- In this video I share what I think to be the best in slot legendaries for Demon Hunters in Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls. This is based on the current prevailing meta for the class of builds focusing on fire damage and bursty specs like Cluster Arrow Loaded for Bear. I also don't really include sets like Natalya's and Marauder's as they are fantastic as a set but not really BiS items alone. Spoiler List Below!

The reason I didn't mention items for the Amulet, other ring, boots and belt slots is because I don't really consider there to be a clear BiS for these. There are good choices but nothing amazing like the rest of these items. Nothing that you wouldn't take on any other build or class.

Remember though that this is based on the current meta of dire damage burst demon hunters, your BiS items will differ if you are a different sort of build!

I don't think there are any standout boots, so I just recommend the captain crimson's set or whatever else you need to fill out a set.

In my opinion, Pride's fall is only best in slot for people who can't fit resource reduction on other gear, I can vault rush through T3 rifts without running out of resources and without a pride's fall.
One thing you didn't take into account with pride's fall, this may only seem small yes, but the time you put into dodging/vaulting away from attacks to keep your pride up still takes away from your DPS since you aren't attacking.
I didn't know that about the Yan pants so if that works as well as you say then I'd fit them into here, but in my opinion these items are really awesome:
Royal Ring of Granduer (for the 3 piece bonuses)
- Crimsons Belt & pants
- Ashera's Shoulders & Boots
- Natalya's Crossbow & helm
I know that I sad nat's crossbow here, but I only do that for group play lol, the Danetta's is crazy epic :) I use one of them with my nat's, and swap the other one on when I get a conduit shrine.
SoJ is crazy lol :P best in slot for DPS for sure. I could even respect those wearing 2 of these with the legacy since it multiplies over the top of all your total damage including elements.
It really comes down to how much reduction you need. Andy's face can roll with Dex, Cluster Arrow damage and Fire damage, in addition to the atkspd, which can be rerolled into crit chance. So to compare Pride's Fall with Andy's face, you are looking at roughly 20% fire damage vs 30% resource reduction.

i think using Ring of Royal Grandeur combine with Aughlid set (Shoulder and Bracer) with 3 set bonus you can have Reduces damage from elites by 15.0%
and Increases damage against elites by 15%
Great upload liked and subbed just finished building my 5 set marauders with ring of royal but lost a lot of dexterity since equipping it
The Harrington Waistguard "Opening a chest grants 100-135% increased damage for 10 seconds." This belt gives an insane dps boost, the trick is it actually triggers on things like corpses and weapon racks. Its very nice on hardcore and/or higher torment levels, critting for 100M+ without much gearing is just nuts.
i have gambled for the danttes and you can get them. ive gotten 3 spites from them. my revenge actually dropped from a demonic vessle when i was t6 rift farming a while back. i was very happy.
What do you think of having ring of Royal Grandeur with:
Natalya Crossbow + Natalya Reflection,
Ashera's Gloves + Ashera's Boots (changeable),
Marauders Helm, Pants and Shoulders.
This way you'll have 3 sets with 2 set bonuses each. You will sacrifice Prides Fall but still pretty huge buffs from the sets. You can still keep Cindercoat and Calamity this way.
The only thing I dont like about that setup is that you can't also use a Stone of Jordan, which is an amazing ring.
Marauders.. Helm Shoulder Chest Legs Boots TnT Reapers Wraps Kridershot/Etrayu Rucksack RoRG 2 Unitys (1 for you 1 for follower) + Any of the Aspect heal necklaces.. I have 800k paper damage, with 58% frost damage inc, 50% crit chance (soft cap) and run grifts level 25-30 without much struggle.. I use Archery Ballistics Custom Engineering and Culling. It's possible to swap the aspect heal neck for hellfire necklace so you can also get the cheat death (awareness) on your passives For gems I use: Elite Damage % Pet Damage % and Smite Damage, (can be swapped for Toxin if you play with others)
With Marauders 4 piece, your boar gives you 10% movespeed, so I put 30 points into movespeed for the cap (25%) then run Dex>Vit>MH, CHD>CHC>AS>CDR, Resist All>Life%>Life Regen>Armor, Lastly I go Area Damage %>LoH>RR>Gold Find. This is for the latest patch, but it's an update for anyone planning on doing DH.

