the scrapped concept art. So I was thinking, maybe N. Trophy had a scrapped phase where he would enter that costume and fight us.

I honestly have to say, I think the disguise system is why the ancestors feel so...blah near the end. Those additions, fun as they were, meant that they needed 2 unique abilities in every time period, one for general use, and one for situational, and because of that, they tended to make the general use one the more fun one to play with, so they could design the bosses around it.
As a good for instance, what if Salim could slow time. His sections would be far more interesting, especially designing it around that, but then you wouldn't have Sly able to use it. Or Bob? What if HE were the one able to super pounce and jump between enemies, smashing into them, but needing a bigger target, like Roichi's power, but more beastial. Then for Gallant, what if his lance doubled as a longbow, and you could stop to fire arrows, switching between a few elements Legend of Zelda style? With the Rope arrows being for certain parts, but able to do fire, ice, and later lightning thanks to a Bently Upgrade?
But no, they wanted the ability to use those more generally, and Sly is the lead, so he had to have the cooler powers. Invincible suit of Armor, rolling ball that is good for straight aways and slopes, vs Super Jumping and Shooting are less dire, and more giving the otherwise light Sly weight, which allowed for interesting mixes.
Anyway, that's just some random thoughts on it.

    Before video:
In my opinion the prologue and chapter 1 is understandable, they haven’t been in the field for a while so they’re rusty and as such do some stuff they wouldn’t have in previous games.
Chapter 2: this is where they were supposed to pull up their none existent pants and start to get serious but lollipop.
Chapter 3: they really should’ve not had a time travel opponent here, instead they should’ve had it be a local that had some of the pieces they’d need to get back and Bob seeing Sly’s cane could’ve lead up him making his own as the final mission comes.
Chapter 4: complete and total failure.
Chapter 5: this should’ve been a much earlier chapter in my opinion possibly even the second chapter as it would much earlier set up time paradox explanations and could’ve helped the tone much better further down the line.

I will say I actively enjoyed the world building of the game. I liked Rioichi and Tennessee, with the latter being my favorite. Sir Galleth being voiced by Yuri Lowenthal was a treat and I found him quite entertaining. Bob and Salim were just kinda there for me, with Bob being...borderline pointless. Like, we didn't gain anything from his level, his level felt like it was kinda thrown there in the last minute. Cause as much as I didn't care for Grizz, he could have also worked in an Egyptian level like what they hinted at the end, compared to cave art etc.
But I think the hugest turn off of the game for me was story and characters. Like our core characters...I guess lacked their usual charm? 1-3 I loved Carmelita, she was insufferable in this game. Sly was annoying and for a guy who had the utmost respect for his ancestors in the previous games, it was kinda not present here at all. But that could be more of a "don't meet your heroes" thing. Murray and Bentley borderline regressed/went through the same character development they already had to a degree? And then there's the biggest plot hole with Penelope???? (despite me actually enjoying the theories that come from this plot twist) Given that...at the end of 3, Sly basically left them with the loot in the vault. So her motivations were extremely sketchy to me. And the fact it ended on a cliffhanger with them having no intentions to continue it just kinda made it all the worse for me, cause now no clarification. I dunno, maybe it's just me but the core characters felt super off in this game and it makes it hard for me to do the story half the time, despite how much I enjoy the game play.

The games story is most likely what everyone focuses on whenever Sly 4 is brought up. Mainly the inclusion of Bob, Penelope's arc, & of course the cliffhanger ending being the primary points of criticism. And I actually don't mind all of that...except the cliffhanger ending, that shouldn't have even happened to begin with.

Two of the abilities sly can eventually purchase in these in time are kind of interesting, because one of them Rioichi Cooper also has even though not a lot of people realize it and one of them Tennessee kid Cooper should’ve had but for some reason didn’t. As you play through the game one of the abilities you can eventually buy for sly is called stealth run, Or silent sprint or something like that, but anyway this ability allows sly to sprint past guards without getting detected like he normally would without it.Rioichi Cooper has this ability by default. At a different point in the game and ability for sly becomes available to purchase called rail sprint or something like that, and it always confused me as to why Tennessee kid Cooper couldn’t do that by default. Especially considering Rioichi Cooper’s special ability is an extension of the ninja spire landing which he invented. So then wouldn’t it make sense for the character who invented the rail walk and rail slide to also have an ability by default that’s a slight upgrade to that such as the rail run or rail sprinter or whatever it’s called. Tennessee kid Cooper is a cool character one of the few characters in the entire franchise Who is a hero and carries a gun. The gunslinging being the main focus of Tennessee’s move set is definitely the right choice, but Rioichi gets both A unique upgrade to the ability he invented and I guess just because he’s a “ninja"his Sprint by default is also the stealth version.

