My mother was a Newcastle fan, she died 11 years ago now from MND. I wish she had got to see the club's renaissance in the last year and a half, she would have been thrilled to see it. Eddie Howe has done such an amazing job with Newcastle. I'm a Leeds fan but Newcastle always my second team due to my familial connection. Can't wait to see the full series.
If there's a real deity out there, she's been enjoying it from October 2021, I can assure you. Same goes for all the greats who've served this club on & off the pitch, like Jackie Milburn, Joe Harvey, Terry Hibbitt, Pavel Srnicek, Cheik Tiote & recently Christian Atsu. I hope she's relishing it, because Eddie has said before "I came here to do a job" and he's only just got his teeth into this team. No more biscuits & lazy training from Fatso the Corbridge Cabbage, this team is a machine with the potential to be ruthless. We aren't out to win friends like it was 30yrs ago, we are there to compete now

Eddie howe is the master man behind Newcastle’s success along with the board.
MCFC needed a whole host of coaches/managers from their days of the third tier, bringing in Robinho et all. Eddie has had a headstart just by keeping us away from 18/19/20th. The bloke did wonders at AFCB, pushes us to fourth when most of the TA would've taken Top Ten.
Crucial significance is the rejuvenation of existing players rather than just wazzing out £100M here or £80M for a donkey defender from Leicester.
Christ, he takes an "Enfant Terrible" from Everton and the lad goes from a "display of dissent" at Brentford, to a goal at Chelsea, then puts in extra shifts to bring not only a winner's medal from Tbilisi but also the Player of the Tournament as well?

This is sounds to me like a guy who was feeling the pressure. I like EH ability to manage teams and he plays an attractive style of football. I’m sure he will watch this and cringe, ETH got to him and if ever someone embodied fearful mentality he was in this clip was. I hope he is aware that he’s a stop-gap to where Newcastle will be in the next 5 years, he will not be competing with ETH and Man Utd! Makes you wonder why Howe didn’t give that team talk before the cup final. Perhaps he didn’t feel confident that the team could win on such a big stage after a bad run of form since Boxing Day really. He probably knew the home crowd would play a huge part and the pitch is smaller.
How do you know he didnt? was you there or have you seen the entire show? you can give players all the motivation you need, but sometimes it doesnt play out, and Sadly We (Newcastle have lost the lat 5 cup finals in a row going back to 1976, the last victory being the fairs cup 1969) Man Utd were the bigger team and turned up on the day
Man Utd had World Cup winners & serial winners in their team in the cup final. Kieran Tripper is the only Newcastle player to have won something in that team (La Liga title). I think it showed on the day. The players who are used to winning trophies lifted the trophy due to their quality & experiences. Simple as that.

@@gettobythesea I get your point but look at relegated Wigan beating City in 2013 (FA Cup) and Birmingham beating Arsenal in 2011 with our old boy Martins bagging the winner. Sometimes teams freeze on the day and unfortunately we did that after the half hour mark.