I wanted to give a nod to Vaux Haunt for DH-BIS. The Haunt, with Danetta's rattle roll effect added to my trail of cinders rune, is really fun. Those clones do nice damage too, not sure if its based on your dps though. I had a blast the last two days doing T5-6 rifts, bountys and fun runs.. Found three mauraders helms, one was pretty dang good. I just wish they would add more stun, and slow effects to runes. Be nice to have more options for these type o builds. This Amulet is great if you play like me, I just can't stand back in T6 avoiding the powerful ranged elites. I like getting in close and mixxing it up, I die a little more often, but I have 100% more fun.
PS. This is a single player/co-op game, nothing is OP...... If you are worried about how others play, You need Professional help!
got an AWESOME roll on Rakoff's Glass of Life amulet for this build... 20% fire skill damage and enemies have a additional 4% chance to drop health globes
You can also find the prides fall helm through act4 caches which apparently drop all the caches.
all the cache items I mean, sorry.

I'd probably say Harrington Waistguard for BiS Belt. It's possible to keep the legend ability up ~75% of the time as any clickable that has the blue overlay counts as a chest (weapon/armour racks, loose stones, dead guards etc all count).
Given the bursty nature of the build, this allows you to 2-4 shot blue elites by dumping your hatred.
I'm using this Belt at the moment, I'm in T2 as a Paragon 84 DH with 800k paper dps and 4mil toughness using Entangling Shot + Cluster Arrow and finding it almost as easy as normal as far as killing mobs goes. With the proc on the belt, my dps goes up to about 1.8mil on paper.

I can confirm, mr.yan is good, but gives carpal tunnel with its playstyle xD, i have most of these BIS but i wish my jordan rolled crit chance :[ good guide ziggy

The megahoar Fire-DH set.
Ring of Royal Grandeur for lowering set req's by 1.
Natalya's reflection + Natalya's slayer for the amazing 3 set effect.
Andariel's Visage for obvious +% Fire skill damage, +% attack speed etc.
Cindercoat for +% Fire skill damage, 30% Fire skill cost reduction
Magefist for +% Fire skill damage, also preferably Trifecta.
Witching Hour for Attack speed and Crit dmg.
Marauder's Shoulders, pants and boots for the amazing 4 set effect.
Reapers Wraps since there's no better substitute *left*. (Aughild's brace + shoulders give a good effect)
And lastly Offhand and Amulet are mostly a question of preference. Either Helltrapper or Calamity for Offhand Crossbow. And for amulet Haunt of Vaxo or Leoric's gorget. Obviously you can carry around all of the elemental absorbing amulets to swap on in case of emergency.
you can gamble both danettas and calamity from cadala. you can get swords and axes but when you get a legendary, it will be a 1h crossbow most of the time. 4 out of 4 legendaries me and a friend got from cadala were crossbows, including a danetta revenge and a calamity
Really nice build. I really feel you could have much more elite damage though, blackthornes legs and boots gives a really underrated 10% elite damage and 250 vit, i use witching hour belt on top. I also use a 2 handed crossbow to get the most damage out of the hatred I have. I currently have 55% elite damage with cluster and fire damage to boot, and hit up to 80mil crits on elites with a 2h! With 1h I hit no more then 50mil!
I really hope you are are aware that those dual emeralds don't stack for every attack, but that each emerald increases the crit damage of the weapon you attack with. The total crit damage on your profile details displays this as a total crit damage but don't be decieved!

Ziggy, you didn't go over the best in slot boots, belt, quiver, and 2H crossbow/bows. Yes, I know you mentioned that this sort of build is more so for the danetta's set, but if you end up going for the 2x calamity it's the same as going for 1h + quiver and 2h + quiver because calamity has no synergy with this build. Also - you mentioned boots and belt briefly at the end, but it wasn't about them being best in slot items. Please consider adding the best in slot items to the description.