I talked about sly 4 so much I don't want to anymore, in detail anyway. To sum it up, I hated
The new style that looked like a modern, cheap kid show made in flash and sly was more childish instead of the cool mischievous dude.
The music sounded cheap as well, but that is to be expected with this style.
The gadgets disappeared, making the series take a solid step back.
What the fuck did they do to penelope and bentley!? I guess bentley hasn't suffered enough
It ran like dog water on the ps3 because it was clearly made for the vita, but they ported it to ps3 just for sony to boast about the cross play/save capability of vita.
Overall plot was meh. I mean comeon
Sly 1- sly wants revenge for his parents death and recover thievious raccoonue
Sly 2- sly wants to stop the assembly of sly parents killer
Sly 3- sly wants to claim his heritage and go down memory lane seeking the fleeing memory of his ancestors, but mainly dad.
Sly 4- once again, thievious raccoonus, but time travel and 4 more sly coopers but different and one bob. Why? Because once again, sly's dad made enemies and sly takes shit for it.. AGAIN!
It was 8 years after the relase of sly 3, there was time to develop something truly amazing, nope. They pulled an ubisoft (when it comes to tom clancy stuff) and flushed it down the shitter.

And we've seen Bentley & Penelope collected all of it and build a new Cooper vault at their hideout. If you remember at the end of Sly 3's Ending Cutscene. The thing that finally made me trade it in was one of clue bottles (or the equivalent i seem to remember they are slightly different) on bobs level was glitchy, it was in one of the mini games you play as Bentley. How did you manage to not even touch on the WORST aspect. . . the costumes. If there's one thing the game messed up, it's the lesser move-set. Both the lacking theifnet abilities as well as sly's default abilities. They just don't stack up to what sly can do in 2 and 3. The costumes examplify this. An ability shouldn't be a gimmik for a very specific scripted instance on the map.
When I was playing the game, sly felt less like the "field man" and more like "the costume guy". It did what balan wonderworld did but before they even made the mistake. I'd also argue that the maps felt less intresting than the maps in the games that came before it.
    *Infact, I have a request:*
Can you do a tier list video of the maps/worlds from 2, 3, and 4. I really wanna see how they all compare with you. That, and it's just good content.

Something about that part of the game just isn’t fun anymore. I’m also not a fan of them basically saying the third games ending didn’t matter and all the character development sly went through was for nothing. I love how sucker punch ended the series, and clear intentions to move on from it.
If PlayStation green lights another sly project in the future I think it should be
    A) remastered trilogy in the likes of crash or Spyro
Or b) an uncharted lost legacy type spin off where the main characters aren’t sly and the gang. Maybe they could flesh out a single ancestor and give them their own storyline that expands the universe. Maybe a prequel, like a game leading up to clockwerk and the fiendish five. There are several options they could go with, but I just don’t think sly, as a character, should continue to receive stories.

To me, what made me dislike the game a bit, it was the Ice Age level and Bob's level, simply due to Bob's existence.
Now obviously, Bob can exist as there other ancestors before Slytunkhamen, but the thing I'm questioning is... How did Le Paradox find out? Le Paradox plan was to go through time and steal the ancestors canes, meaning he MUST have known about Bob. But how do you find an ancestor that there's no record of? There is no mention of Bob in the Thievius Raccoonus because Slytunkhamen was the one who started it and Sly himself didn't even know of his existence. So how did Le Paradox find out when Sly himself didn't?

One thing that threw me off was when you hit an enemy you could feel it and you couldn't in this game which I had to get used to because I kept getting hit in the beginning. Not to mention that annoying sound it would make. And the whole caveman level just seemed lazy that they just so happened to go to whe they were in danger and just so happened another villain was there 🙄 the Penelope plot twist was obvious and lazy you could tell it was her but also made no sense. Carmelita wear a skirt....really? Sanzaro then saying oh well we made the gameplay for Egypt but it wouldn't fit on the ps Vita. First of all who All even bought that and if it didn't fit then they wouldn't have left the game off at a Clift hanger 😑 and once again Sony and whoever just keep hitting us with the oh it's in development now it's not 🙄 this wasn't the best game and I'm definitely don't agree with the "at least we got a sly game " ppl🙄 if they weren't gonna do it right and just rush through which they obviously did at the end then they should have just left it alone. 🙄

I think your opinion does not do the game justice. Ive played it yesterday and could not understand your arguments. Bob is a caveman and climbing is unique in the game because he is the only one that can do it. Yes its in sly 2 but its sly 4 now and in this game hes the only one. You also forgot that wich every episode there is a new costume too and everyone brings in new gameplay style too. So if you dont like an ancestor than you still have the new moves from the costume. Also the oacing is really good. Its not like youre forced to play as sir galloth 2 hours. No there is a bently sly carmelita mission between it wich gives it a lot of voriety.
Also there is a good boss fight in every level and you act like the last 3 levels are just generic and boring but its just that you dislike the ancestors style. I think galloth cooper is the worst and boring in the game but salim is cool and the slow motion costume is nice too. Bob is a caveman. What do you expect and we are the ones that teaches him the climbing so it makes perfect sense
