In the context of this game, yeah. There is a line between "easy" and "hard" in BBTAG (however that line if very dependent on context), even if BBTAG is IMO one of the easiest fighting games to play in general if not the easiest.
Really wish BBTAG took off. Just getting into the game and holy shit is it A LOT of fun despite the issues. I enjoy using Hyde/Ruby or Hyde/Ragna. And I have issues fighting my friend's Yumi/Susanoo, Seth/Susanoo, Nine/Susanoo, Akatsuki/Susanoo. Recurring issue is Susanoo it seems lol, it just feels like his buttons just outdo mine.
I appreciate that you moved Yang up with Yumi at the very end without saying anything lol. IMO Adachi and Roobi should join them though. All 4 characters have an obvious gameplan, easy combos, good tools, and work well in most teams. But if we're taking effectiveness of scrub-killing into account, Hilda should be top tier. You have no idea how many sad folks I've beaten online just because they don't know 5BBB is an overhead. Hell, I perfected one dude by just doing 5BBB > 236A. He rage quit and called me a spammer, and when I asked why he didn't just block, he said it was unblockable XD
As a rachel main she is definitely one of the hardest in the game. You have to master her wind if you want to get anywhere with your combos. I play her point with Linne or Es.
I'm probably biased as a Linne point main, but I would say she's at the bottom of hard. The bnbs take some learning and her pressure can be stuffed out unless you know what to do. TK Kuuga is hard for some people and it took me a bit to get used to. Hardest in medium difficulty makes sense tho. Great list!
pretty accurate tier list been playing the game since it came out rebought it a bit ago on pc for rollback and to use with my steam deck. I play linne and yang xiao long. had stopped playing for a couple years but when I rebought it for pc/steam deck my skills are still there. love this game i'd say this game got me more into being super competitive in fighting games other than melee which has been my main game forever. since playing bbtag (esp with rollback now) I see myself picking up every fighting game and try to play competitive lol. also just love the fgc community and I think fighting games are really good for my ADHD I can play a couple matches when I want then when I start getting distracted can just stop playing.
Damn you’re giving us yosuke mains too much credit lmao 😂 Hey I’ll take it, me am smart, me moonsault for a crossup in the corner, v slash and call assist for easy 6.5k damage!

@@XernuhtZwei ah I didn’t realize, I just liked her as a character, been playing for a hot min I would never use someone cause of tiers unlike some people ik
Great video as always Diaphone! I always look forward to your videos As a side note, I feel like Tager might be a tier lower? Considering your criteria at the beginning of your video (Teams, execution, gameplan), Tager kinda sucks at all three lol. Teams Versatility: You can only really pair him with Wald. Everyone else struggles to play BBTAG with Tager as an assist because he only has 5P for CC pressure and he can't IAD over for easy sandwiches in pressure Ease of Execution: Like you said, Tager is a scrub killer, but once you get out of lower levels, literally all of Tagers neutral options are big risks. He's extremely reliant on his partner to skip or play neutral. Getting PBed or DPed means reset to neutral, which means Tager has to be extremely mindful of that when structuring pressure (although he can't even really play around PB). He also has to manage meter between using spark for any combo damage, neutral and GETB to get out of safejumps. Once he's in, it's pretty standard grappler stuff though. Also, even though his combos are easy, why do I not see anyone do good combos >:V Ease of Gameplan: Get in, mix until they die or you whiff, repeat. The gameplan itself is easy, but getting in is the problem. While Tager has moves that really help him on defense (GETB, GP DP, 214B), he lacks basic tools that most other characters have. - No airdash to sandwich, - no air movement to bait AAs and some DPs (jC does fix this a bit), - no way to beat pushblock (grab rarely beats PB; can't cancel grab off 2B which is the big thing that people PB) - no real way to capitalize off pushblock (normally people get to start their pressure or even punish after they pushblock the right move; Tager has to spark to get anything, which is a 2 bar commitment for something that might not even be possible to combo after) - resource management (without meter or partner, low damage. Exception is 2A CH starter in corner and 214B starter. He needs meter to play neutral or use GETB though. Needs to sacrifice about 2k damage for safejump mix facing corner or use partner instead) Depending on how used to the MU your opponent is, Tager can either be a nightmare or really easy to fight. Scary to fight because of his risk taking nature, but you need to notice your opponents' habits so much more when you're playing Tager.
Agree but then again, a successful Sledgehammer=Delay gadget finger mixup (You can straight up Tager Bustour again with a correct timing with your gadget finger.) Not to mention the get in mixup where if he timed backdash your jumpin correctly = free bustour. Aside from that, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Also, I have easier time against Yumi because her stuffs are mostly projectile property which Tager LOVES.
I saw one clip of seth because of the " why you hate playing RUSHDOWN " video and ever since I've had so much fun with him. I also play Azrael, Merkava, Adachi, Gordeau, Neo and Hazama.
They MURDERED Gordeau with the 5B nerf and left Yumi, the cancer Ruby, Yang and Blake alone. WHY? It's ok to nerf his Grim Reaper but now, you nerf one of his most essential tool to control neutral. You can just straight up jump on Gordeau with much issue compare to his UNICLR counterpart where it was still nerfed yet still playable.
@@prachetasnayse9709 oh don't worry, knowing Adachi in the series will only make you hate him even more, and his fans (or better apologist) make things even worse

I didn't see this till now, so I don't know if your opinions changed or what the revisions you did with fame are (the link doesn't work anymore as it's been too long and twitch deletes vods). but I think you're very wrong on blitztank, I think this character is very hard and really polarizing to play. his optimals are actually pretty hard, alot of his hitconfirms can be pretty difficult to do. his neutral is very polarizing and hard to use, and using his dp optimally is also pretty challenging. the lack of an anti air forces you to deal with air approaches in a very different way from the rest of the cast and has a plethora of it's own risks and problems attached that you have to learn. he's also incredibly large both in width and in height making him super weak on defense. I wouldn't say he's in the hardest tier but he's definetly not anywhere higher than medium in terms of ease of use. I have a few others I disagree on but Tank is definetly the main one I felt the need to mention.
I don't think Hyde is as easy as shown here. His combos are above average difficulty by bbtag standards, like the 214AA-delay-A->5A or the 236A236A corner loop. You're gonna miss out on like 1500 damage from most starters by doing the easier routes. Similar thing with Yuzuriha. In general, almost all the Under Night characters' combos are on the harder end.
@@amare7430 Yes, especially when you also don't get easy oki. Yumi and Susanoo for example deal 8000 damage with their easy basic combo and also get a knockdown with frame advantage from it, so an easy 2-touch if you're not paying attention. Even if the beginner is bad at everything else, they are still somewhat of a threat if they can kill one of your characters by just punishing 2 mistakes. The same can't be said for someone who is performing equally poor, but also doesn't deal any damage in addition to that.