I got my calamity when I was speed-running bounties on Normal difficulty (yes it can drop below Torment difficulty).
P.S. Not from Horadric Cache, you cannot get this item from baggies, I got it from monster on normal difficulty, while speedrunning with my DH :)

I've picked up my Danetta's from Kadala... The only things you cant get from gambling at the Torment only items
Hey Ziggy,excellent video as always.I do have some questions about the build tough:
1. Would you consider the 3 set bonus from Aughild's Power.I find the + elite dmg and mitigation excellent and is well worth having.Now I know that as a DH you get hit far less often than a melee class and the defensive bonus is only marginally useful but the elite damage alone make it worth taking imho,especially in higher torments.
2. I noticed you have Bul Kathos's Weeding Band yet unless I'm really stupid and missed something ,you didn't talk about it.Now I know the drain life effect is pretty good for melee classes but I wonder how good it is for a ranged class ,especially a DH who tends to stay as far away from packs as spossible.Would you consider swapping it for a good Ring of Royal Grandeur or Unity for group plays and higher torments ?

you can get Danetta's Spite from the blood shard lady, I've got it myself 2 times.
I managed to gamble both danetta 1handers, one after the other. I'm not sure if they always come paired but they are definitely able to be gambled for.

ziggy, andariels can also roll with 15~20% elemental dmg.
Overall getting way more eDPS than pride's fall. I think pride's fall is quite overrated. Especialyl for people with Cindecoat

In my opinion, Kridershot is the best weapon for DH, just because Elemental arrow is an awesome skill, and being able to use it infinitely is really good.
Gamble for that Cindercoat, I probably got extremely lucky but I got mine from Kadala on my first 500 shards spent on chest armor slot. Hands down best in slot for DH.

Demon Hunter is definitely my primary focus. I do play around with some of the other classes like Monk and Wizard (and I'll also play any class in Hardcore) but for now DH is getting most of my attention.

Hey pretty good Video what you think about Aughilds Shoulders+Bracers they should give you more dps and alot more survival than the 2 legendarys you have only downside is prob the healthglobe bonus you lose.
I rolled 7 weapons with Bloodstones and got 7 of the same danetta xD . I also got the Hexing Pants of mr yan.

I still play what I enjoy most and I love elemental electric arrow & Falling electric rain. Awesome for aoe procs and fun as hell. passive 4% crit every sec and just jam up my crit damage and % electric damage. Everything else I do supports them.
I will check out the chakra your using since I mainly use bola or hunger.
Im curious if you ever use grenades? Unless I can get elites and mobs stuck/jammed in one area I think there useless.

Strongarm Bracers would be sick for your build, no way u need reapers with your recource stock. thx for the tips tho ziggy, my build comes quite close to what you got.
i'm using a krider untill i get 2 high DPS 1handers. But the helmet with dodge skill is something i missed, cheers for the input.

Might as well use Trail of cinders rune with Vault since It's fire rune you get ressource reduction with Cindercoat. I need to farm that helm!
Not necessary with the Danetta's set. It's practically free and the crits from Action Shot generate disc which becomes hatred through prep punishment; it actually becomes a generator skill.
yes you can get set hand cross from gambling i have gotten both and its one of the main gambles sence dh doesnt have to many 1 hand wepons. also on a barb bk sword set drops alot in gamble

Yeah, all difficulties. However in the upcoming patch higher difficulties will have higher drop rates.
It might just be personal taste but i think a Ring of Royal Grandeur with your calamity/Danetta might be the way to go in T5/6, seeing as you will get to keep your set bonus.
The Ring of Royal Granduer doesn't work with 2 set bonuses, it can take you from 2 to 3 set but not from 1 to 2. So it doesnt work with Danettas

ziggy you might wanna try a haunt of vaxo amulet it will synergise well with your vault stun summons 2 clones which can do all sorts of skills like the one diablo can spawn

I got the forst of my crossbow set with gambling. The whole set is so awesome (although I screwed up enchanting and now only one of them has a gem slot...)

Pride's Fall / Andariel visage with fire damage , Magefist , Cindercloak , 2h Bow 2600ish dps with main stat + socket , Stone of jordan , 2 set Blackthorne , 2 set Augh's , Ring of Royal , and you should sit on 45-60 mil cluster crits , 80%ish fire dmg + 50-60% elite dmg...
While the helm is awesome, a perfectly fine substitute (and arguably better) Is an Andariels Visage with IAS, Crit and CA on it. I have all but Cluster arrow on mine and it's pretty nutty. I'm waiting for the new patch to farm the other helm. Also I'm currently using Nat's Slayer (2600+ dps) and Nats ring for the disc. Trying to get a Ring of Royal Grandeur atm.
Also have Nat's helm so I'd have the 4set with the ring, just wondering what a viable build would be with it.

Gah. Been running Act III T1 bounties for ages. I don't even get legendary drops in the Horadrim Caches, let alone Pride's Fall. :-(

Have one question: do I need to switch my difficulty level in order to increase the chance of dropping legendary?
Increasing diff will also increase chance of legendary drop, but rifts have 100% more chance to drop than everywhere else.

Aside from the cache specific drops and craftable legendaries you can drop all legendaries anywhere in Torment 1 of higher.
Hi Ziggy :p I've a Trifecta Ring of Royal Grandeur and Im trying to get the 3 set bonus with the natalya's and the 4 set bonus with the marauder's and I have the natalya's done and im just one piece short in the marauders do you think its worth it? or should I just go with a full fire damage (btw im using the typical cluster arrow build)

I got the quiver that makes bolas explode perfectly with calamity my bolas hit for 5mil pretty strong.
Don't forget that bolas explode instantly on death now, the quiver doesn't really add much to the skill imo!

I'm very sceptical about the Hexing Pants being BiS for anything other than a WW Barb etc. Stutter Stepping will decrease your DPS output quite a lot.
Yesterday I actually got 2(yes two) Cindercoat from gambling on my DH. So if you need one, I would suggest to just gamble on your DH.

Sory but i got Calamity and it doesn't get the effect of the rune on the skill Mark for Death. So it means if you have Calamity you dont have to use Mark for Death skill - it will be useless. Instead Calamity always applies the basic effect of Mark for Death (without any runes). It is balanced since the beta cuz it was a huge advantage to apply rune effects. Still pretty important hand Crossbow :)
I got Danetta's Revenge from Act 3, torment 1 cache. I think its worth checking out if some1 is farming for those. I did t1 act 3 bounty solo so im sure about this drop.
Ziggy, you can't get torment only legendary set items (marauder, nats etc) or bounty only legs (pride's, shrine gloves etc) from Kadala. Everything else is fair game.
You can get Danettas from Blood Shards.
Hey Ziggy, I started to play Diablo 3 again and I have a question about the mechanics now. I can handle Torment I normal mobs with my DH but I'm struggling to kill uniques, since the new loot I'm getting isn't compatible with the build that I was using. Do you have some advice on how to progress on the game now? What videos did you make that help solve my question?
So is this best build for the moment? (Let's say it's including the items that you mentioned that you haven't got yet)

Chicki Chak 2 onehanded crossbows because of the extra crit damage gem, if you use a 2 handed weapon and a quiver the quiver is only giving you Dex and not the crit dmg

Rasmi Jørgensen 2 Crit Damage gems don't stack, despite what your sheet dps suggests. Go download an EDPS app for DH ("effective dps") and you will see. You fire your crossbows separately, one after the other, and each applies it's own numbers, including the extra Crit Damage.
Consider using Unity as a second ring. It gives 15% damage increase against elites and 50% damage reduction in solo farming if you give an other unity to your follower + invulnerability relic.
Unfortunately if you dont have that follower unique then if they take damage you lose your pride's fall effect :( so not really viable for me.

I've been looking for Pride's Fall for the past 3-4 days'ish and spent many.... many hours into it last night (up until 730am) and still haven't got it. Got a Cinder Coat, though! Worst possible rolls on it and lost a million toughness... but I got a Cinder Coat!
I don't think you can gamble for danetta's. It's a class specific set and I know that you can't gamble for the main 2-3 class specific sets, so for demon hunter I know you can't gamble for Natalyas and Marauders, and I'm pretty sure Danetta's is the third.
Also if you're breaking up the Captains set with the pants, then I'd throw witching hour in for BiS belt. Then Captains boots become a regular useless legendary. Maybe throw in some firewalkers or the boots that gain stacks of hp regen while standing still (as long as you don't have Mr. Yan's pants).
I also noticed you didn't touch on the amulet? Unless I got distracted when you did. For my 2 cents, I'd just say throw in a trifecta amulet that prevents all arcane/psn/etc dmg and heals you. I have a Mara's which turns psn dmg into healing with crit chance and dmg. There's also the deadmau5 amulet. If you can get trifecta with it, then maybe it'd be best haha. When you turn on Vengeance, enemies around your jump up and down (rave! basically a stun).

i have the danettas set but my burst is higher with unbound bolt and the crafted quiver im seeing a 4-7 mil bonus at the top end with those

Not to my knowledge! You most likely just had a streak of bad luck with the quest not spawning.
Seems like all the D3 content creators I sub to are DH centric in terms of actual non-filler content. (Not talking about leveling up/HC runs/ but actual number crunching).
Any D3 RUclipsrs covering Witch Doctor's as in-depth as Ziggy, Shinobi, and others have?

I love this video but I have to disagree with one thing. Danetta's set is very good but if you run (with Ring of Grandure) Marauders 4 set (Boots, Shoulders, Pants) and Natalya's 3 set (Ring, Crossbow), you have to use natalya's crossbow if you want to keep your Helm, Gloves, Chest and Bracers slot open for their respective BiS items. With Natalya's crossbow you can run Calamity in your other hand which you did mention. I suppose that's not entirely disagreeing with you because you mentioned the sets at the beginning and calamity at the end. Still thought I'd share my views.
I've been doing Act III caches for days, still no Pride's Fall. Tried first at Master, then T1 (hoping for higher drop rate), then Expert (for more, faster attempts). Any suggestion for difficulty that might more likely drop the helm?

Andies is not for sheet dps, Ziggy... It's for 20% fire damage. When you have a skill with a base of 700%+ 20% is insane
Though it's already possible to get so much fire damage without Andy's, and it becomes less potent the more you have of it. I think better leveraging your hatred with Pride's wins out.
But I think there will always be people on either side of this particular argument. :)
ZiggyD Gaming not to mention that Prides reduces discipline too ALOT, allowing even more Preperations meaning EVEN MORE CA's Andy's is also shit unless it rolls perfect. whereas on prides all u need is DEX and Crit roll and it can roll 15%Clusterarrow damage also like all helms if your really lucky. Andys requires the fire damage roll(not100%) AND a crit roll AND cluster arrow roll. the odds of findin the perfect Andys is far lower.
I havnt played RoS, im actually going to get it soon but I have a question. Is there a reason that you dont advise using a quiver with the calamity? I understand with the set bows u need both but why not a quiver with the calamity? are there just not any good ones? or is it just better to only have a quiver with 2H bows?
i rolled a fire dmg % andy, on my warrior, didn't know i could get that (sad i couldnt get it on dh's andy).
Pride's fall is great overall though.
Can you get The Pride's Fall helm from normal bounties? and if so, is it less chance than on troment?
Yes, and the chance is the same on Normal and Torment so yu may as well do whatever is fastest for you!

I can also confirm that you can get the Danetta's Set from Kadala because that is how i got my set....
My question is if cindercoat is used instead of Cloak of Garwulf... would the wolf companion still still be useful or would it be better to switch it for something else?
Yeah, I still think wolf is best for the damage boost.

I just got a Cindercoat. Unfortunately it was on my barb, so I had to waste an enchant changing it from strength to dex instead of getting 3 sockets. Both times it's dropped for me I was in a Nephalem rift in the big graveyard from act 5. Dunno if that's any help.
would you switch to bat companion if you had both Cindercoat and Pride's Fall?

I intentionally didn't say anything for Belt, Ammy & boots because I don't think there is anything amazing in those slots that is BiS for the current DH meta. Sure witching hour is amazing, but it's amazing for just about any build and class so it's not worth mentioning.

I prefer my Buriza to 2 1handers in torment x. Hits harder and doesnt drain hatred as quickly.
Why exactly do you recommend danetta over a good 2 hander? crit damage socket?
Crit damage socket, the clear speed vault gives you, and eventually the hatred:damage ratio argument for 2 handers becomes irrelevant when you can make a build that never runs out of hatred (so it becomes about dumping your hatred as quickly as possible).
what about strongarm bracers...I get 27% damage increase for 5 seconds when enemies are knocked back..which rolls nice with my vault and danetta
